My friend used to own one of these until he wrecked it a couple months back. These were such shit cars and it never hit 40 mpg, Toyota's claim is bullshit. A couple hours in this car and your ass will need an ice pack too. The Yaris also never had enough hp either, making acceleration and even hill climbing kind of an issue.

I absolutely love my electric blue, four-door Yaris sedan to pieces.

It's wonderfully safe and fuel-efficient and it's very easy to park, and perhaps best of all is the insane amount of trunk space. For such a small car, it certainly does have a lot of room.

Honestly, I wouldn't rather have any other car in the world.

The previous generation Toyota ECHO and Toyota Vios are much better cars than todays generic Toyota Yaris and Vios which are actually both identical and the same design cars. The only difference the name and their market target.

The reason why cars get less gas mileage now is because of the increase in safety requirements. Things like airbags greatly weigh down cars and thus get worse gas mileage.

Yes, just different names in different markets.

For the sedan it appears it's called Yaris in America and Canada, Belta in Japan, and Vios in other parts of Asia. The hatchback is called Yaris in America (only available in a 3 door hatch so as not to compete with the similiar Scion xA/xD, which are 5 door hatches, which are/were both sold as the Toyota ist in Japan), Canada, and Europe (available in both a 3 and 5 door in both), and Vitz in Japan.
