  • if all this runs off of 12v power how do you run it off your car battery and what cellanoid do you use? is it included?

  • Hey, how would you feel putting the compressor and tank in the trunk of a car? thanks

  • that wasn't a good advert for Ford's building quality, just rip it...

  • i need me some strippers. O_o

  • They sound weak

  • @bcsprothree you could try wiring the standard horn and the train horn through a switch, so you could have the switch flipped one way to have it on standard horn and have that, and then flip it the other way to have it on the train horn, i'd research how to do it 1st before trying

  • can you pit a string to set it off? you know like a semi has?

  • how many decibles are considered the highest legal limit?

  • Hi , does it mather if the "Horns" get wet ? I'm gonna have this on the roof on my van, and make a box inside for the compressor.

  • @xXFRISJEXx The horns can get wet, all you have to do is honk them and all the water comes right out.

  • where could i put train horns on my 1996 ford bronco?

  • FUCK expert village Motorz° is tha Hit!

  • Is the compressor too loud to put in the cab of the truck? I want to install a train horn but the only closed area I have is the cab.

  • okay i bought the train horn is there a way i can hook up a switch that can make it so i can just honk it through the normal horn and then when i want to honk normally i can switch it back because the guys a bosselmans said i should get a valve that honks it like a semi truck from the cealing

  • can u fit those on ferrari f430??

  • Hi, do you think i could mount the tank and compressor under the toolbox or is that not enough protection

  • @SuperFLyTYEr If you don't have a bed cover, I don't think that would be enough protection from the elements.

  • @motorztv hmmm ok where else do you recomend?

  • @SuperFLyTYEr Get a truck box that will fit it all and make sure it's got a tight seal to keep water out.

  • where did you hook up your 12v power too?

  • @TRUEFOOTAGE It's hard-wired to the battery with inline fuse.

  • Lifted truck CHECK

    Train horn CHECK

    Beat your wife CHECK

Drink bear after beating wife CHECK

These are things that make you a true redneck...

  • @Jx1x3 Ignorant asshole? CHECK

  • Question.

One is a witch for the

fill up tank" can you use a momentary switch for the other to release the valves to

make it horn? and is there momentary switches that can hold that much voltage.

im asking due to the fact that i dont want to click back and forth, when i can just tap it.

  • that's badass!!!!

  • You guys really should get the Nathan Airchime K5's there amazing. You need a bigger air tank though. Lol. If you ever do you have to make a video of the installation.

  • THIS IS NOT A REAL TRAIN HORN! IF IT DOSENT SAY NATHAN AIRCHIME OR LESLIE SUPERTYPOON THEN ITS NOT REAL!!!!!!

  • Are these illegal in New York? Please answer!

  • @BigAl0305 Yes, they're illegal everywhere as they violate noise ordinances.

  • @motorztv i thought they were only illegal on public roads

  • @glennojordan They are.

  • @motorztv not here in Atl the cops laugh at them

  • There only Illegal if u got em wired to your horn in your steering wheel...... I got my runnin thru a ball valve i got from Lowe's that way u can control em better instead of the toggle switch thats kinda gay... Alsoi used 1/2 inch airline instead of 1/4 or 3/8...... More volume of air goin to em means more noise.... Just think of the blowin air thru a straw deal.....

    .

  • To bad its illegal in the Netherlands. :(

  • im worried about buying train horns for the fact that i live in salt, sand, and snow country. new england. what should i do?

  • cleanest truck bottom ever...

  • can u use the same compressor to fill up tire??

  • @mnm9194 don't see why not....if you have the proper hoses...

  • these horns dont get up to 180 decibels, they're closer to 140db, 180db is far too difficult to get to and it really bothers me when people try to make comparisons of 180db to Car audio and to the basis of these train horns. 180db car audio = INSTA-Deaf, Train Horn 180DB = aint no talking over it, just aint happening.

  • @SXSic Well said. Thank you.

  • how loud is this kit? I am really looking to buy one, just dont wanna be disppointed by it not being loud enough.

  • @ignaciotero It is pleeeenty loud :) You don't want to be close to it when it blows!

  • @motorztv Thats what she said.

  • Train horns are much bigger than these ones

    these are made for Cars.

