  • USA has a larger fan base for POLICE cars and INTERCEPTORS and Muscle cars they have fans that are very interested

    think outside the square

the PONTIAC GT was considered the overtaken by the GM HOLDEN CAPRICE

    ...CHEVROLET CAPRICE

  • I think its sad that "American Pontiac" cant design there own vehicle and has to take Holden SSV look! Pontiac G8 looks just like a Holden SSV except for the front of the G8

  • SecularTechnology

IT's NOT A F^&%$# INTERCEPTOR. POLICE INTERCEPTOR IS A FORD COINED TERM.

  • INTERCEPTOR was around since 1950 @monaro69GTS Jensen Interceptor (1950)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia see Jensen Interceptor.

    Manufacturer Jensen

    Production 1950-1957 88 produced

The first generation of Jensen Interceptor was the second car to be made by Jensen Motors after World War II and was produced from 1950 to 1957. Jensen later reused the name for a different car (built from 1966 and revived several times after that).

  • IT's NOT A FUCKING INTERCEPTOR. POLICE INTERCEPTOR IS A FORD COINED TERM.

    FUCK

  • FINALLY!!! someone tells the world aussies designed the american pontiac g8 except we call it a holden commodore plus we designed thier 09'caprice,08'cruze n another chevy its a hatchback well we call it the holden barina

  • @MrHeyfuckoff Commodore designed here, the Cruze and Barina are peices of crap designed and built in the GM Daewoo plant in Korea. The Barina is just a Daewoo Karlos rebranded.

  • @Ansett76 and also the Spark, Captiva,Epica and Viva are also Daewoo crap. Holden needs to start re-importing the Euro Opel models again like Astra etc as apart from the Commodore their options are lagging behind many other brands such as Ford. If you compare and drive a Fiesta to Barina, Mondeo to a Epica or a Focus to a Cruze, then Ford will win on all three counts.

  • It's about time Pontiac had a well made car, I'm glad to see something made in Australia.

  • Its not called the holden commodore in America, Its the pontiac g8 its basically a commodore with a different emblem, Steering set up and front Bumper.

  • Comment removed

  • @Andy9742 FYI If you read at the start of the video, it said "Victoria Police at Melbourne motor show" (Australia). So it was not in America.

  • this thing looks better than that goofy ass looking caprice PPV theyre starting in the US this year

  • Anyone seen the Holden Commodore LAPD Police Car concept?

  • Featured in A MOTOR MAGAZINE this month STREET MACHINES I think

  • as a PONTIAC G8 featured in STREET MACHINES MAGAZINE this month with a wild monaro custom on the cover

  • i have and its better looking than this, in fact the new zealand highway patrol looks better than this

  • @crazygrainger2006 yes but its not the commodore model

  • thats a ve ss nott a g8

  • exact the same thing, he knows that. He is just showing the American people wat the G8 is based on.

  • I love these cars don't get me wrong and I know all the lights arnt working but it looks a little old age for me? If the Police force are going to get new Holdens atleast kit them up more. Few lights in the window like the New Zealand police Holdens. And no... Im not saying our cop cars are much better lol.

  • this wont pass as a cop car and if it does the guy who passes it is an idiot the from bumper is too low

  • @gp8383 These cars are used all over the country as police cars,

  • Lol.

The Pontiac brand has been cut, because of GM's financial trouble.

    Along with Saturn....

  • "carbon e7" is the future

  • American Police Departments should ditch the California Black and Whites for the checkerboard patterns on the cop cars!

  • I would love for the U.S. to have green and white cars..Green is my favorite color..If the U.S. started using the Brit checkerboard scheame they'd be confused for taxis..Besides Checker boards just look weird on patrol cars where that's not usually used..It would be interresting though if the U.S. did adobt checkboards XD.

  • Australian cop cars would have to be best looking cars, thats tuff!

