I'll rent rain any day i'll tell ya. to shoot film. and that flat roof needs periodic maintenance to remain up; or else, one considers its structure compromised.
uptehpunxxx is right, Henryton is in Carroll County. The Carroll/Howard line is the Patapsco River, which is literally over the railroad tracks from Henryton, so its close. But it is in Carroll.
@kayaker11 The entrance to the hospital, Henryton Road, is in Howard County. If you park there, as soon as you cross the creek (heading north) you're in Carroll County. All the main hospital buildings are technically just over the border inside Carroll County. If you have Google Earth on your PC, run it and search for "Henryton State Hospital, MD." Then make sure the box for the layer "Borders & Labels/Borders/2nd Level Admin Regions (Counties)" is checked. You'll see what I mean!
The entrance may have been in Howard County at one time (I don't know the history of it that well) when the road crossed the creek, but now I'd consider the "main entrance" the gate that's on the Carroll County Henryton Rd, since thats the only real roadway that goes into the complex. Why theres a Henryton Rd in CL and HO, I'm not sure haha. Have you been there at night much? I haven't, thats gotta be creepy. Any suggestions on where to park to avoid the cops? Or are they much of a problem there
Urban decay is a beautiful process. The buildings and factories once bustling with clients and workers are left silent; rotting in their foundations, forgotten by the rest of the world which has moved on, erasing the structure from it's memory.
Those steps your walking on at the end of this video, Me and two guys I was with were walking up those from the first floor and something was following us up those steps and as soon as I took the turn to head up on the roof I heard a really deep, faint voice

keep taking ya'll chancez on that roof...one day that building might colapse and whoever iz exploring it will die and wont be found for a while.

@eazily6executed Why? The building is old, but it's structurally sound. I think your concern is exaggerated.