A typical pressure horn of train cant be installed in the cars, they require alot of space and air storage container and compressor to build up pressure and require alot of space. You need the space of about that of the car engine to install the locomotive pressure horn in car which is not possible.

so this video and horn are fake!

  • @OSAMAxxxxxxxxxxyz Well you just said it yourself. These are made for cars... clearly as you've stated you can't put real ones on a car :) Thanks for watching!

  • @motorztv You can put real train horns on a car. I've done it. They just require more air but they are MUCH MUCH louder.

  • Do you guys know how to install boat horns on a vehicle?

  • i own a 1998 mercury sable. i realllllly want a train horn somewhere in there. space is quite limited if need ill mount them on the roof for shits and giggles. should i go with a direct drive or compressor? im not 100% sure what direct drive even is. if anyuone can help meout that would be great.

  • @nutkase121 Direct drive means the compressor can run without any belts from a separate motor. If you are buying a set of train horns I recommend going to Airhornsoftexas and buying their 46115 HD Train Horn Kit (make sure you add the HD valve and tubing for +$40.00) its a great starter kit and is cheap.

  • The owner marc, wouldn't reply to my phone call or email, my horns were loosely assembled and stopped working within 3 hours of use. DO NOT BUY MAXIMUS HORN KITS. JUNK

  • You could of hook up to the normal horn switch, Put a relay to switch to normal stock or train horn.

  • How would it work on a 1995 lifted suburban because i want to install one but i dont know were to put the air compreser

  • @famous8909 You can install the compressor and tank anywhere on the car. My P5 is mounted under the car with the tank close to it and the compressor is attached to the tank. There are snorkel kits, like the one I use, which allow you to have the compressor's intake be up to 6 feet away from the actual compressor to avoid taking in dirt or moisture.

  • cooooooooooool

  • I used the exact same rocker switch from a local O'Reillys and it only works about every third flip. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Could it possibly be a ground issue? Thanks.

  • is it just me or does this guy look like mike the situation from jersey shore

  • i will love this on my stang

  • where I can buy

  • Very informative, thank

    You

  • Try putting that set up on a small honda civic

  • @honeybunchickens I had a similar set up on an 86 mazda. mounted under hood, It actually made the floorboard rattle.

  • i want to put a huge horn on my cooper.. just for the hell of it haha

  • HOw would you do it with a 02 ranger?

  • i would have used a momentary switch for the horn activation

  • Hey I was wondering if yall could make a video or help me out with installing some of these bad boys on a jeep wrangler with a 4 in lift and 35in tires?

  • @mattrat84 Might need to get a smaller kit to pull it off. We have our Jeep CJ5 project, and we may do a small kit on it one day.

  • @motorztv That would be amazing, different bodies but, hey i might be able to find a spot on there for the compressor and horns! =) thanks

  • Thats horny!

  • would it be bad to drive down the road with the air compreser filled with air?

  • @dylanprice00 I usually keep mine aired down because I rarely use it, but as long as your tank is up to snuff you should be able to keep it filled under pressure all the time.

  • @motorztv thanks!

  • im still trying to figure out where the hell i should put my compressor and all when i do buy my setup..

  • Stainless Steel Diaphragms? They only have a 3 month warranty on the compressor......

  • @N8ked919 I have had this system installed on my truck for well over a year now and I haven't had a single issue with it.

  • @motorztv ok thanks.....do they have stainless Stainless Steel Diaphragms?

  • @motorztv Are you worried that because of the location possible mud getting up into the horns? Or is the truck simply a mall cruiser? Either way, it's a very nice truck! ;)

  • These horns are not 180dB! But around 152dB

  • @arcostiann I stated in the video what the manufacturer states as the dB levels. There's no easy way to test every manufacturer's specifications.

  • i jet is 185 db at idle and 185+ after

  • can i put the air compressor and tank inside a truck tool box

  • @1988tahoe Definitely! It will keep the noise level down too!

  • Instead of an air compressor and tank, couldn't you rig it to be powered by the exhaust, or wouldn't that have adequate psi?

  • @XXdetonator890 Correct... not enough pressure with an exhaust.

  • Excelent clean installation !

  • ok, i have a Freightliner Century class 120 with tanks already on there...i still need to have a seperate airtaink? plus i want to buy the K5LA because these 4 wheelers need a wake up call. the factory airhorn sucks!

