I keep coming back to this clip-but it strikes me as such an ironic scene-this handsome young man is sweetly singing this beautiful song of wistful and hopeful love-only to be arrested for war crimes by an officer in a clerical collar -and I know all this is based on a true story-OY!!

love this,..i'm sure i watched a interview withalan bleasdale in which he said he needed a song for the show and could remember his grandmother singing this when he was young.he said he was not sure the song fitted the time exactly
