Road Rash 1's music is simply awesome!! Sierra Nevada's is the best with cowbell and best of all a drum solo!! I never thought I'd headbang to 16 bit music!! Sega Genesis FTW!

I've got to agree with NoMac90. I actually like the soundtrack of Road Rash. I'll admit that it isn't smooth, but I don't see how you can stand to play with just the sound effects.

That's pretty weird, this game soundtrack is a classic to me and EVERYONE of my family. Man, it's Rob Hubbard and Mike Bartlow, especially Rob did a great job in creating music. The problem on this is, it's always clipping and way too loud. On emulators, you can disable the overdrive and the sound is pretty nice. The best songs are PACIFIC COAST and PALM DESERT.

Better yet get it on Game Gear took me forever to get my hands on it I took it on a trip to florida a couple years ago and played my ass off I hypnotised myself in the back of the car staring at my game gear screen listening to the actual highway it'll wear your ass out after awhile of riding and playing....this was my favorite series on the Genesis besides Splatterhouse I still got all three on the Genesis and the two splatterhouses yes I want another cookie i guess good games go get'em!

The Road Rash for 3DO/PC/Playstation/Saturn was the best but the original Genesis titles are still classics. 2 is probably the best on the Genesis though it's only a minor refinement of the first game.

Also in Europe it was called SMD, just in US they had some sort of issue and so they called it Genesis.

All Genesis Road Rush are great, and the greatest, in my opinion, was Road Rush 3. I had Road Rush 3D for the Playstation One and it was fun, but not like their releases on the Genesis.

Awesome review! I love and played all the Road Rash on my Genesis as a kid. I remember playing this more than any other Genesis game on SEGA Channel. Anyone remember SEGA Channel? That was the future then. Anyway, this series does deserve a comeback, as Mark suggested. Skitchin was another great game. It was just like Road Rash, but you're a skateboarder and can skitch the back of cars.

I totally disagree about the music. Rob Hubbard is a legend in computer game music, who can forget the C64's: Commando, Monty on the Run and Thundercats. I thought the music was good for its time and the game was extremely good. I think this is my best version followed by RR2 on the Megadrive. I didn't really care for the other versions. This is one classic Gen raching game that handles well and it was fun hitting someone off their bike with a chain. Love the 'aarrrhhh' when you fall off.
