  • This splendid piece generally is heard with a chamber organ continuo part, though this rendition is none the less enjoyable. Some years ago I think that the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble did another version which really enhanced the battle-effects!

  • This is a wonderful performance of a wonderful piece! I haven't been able to find this work online or in my CD collection; I merely recall hearing it on the radio a year or so ago. If you know of a website or CD which includes this piece, I would appreciate it if you could let me know of the name! Thanks, and again, bravo on the great performance!

  • @JewZ99 They did a fantastic job didn't they? I've got a recording by Concordia with this on it. The title of the album is Amorous in Music William Cavendish in Antwerp (1648-1660). The catalogue number is Etcetera KTC 4019.

  • @JewZ99 Also on the Naxos label "The Glory of Early Music." That arrangement sounds like it has an organ continuo if I'm hearing it correctly. It's hard to tell, as my modern ears are not really used to hearing a viol consort.

  • Yippeee, Newark Siege is a great piece! Thank you for your videos!!!