  • Police spec highway patrol- SS Commodore post from a Aussie forum 1994 VR Commodore Highway Patrol

    QUOTE- Commodore VR SS BT1

AND YES the cops did do engine work on my car . It has pacemaker extractors, full straight through twin exhaust, heades ported to police specs, police high comp flat top pistons, cran cam 284, perforamce springs, lifters, valves ect. rollmaster timing set, transcooler, torquepower dual pane manifold with efi hardware 1000cc throttle body and k&n donut type air filter

  • How come the bottom tier is only lighting up?..What about the top part?

  • PolizeiPaul the top of the lightbar, which has LEDs and strobes, isn't on while on display as it draws power and the motor isn't running. Hence why the grille LEDs aren't on either.

  • work let me drive a 307 gts, I understand my im not allowed to drive them on my red P's. they fly

  • HERE, it is still a holden mate, why did you call it a PONTIAC ?? It even has a HOLDEN badge.

  • Because the 2 are basically the same vehicle..Pontiac=Holden=Chevorlet=Saturn=Opel=GMC.

  • Sure, but hey are not the same vehicle. Certainly the U.S exports have different exterior dress and different dash and other factors. As does the Vauxall, they really are not the same thing though i see your point i think it'd best just Holden as it is badged that way anyway. Anyway, what sort of HP at the wheels if it is a PURSUIT ?

  • man id hate to be chased by that

  • Why the hell do you call that a Pontiac? Its a Holden Commodore, not the G8.

How the hell can you be such a fan if you can't even get the names of simple vehicles like this right.

  • @Spas117 I suspect it's to get the attention of G8 fans. A few G8 fans keep saying that it looks better than its Commodore parent without even looking

  • Its a HOLDEN not Pontiac.

  • thats not a g8

  • It's holden commodore (Australian car). G8 is based on holden commodore.

  • thats not a g8

  • As with many other places the police in my city have Charger RT's. Wonder how long it will be until they get these because these cost less and are better.

  • Actually, the G8 GT is cheaper and slightly faster than the Charger RT.

  • Thats what I meant. I wonder when the police here will get the G8's. Worded it wrong I guess. Also I noticed that in the 2 months since I commented here that there are still Aussie's bitching. Look the wheel was moved to the other side and its OUR 6.0 under the hood. No longer a Holden..now a Pontiac. Get over it people. Anyway, thanks for pointing that out man because I dont want it to look like I would rather have the charger because for me its the G8 anyday.

  • Steering wheel is on the right hand side of the car, not the left.

You can see the rised part of the dash from the front and from the rear shot if youlook you'll see the upper part of the steering wheel through the window it's on the right hand side.

also the bonnet would be different US people prefer the nose cut outs rather than have none.

  • the 6.0 l v8 is made in canada

  • pray to god they dont get em in tha states

  • they spelt police the wrong way on the bonnet But You Can't Expect All Police Officers Not To Be Incompetent

  • its so when you look in the mirror it says police the right way

  • How dumb can u get

  • the way you talk about americans stealing the badge, like we never decided to bring you ford or chevy.

  • it just means that our domestic brands can't come up with a original design. I wish they would, a grand old make like Chevy, with it's performance pedigree, rather than some trucks. Did we forget the meaning of Super Sport?

  • BLOODY PIGS

  • That's not a G8 GT.

  • Yeah, GM in the US likes to take standard Aussie models, rebadge them, and sell them as a US SPECIALs. Like how the production Holden Monaro became the limited edition Pontiac GTO(looked like my old '91 grand am). Eventually, it'll be a G8 GT

  • The styling on the G8 GT is different.

  • it looks like it has the marking of the vauxhall, remember vauxhall has the cars here in the us just they change exterior, interior design, engine is replaced by another US engine or kept the same,

  • @nyko944 The Vauxhall VXR8 in Australia is a rebadged version of the Holden Special Vehicles VE Clubsport R8. This car is a VE SS Commodore, the top of the line sports model from within Holden