  • why do you run a whole ground wire cant you ground it to the chassis ?

  • @CarAudioGuy21 You certainly can ground it to the chassis. I can't remember where we grounded it, but we couldn't do it in the bed due to BedRug and the roll-top tonneau cover being there.

  • @motorztv thanks for the reply .. nice video i hope to get something like that soon

just curious but yea can only do what you can do :)

  • Great video on showing people fake train horns that are affordable.

But I just got a brand new K3LA train horn, the real deal.

I payed a little more than yours but I can say its real.

But yours is no way at 180 db, lol. Maybe 135 db.

Because mine is 175 db. Also lol train horns are not chrome plated!

Great video on how you installed it though! :-)

  • @Icanbecreative Thanks for the comment... I agree these are not the real deal, but they are close and very very loud. For someone on a budget, you can't beat these. I've had them on the truck since I installed them over a year ago and they work every time.

  • i am still going to get on on my box truck cops can shuve it if they try to give a ticket for blasting it.

  • Skip to 5:31 to watch the train horns!!!!!

  • Getting a K5LA to put on a smart car...Thinking for a plausible location...

  • @Neonspinnazz30 that horn would flip your car! ahaha

  • sweet!

  • I don't have any experience with small air compressors, just have used my dad's huge one, not sure the size. Well his is loud when it has to pressurize, is this small one audible? and how often does it have to refill?

    -Thanks

  • @gunzkevin the little compressors do have a good hum to them you can hear, my friend has one and he could hit his horn maybe 3 times before you could tell a difference in the sound of the horn. By the way it was strong enough to scare everyone in a resturant about 20 or 30 yards away all 3 times, I am wanting one but dont think I could take the hum of the compressor I have a nissan 300zx so it would be in the car with me.

  • great video

  • 9:07 Def leppard rock of ages intro =D

  • Is the wiring hard to do? Do you have to connect certain wires to ceartain ends or does it matter? Plz help want to get one just confused on wiring

  • @motorztv Could you use a nitrous oxide tank since they have high psi ratings (195). Or would this not work?

  • For real train horns, (unlike the ones he is installing) go to a custom BIg Rig (18 wheeler) type shop. They have the real deal, and they are louder than these, and will make people crap their pants. On a side note the real ones are much longer, and will require some extra space. Use as a novelty only. LOL : )

  • @graycloud057 Even the ones that are sold there are not real train horn's. The real deals are either Nathan air chime horn's, or Leslie supertyfon horn's. They are not openly sold at truck stop's to non railroad people. They are sold on ebay though by private individual's who have found& restored them.

  • Not a REAL TRAIN HORN. But good install vid.

  • @Thewoog Cool score for him!

  • @Thewoog Believe me, these horns are PLENTY loud. I'm sure the ones you are referring too would be even better, but the price keeps people from going that route.

  • do you have a video using the $300 kit.

i really want to buy one. i wanna here that cheap kit first though

  • @ridingUPset Only this video, sorry. Should be similar though with their other kits.

  • @motorztv i saw the cheaper kit is 165 db and this one is 180db. thanks for the reply

  • @ridingUPset No problem. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe!

  • how large is the actual tri-horn assembly? a compressor/tank could be in the trunk but what kind of ground clearance would I be looking at, (minimum)?

  • @RSXYYY I'll check next time I'm out at the truck to see--you can also contact the manufacturer and ask

  • that was in a truck, but in a small car?

  • @krisrey30 I don't think this would fit in a small car--you'd need one of their smaller kits.

  • if it dont say "Nathan Air Chime" ITS NOT A REAL HORN!!

  • @joshmeister4449 You're probably right there, but most people can't afford that.

  • Those horns they use do not put out 180db, maybe 130, my Nathan Airchime REAL K5LA train horns put out about 156db and are much louder then those, if you want the real deal get Nathans or Leslie horns.

  • i want that fuckin thing~ @@@@@

  • got one for sale bro!

  • i hAD TO INSTALL my K5LA and, i recomend having a pressure switch to stop your compressor once it reaches its tank limi, i did n0t see one in this vedio so that sucks, blow up your tank if u dont know what you are doing or if you dont have a in cab pressure guage, still a pressure switch is the better way to go for all set ups, i say.

  • What?

