I loved the dance sequence and the performance/originality of it but I was almost repulsed by the climax. Haha no pun intended. Was this recorded out of context?
It probably was a mix made by BC/EFA directly (they usually make their own mixes/tracks for the events), since it was a fusion of Julie Andrews and Gwen Stefani's versions.
cant believe some of the comment i've read below, get your heads out of your own arses and learn to laugh. this clip is pure entertianment, escapism and bloody funny, congrats to the show
hes nothing more then a male prostitute, and one that lacks any talent at that. any respectable actor would never do this, even if it is in the name of 'charity', completely shameless
@gayzertube Apparently most of the bad comments were removed....but I love Murder she wrote...that person who thinks this video is shameless probably would not like Murder she wrote, if they knew that Angela Lansbury is very open minded about her Broadway family.
wow you're a total idiot. BROADWAY BARES is one of the biggest charity events of the season, Harvey Fierstein, Idina Menzel, Davis Gaines, all of them have taken part in BARES. You need to seriously do a little research before you start calling people "shameless" and unrespectable.
chad to be honest i dont really care who was in it. its in total bad taste, the show exhibits the very sexual exuberance that leads to aids- the cause its fighting against, tis in very bad taste consequently.
You honestly find it hard to think past the end of your own nose, don't you? It is not in bad taste, it is an attraction and one of many during the course of a Broadway season that raises tons of money for its cause. What leads to aids is lack of education on the subject, the fear that you yourself exhibit that shows that sex is a taboo that is meant to be kept quiet, when its not. It is a part of life.
chad i whole heartedly agree with you that aids is spread, particularly in developing countries, through a lack of education and safe sex practicises.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
nevertheless, it its undeniably also spread by sexual promiscuity, a loose style of living, which is often linked to a lack of contraception/safe sex practice. this show revels revels, even celebrates,
Last I looked, Africa wasn't a hotbed of Burlesque. So trying to link this with AIDS is a bit of a stretch. In Africa, AIDS is predominantly spread by people denying their sexuality and not talking about it. Which is the opposite of this.
even if it does generate money for worthwhile causes. celebrating Sexual exuberance to fight a sexually transmitted disease sounds paradoxical, even oxymoronic. i also question the intelligence of people who pay to go to these shows, they are clearly degenrates who crave cheap titillation, and probably lack the intellect to appreciate finer forms of art. leave this kind of vuylgarity to pornos and sex shows, not the theatre.
What you are doing is the equivalent of blaming rape victims for wearing provocative clothing. This is the ultimate in safe sex - it's all visual and there's no way in hell you're ever going to sleep with any of them. As for the intelligence factor...I'll bet I've seen more theater in the past month than you have in several years, yet I enjoyed this cheap 'titillation' (ironic choice of words, as tits were the last thing I was looking for). And how much time and money have you donated?
AND FURTHER MORE if there were more resources available to young people and even some adults then there wouldn't be near as much teen pregnancy or STD's running rampant.
The whole show is available on a professionally shot and edited DVD (much better quality than this). It's done to benefit BC/EFA and can be purchased through Broadway Beat's website
as a gay man, I find the last 10 seconds disgusting!

this sexual promisicuity, that often leads to aids. As an African, the continent most inflicted by aids, i therefore find it in very bad taste,

Sexual exuberance doesn't lead to AIDS as long as one uses the proper precautions.
