Behind the scenes, Linden is still captain of the team.
The infamous Linden trade made possible the acquisitions of Luongo and the Sedins, the two most recent captains. During his second stint, Linden, along with Luongo, had actually invested confidence in the Sedins when others hadn't, thereby making possible their leadership development.
Linden was one special player whom, no matter what you did with him, was going to strengthen the team one way or another.
Hire this guy for your executive team Gillis. And when the Canucks win the Cup, let Roberto Luongo do a Joe Sakic so Linden becomes the first Canuck in history to hoist it.
Wow, what an honour indeed for Linden. Haha, every time I hear the Jurassic Park theme from now, I'll be thinking of Linden.
I only wished he stayed on longer to win the Cup (he'd have done better playing with young wingers).
Otherwise, I wished they traded him to the Wings last Feb, whom I (accurately) felt were Stanley Cup bound. That would have been the day the Canucks brought home the Stanley Cup.
Thanks for posting this up. I was in the states and as you know, hockey doesn't exist. I had my PVR set up to tape this and for some reason, it never picked it up. I was truly bummed. Anyway, like I said, thanks for taking the time to post this up.

This is why I'm a Canucks fan. Sometimes it can be painful, sad, and frustrating. But memories of #16 make it all worthwhile.

Is it just me, or does Linden's brother look like someone famous?

Dito. It's near impossible to get good hockey in Nevada. Kudos for posting the whole thing.