180db is when you go deaf instantly and permanently.

So if you put your ear up to it you'd go deaf instantly forever.

  • for the Horn Button that is :-)

  • I'd prefer a "Momentary-On/Off switch" instead of a "Round Rocker Switch"

  • this still isn't the REAL deal.

  • im going to use this on all of the slow drivers who block traffic and dont move into the slow lane

  • so i just bought an air horn and my old horn solenoid is faulty. The horns worked at first but now they dont so how do i wire the compressor to a flip switch it needs a negative ground and positive relay?

  • A mellow tone(but loud) Nathan P3 is a great train horn. But these aftermarket kits are not too bad.

  • do a series on how to convert your car to electric drive. maybe hook up with evcomponents. com and maybe a battery brand if you're looking for a commercial angle. EVs are all the rage these days

  • This horn is not a real train horn, try a p3 or a k3la Nathan airchime!

  • RamJet, most compressors will just automatically shut off when they're full, no need to really monitor it.

I agree with you on the switches too... I wold have (and did on my truck setup) used a momentary pushbutton to blow the horns. But if the reason for that switch was to match the other, then I would have tapped into the stock horn for it so hiting the horn as normal would set them off.

  • should have used a nathan k5

  • where can you get this kit and for how much

  • look on e bay.. i bought the horns 3 days ago fer 149.99 and 26.00 to ship t my door. not sure bout the tank and compressor cause i already had em

  • what set is being used

  • Good Video.....Extremely informative.

  • niceeee

  • hey, would anyone be able to tell me where I can get a smaller kit like this, that would be able to fit into a 02 Mustang? I'd like to find one with a deeper tone such like the one shown in the video, and not something that is annoyingly high pitched.

  • cool. wat is it doing at 5:41?

  • That's the air compressor filling up the air tank

  • oh. thanks.

  • I heard there was no such thing as a 180db horn, the most is like 160db. Anyways, it's an awesome video, so I can do it myself now!

  • I heard it was completely legal... is it?

  • Yes, if you watch the episode, at about 7:45 I say "they're illegal just about everywhere"

  • Ive heard from other sources that they are perfectly legal... i dont know...

  • Man i wish i saw this before i paid some one to install mine on my f150, but now i can upgrade to bigger louder horns with a bigger tank thanks!!!

  • another idea is the switch that activates the train horns, is to use a temporary switch instead of an on/off flip switch

  • I dont like how you did the switches.. How do you know when the tank is full? The gauge is in the back.. I dont think thats very smart.. I dont care much for how you honk the horn either................... But thats just me..

  • goshhhh man i wish i could just bring my truck to you so you can install my horn for me. my wiring is screwing me up big time lol

  • I like how you guys explaned everything clearly keep it up :)

  • Cool!

    Les

  • I had a set of semi truck air horns mounted to my old b2200. Had them wired through my stock horn button. The whole truck would vibrate when i honked the horn! It was funny seeing the look on people face when they would look around trying to figure out where that huge sound came from. lol

  • cool man i liked this one

  • Love the video! Awesome installation.

  • Another great install Chris! great job with the Fortune Cookie!

  • Yeah, that was really bizarre... all the planets were aligned that day.

  • Very cool install - awesome show! Very good hearing protection run-down.. good call! what happened to HD ?!?!??!?!?!?

hilarious def leppard - rock of ages reference..

  • At the time you watched it, the HD hadn't finished its conversion by YouTube. It's working now.. Thanks for the feedback!

  • ahh gotcha.. I IZ SLOW =B or fast.. one of the two.. lol thank you for the cool video!

  • Safety Goggles how do you use them. Another great clip...

Think I like the fortune cookie the most :)

  • I used the safety goggles when drilling the holes below the bed... metal was flying everywhere! Thanks for watching!

  • After watching this clip I watched a few crazy one's with people mounting BIG airhorns to their LDV's... Had a good laugh...

Safetygoggles.... I was grinding a few years back and had one of the metal pieces embedded in my one eye...

Well needless to say Eur100 further and 4 hours at the hospital and all was ok... Goggles as crazy as it may look do save your eyes...

    Keep up the good videos...

  • There are some crazy videos out there with people doing all sorts of things with train horns... and ship horns.

yup, sometimes safety glasses are a wise thing to do :)
