  • If what you say is correct, then i am feeling bad for these types. This world is alien to you and your foes.

  • Great news folks - Marshall Street Dojo is reopening next year under Chris Raye

  • @fujicolt Hi Steve,

yes, Thursday 20th Jan Craig will be opening the revered dojo once more.

Can't think of anyone more suited to re-launch the club!

  • Hi Rod, thank you for your answer. Graham Richardson, yes, this sounds familiar to me. Please say hello to him, when you see'll him next time. It's a pretty long time ever since. A prize? Why not? Either a self-illuminated rubber chocolate cookie, or a beer when I will be in London the next time. But this might last until I'll be back on the short-haul flights and have the chance to visit LHR again.

Never mind the hair, as a good picture doesn't need a frame. ;-)

    Take care and cheers.

    OSS, Dirk

  • Well done Magicmitts for putting this video online. Its a great way to remember Sensei Enoeda - his power, his teaching and of course his humour.

    Rod Butler. Shotokan-Karate-England

  • I've trained at Marshall Street in 1994 during my semester as a german exchange student in London. My farewell training was on June, 17 1994, when I graded my 1st kyu under Sensei Enoeda. I will never forget that privilege.

Joining his classes, gave me the realisation to make a step ahead on the lifelong road of karate-do.

    I still remember some faces.

Does anybody know who the fine gentleman with the dark beard is, who is coming into the picture from the left at time 3:05?

    Goodbye Sensei Enoeda.

  • How nice to see Sensei Enoeda and Craig ! What a nice surprise.

I'm French, maybe Craig will remember me.

I Trained at Kingston University from 1995 until 1997.

I had the privilege to be graded Purple Belt by Sensei Enoeda.

Craig was an impressive teacher but always nice and humble.

I'll never forget both of them.

    Bonne continuation !

  • Exellent Channel!! Oss

  • WOW! this is so good! I had a session with Sansei Craig last week in Chelsea. It was a great pleasure! Oss

  • Silly question but how DO you pronounce Enoeda? I've heard different pronunciations and I'm not sure, would appreciate if someone could set me straight, thanks

  • The most common pronunciation I've heard is "en-oh-AY-dah", four syllables, emphasis on the third. I wouldn't vouch for that, though...hopefully someone fluent in Japanese can confirm or correct that for us.

  • wow! Just came across this. I was training at Marshall street at this time 5 nights a week. Took me straight back remembering getting beaten up by Craig (Raye) and Elwyn (Hall) on a regular basis. I've been beaten up by the best:-)

  • Hey Paul...I've been looking for you!!....I must have done the same search you did and found this video then your comment

    Anton Tony Straughan

  • He headbutted Enoeda! The nerve! What's this clip from?

  • lol, sensei was such a joker he probably set that up himself!! legend..

  • He granted me Shodan in 1990, when I was just ten. I idolised sensei but was scared stiff of him also.

  • I've tried 6 times to watch this video and it tends to take forever to load and it never gets past 1/2 way

  • Managed to watch it finally

    Well presented

  • i train the Canadaian Champian in the 1999

  • Enoeda Sensei was a Real samurai.

Beside this he was a gentleman.

Shotokan Karate and Enoeda Sensei were sinonimous.

  • Just wonderful. I graded with Sensei a number of times when I trained in Plymouth. He used to scare me silly but always rewarded for working hard. This video made me both happy and sad at the same time. I'm so, so glad I had the opportunity. Thanks for posting this.

  • I love this video! It's great! Never thought Sensei Enoeda had a very good sense of humor, haha, love it! He's really human! I laughed at the last part......really very great Sensei....haayyy.....just regretful I will never have the chance to train with him...

  • hands down the best karate teacher the UK has ever seen, sensei enoeda inspired so many people and taught them how to unleash the tiger within. but he was the most masterful and feircest tiger of all...yet one with a cracking sense of humour. What a legend...Sorely missed.

  • Good Video. O reporter é muito parecido com o Rei Pelé do Brasil (jogador de futebol).

    Oss.

  • We still love you Shihan Enoeda

  • Had many great moments with the great man and many laughs with him, I miss him like mad, brings a tear to my eye just typing this.

  • Great to see sensei Enoeda is so fondly remembered, I was lucky enough to train with him on a few courses - he made a real impression on me, although I no longer train in the martial arts the attitude has stayed with me.

  • Lot of lazy sidekicks in Sensei Enoedas Dojo that day (-:.

  • Great site !!!

  • Long time ago i`ve trained at Marshall Street with Enoeda. Fantastic man. In this video was nice to see Craig Raye. He will not remember me. But i never forget him. Craig was the best Karate, and for that martial artist i have ever seen. Sometimes he took the classes. They were great.I am sure Enoeda where he is in heaven is proud of Craig. I know practise kickboxing and jujitsu but i will never forget Enoeda and Craig.

  • Lumamofecare - thanks for the comments - I'll let Craig know. I train with him now at Kawasoe sensei's dojo, and he teaches there sometimes - excellent classes.

  • Much loved and much missed XXX

  • A scary man who taught me much during the 70s and 80s. I really miss him and owe him a lot. RIP Sensei.

  • A powerfull man, indeed.

    thanks for the video.

  • Excellent ! Shows Sensei's sense of humour

  • lol, good video.
