  • Awesome.

  • Great video !

  • whoa, nice escape!

  • with this video the police can't say you broke in

  • A bit more of the story told. Thanks.

  • My brother did not "make it out"; he was charged with "failure to disperse" and "resisting arrest", both misdemeanors, and then, the coup de grâce, "burglary", a felony. YUP. Everyone inside was charged with burglary. What was taken? Nothing. This system out in Oakland? Messed up. They finally dropped the charges temporarily, to investigate, but my brother did nothing wrong. He marched. He neither broke, damaged, nor stole anything.

  • ever notice how all the "truth telling" vids on youtube stop buffering after a few sec. but other ones such as, oh lets say, Mitt romney vids dont...?

  • I salute those who appear in these videos.

I suggest eliminating from our personal lives every product we don' t need, on an incremental basis, thereby

    starving the monster.

but the problem with this idea is it makes too much sense.

better to stand in front of the cannon and admit they have you corraled.

If I sound a bit confrontive, critical,

    I'm cool with that.

    Thanks, great work really.

  • thank you for video! great Job !

  • thank you for video! great Job !

  • Thank you, All of you at occupy oakland. your bravery in the face of these violent actions astounds me every time. Were I less destructively ill, I'd like to think id be there with you. If nothing else, you all ahve my eternal gratitude for standing up for those of us so harmed by the 1% and their minions.

  • Submit this video in defence of those arrested at trial

  • History repeats itself? No joke. Ever heard of the tennis court oath?

  • thank you YMCA!

  • Thank you for your bravery and for uploading the footage.

  • @ 1:45 the police charge the kettled marchers with Billy clubs - TERRORISING the crowd!

  • Now this IS MEDIA,

    take a lesson on TRUTH

    NBC FOX ABC CNN MSNBC

    YOU ALL F K D UP!

Great Job w VID - glad you made it out,

I've bn through ths crap B4 in Houston

Taking over the GOP Convention. Dam!

  • So the cops lied about the B&E? Figures

  • Thank you! I've linked it to another post, the truth will come out!

  • Did they use the workout equipment or do the hot tub?

  • The MSM keeps repeating that protestors tried to occupy the YMCA. That is clearly untrue. The Media is also saying that occupy burned a flag, commited vandalism and attacked police. That is also clearly untrue when you watch the video. Those burning the flag and attacking police were Anarchists, who are not part od occupy but show up at protests. If you look at the video they are holding shields with a huge "A" painted on them. They also wear bandanas, usually black. They are not occupy people.

  • @chaoszen1 you are wrong about anarchists not being a part of occupy oakland. they are, indeed, occupants. true that msm is constantly publishing lies right outta the mouths of opd, though.

  • If I were the Mayor of Oakland I would immediately close the doors on the YMCA for aiding and abetting of known criminals. The police informed all over the loud speaker that they were under arrest. The YMCA should be punished to the fullest degree for what they did. By the way you idiots started the violence by throwing crap at the police who were there to do their jobs. Force is only put down through FORCE. Michael Moore should also be brought up on charges for in-sighting a riot .

  • @hlnwlf1 The job of the police is certainly not suppressing First Amendment rights of Assembly and redress of grievances. They were arresting people for "unlawful assembly". That is a contradiction in terms. The right of Assembly is guaranteed by the First Amendment. It is a right that trumps all others. They had 5 murders in Oakland on the 29th, the police should have been working on those instead of harrassing lawful protestors.

  • @chaoszen1 yup, one of 'em was down the street from me... heard the shots. took opd an hour to arrive, so i hear.

  • @hlnwlf1 Nice job; calling people idiots while accusing them of "in-sighting" a riot is always effective. Tell me: If I buy a gun, may I "in-sight" you? Nah, you're not worth the waste of ammo. I'll just INCITE you with my reply instead. Not that it will bring you any INSIGHT.

  • @hlnwlf1 fag

  • Obviously the police actions caused the panic. The OPD are basically are saying if you choose to support (and hang with) #OWS that makes you a criminal. Some know who caused the violence, and it wasn't all 400 people. This shows well the utter STUPIDITY of OPD commanders. BTW those trapped inside were charged with breaking and entering--a felony charge that can ruin your life.

