  • Very clear information. I suspect I have gluten intolerance to go along with my moderate lactose intolerance. If I may remember correctly upwards of 70% of the adult population is lactose intolerant, Asians especially, Scandinavian people less so. I wonder what percentage are gluten intolerant? My guess is a large percentage. I wonder if the wheat industry will launch a campaign to downplay the statistics when people really realize how wheat and dairy are not the best foods for humans.

    Cheers

  • @qwerasdzxc - That's quite a moniker! You are correct, if you don't have the genes for celiac disease or gluten sensitivity (don't forget about that last one!) then you cannot get the disease. And you do not need to be eating gluten to get a genetic test.

Do keep in mind that many researchers feel that more genes code for the diseases than we are currently testing for, so if suspicious a 30 day gluten free diet trial is still a good idea potentially.

    Best,

  • @BenBuddha - Here's something to keep in mind. The elimination of gluten/corn/soy/casein would not create a deficiency per se that would create such symptoms. Either you have been inadvertently eating something that really disagrees with you or your body is quite toxic and either requires a longer period of time or something else is occurring that needs to be addressed.

I you'd like a free health analysis to help figure it out, give me a call 408-733-0400. There is definitely a reason for this.

  • hello,

i've heard that the gene test is far more accurate than the traditional blood tests, and that you don't need to eat gluten in order to get a positive result. if the gene test is negative, then doesn't that mean there's virtually no way that you could have celiac because you don't have the genes for it?

  • what if you feel worse 30days after stopping gluten? Poor memory/concentration, aches/pains, weakness/fatigue. I'm 32days into gluten/corn/soy/casein free diet and feel like crap.

  • I don't care what the test says, eating gluten makes me feel like garbage so I don't eat it.