  • @MLKstudios no worries on the felony, methinks. there is no evidence of b & e at all. the big charges, eventually, will be against opd. unfortunately many of us were traumatized (again) by their actions.

  • Great video, thank you. Two questions: what time did this happen? And how did the door get opened?

  • @bornofstardust I believe this happened around 8pm. The YMCA employees opened all of the doors and welcomed us in so we could go out the back door.

  • @pfailblog please, please tell me if there is an email address for me to get you in touch with attorneys for those arrested, and for all of us! glad to have found this. if you saw anyone else with video of the doors getting opened that would be great, especially since there seems to be an edit on this video just at that moment. thanks.

  • @pfailblog At 0:36, you can clearly hear a woman's voice saying, "I have a YMCA card."

The best evidence is that at no point can we hear anyone inside claiming these people were unwelcome, either.

  • i hope the employees don't get in trouble.

  • The Occupy movement helped to divert attention from some of Obama's and Holder's problems, but not by much. The press does not report much--too petty and nasty a bunch to cover. Why bother. ~They do cause a lot of unnecessary expense. If they were smart enough to champion a worthwhile cause they could round up some backing, do a bit of good.

  • @Marily2511 Occupy champions all sorts of good causes. Maybe you should read up on it. You might start with checking out occupyourhomes.

  • It isn't always fun to stay at the YMCA...

  • the occupy idea had potential. but it has turned petty

  • @mizzoulibertarian What do you suggest then? Sit down and do nothing? Because voting is obviously not working.

  • @DragonFire1024 voting for the average democrat or average republican will not work. they are part of the same party. However running in the primary against a democrat would be effective with a good candidate and a more populist appeal. you just got started. run primary challanges against democrats supporting the banks. we did that in kentucky (and many more locally. antiwar libretarian conservitives.) Hold money bombs for the candidates to match corporate donations. Peace

  • @mizzoulibertarian Money doesnt grow on trees. The corporations have it, how do we get a hold of a 'money bomb'. The occupy movement will grow, watch - the summer when all the students get out of class are coming for these fuckers. Its ridiculous the way protesters are being treated, UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

  • @ajb77 15 thousand people donate at least 25 dollars to a campaign on one day. maybe you skip some meals. I did and I know others who have. Look to Dennis Kucinich and marcy kaptur. they are smart candidates who appeal to a broad group. yeah the cops are getting heavy handed but they are all on roids . always have been. you need more specific goals to communicate. you have occupied. now figure out whats next.

  • @mizzoulibertarian What is next is that we actually set up communes and continue protesting until we are too big to be ignored. Oakland has the right idea. I see Oakland, LA, NYC, and DC being the central spots from this point forward. I see us making progress, we DO need to get action in congress/senate/local gov., but I see July/August

  • @mizzoulibertarian being a turning point with September having a first step of change. Maybe its just wishful thinking - if the government/police continue to militarize against the public demonstrators then it will get brutal and take longer...

  • @mizzoulibertarian right now 15 thousand people need to donate at least 25 dollars to occupy oakland bail and legal funds.

  • @wiseoldsnail thats a start. then have them go to peoples homes with info on how the gov. enters into "free trade" agreements which sell out american jobs. tell them to call they're member of congress to oppose the doha agreement. best of all run a primary challenge against free trade congress members

  • @mizzoulibertarian we are educating people all day every day. why do you think they're cracking down on us so hard, eh?

  • @DragonFire1024 and beware of being coopting by the democrats or those who want to start violance. that works into the hands the wall street snakes whose friends in the mainstream media will manipulate it to discredit you to middle class americans.

  • @mizzoulibertarian so you call decades of police violence against the people of oakland petty? you might wanna get yer head checked.

  • @wiseoldsnail i didn't call police violence petty. i think fighting the cops works into the hands of powers to be . they can manipulate what happens to they're advantage. please

  • @wiseoldsnail my head feels fine

  • FUCK THE PIGS
