  • I love this band.

  • if FAMU was a SWAC band man oh man nighas would be in trouble!

  • GOD!!! they made the field look so damn small o.O

  • @WolfFang54 THATS BECAUSE THE MIDDLE OF THE FEILD IS ONLY TO THE 30

  • @678mrj I'm saying as far as width not length

  • That's that 007 at the end

  • I like the Batman feel towards the end fucking great

  • i LOVE FAMU and This Arrangment . . . . .But Morris Brown's is Better I Still love thee 100 i was expecting a lil more

  • that dont make no sence yoll dat big sc state fan but yoll cant get it like bcu and sc state can

  • playing loud doesnt make you good. control and muscianship makes a good band. im guessing you were in high school when you wrote this

  • FAMU has ALWAYS played everything Clean and crisp. Probably the most MUSICALLY talented Marching Band in all of the HBCU's. Anyone can take music and crank it but it takes discipline for a band this size to play with such accuracy.

  • mellophones @ 1:52!! Beast

  • Im a Graduate of Alabma St,, but damn dis is hard for a band to play this like they doin!!!!

  • GSU nigga. i thought you knew.

  • BCU all day! Famu is 2nd best band in FLA now!

  • grambling, southern and st.aug high school in da n.o. are beast shit lsu's band is good!! LOUISIANA BANDS ARE THE SHIT!!

  • not as good as VSUs in the tunnel.. :D VSU all day baby!!

  • thats a big a** band, i bet the sound is incredible with a good quality video with good quality sound

  • @KryptoBanshee75 um if you are referring to dhat so call sex tape shot at famu...no that did not happen at famu they weren't even famu students they are paid pornstars

  • vsu's version is way better but i like this version to

  • great arrangement. great well-balanced sound.

  • @USCSAX90 i agree

  • dIS JNK IZ FIRE

  • Get job not to over-blow but that don't mean that you hold back, still play out just don't over do it. All those people, really not impressed.

  • this sounds like james bond

  • damn......yall killed it in a good way! man desoto high school in texas will beast on this song but not this...were also alot smaller

  • desoto. wtf. not tryna rib yall but dallas area skools dont really hav bands lik dhis

  • ...REALLY!!!! desoto is one of the best a 40yr plus legacy.....never lost a compition before marching or music so check before you say stuff like that desoto is the best

  • not dha same marching style duck

  • should that matter.....

  • it does. some bands main goal is 2 be loud. some r to jux sound good

  • we play loud but we sound good and we march almost flawlessly with a few freshman who just flat out suck but what do expect from a freshman

  • lol all the comments that complement FAMU are getting thumbed down and all that sat Tuskeegee get thumbs up

  • betta luck next tyme FAM, cusz SKEGEE KILLED THIISZ SONG they sound way betta than thiisz and way more CRUNK famu big as shyt but sound like CRAP!!! no disrespect!! HA!

  • yep

  • Man can the tubas take it up before the band comes in blastin damn smh

  • At the end it sounded like James Bond music...

  • In fact it is the James Bond music reason being was to poke fun at Tenn St. Because that is one of their major songs that they are known for.

  • i LOVE FAMU gee's && there band

sounds GREAT, thats a HUGE band!

&& there sound is GREAT! very

    talented b a n d!

  • if FAMU cranked like most otha HBCU bands they wuld be loud, P O W E R F U L L, and nearlyy untouchable ..

  • have you heard them live? they are untouchable and loud. there is over 400 of them now.

  • yea their band is off the chain...I was in RIMS camp and got to sit in on some of the summer band camp

  • holy cow! that is a LOT of tubas!

  • This sounds good but I like Tuskegee's arrangement better

  • nothing about Tuskegee's band should be mentioned in the same sentence as FAMU....period! End of discussion

  • You sound immature and ridiculous!

  • Ha! yeah right...for you to say that Tuskegee has a better arrangement is ridiculous! Does anybody even care about Tuskegee's band??? No!

  • Keep proving me right!

  • Honestly FAMU is one of the only schools that can play 400 degrees,, simply because they have such a strong low brass presence and their trumpets know they dont have 2 scream to be loud and impressive

  • FAMU will forever be off the chain...no matter what anyone says.

  • FAMU is just simply synonomous with greatness. These guys can hang with basically any group in the country and sit all but a very few down decisively. I'm an Auburn band alum, and my biggest regret of my time at Auburn is that we never could schedule FAMU. I'd have loved to have had both the Auburn Band and the FAMU band together on the same day in the same stadium. Nothing but respect from us tigers, folks...

  • WAR EAGLE!!!! Yeah, it would have been amazing if Auburn could have gotten FAMU scheduled to play them. Florida was lucky enough. You should go look up the videos from that game. FAMU tore it up!!!

  • Any time you have two Sudler trophy winners in the same stadium it is a magical experience. We routinely saw LSU, Georgia, and Alabama, and it was entertaining for both the fans and the bands. If FAMU ever came to Jordan Hare, it would be a wonderful display of a lot of the top band talent in the southeast. The thing is that FAMU is just a bit different style from what we normally get to see. It would have been fun to be able to do a number with the combined bands, too!

  • Yeah, I know all about the different styles of marching. My freshman and sophomore years I had a band director that marched snare at auburn and my junior and senior years, I had a band director that marched tenors for FAMU. So I was lucky enough to have the best of both worlds.

  • No kidding. Lucky you. I'm a proud alum of the program at Auburn, but everybody has to admit FAMU is and always will be off the charts.

Just out of curiosity, who was the Auburn guy? It's possible I know him. You don't have to answer that here. You could just do that by PM if you would rather.

  • Yeah, it was pretty cool. I love both styles of marching and playing.

  • Great arrangement.

  • mellos at 1:53

  • I was going to say that lol. Beautiful. :0

  • Wow they band is enormous

  • way to listen the real song and write it accordingly. The only other band i know that does this is TSU. Balance is the key. GO tSU.

  • also might i ask , about how many people are in the band

  • in this video... there is about 210 members... 64 of which are brass players excluding the tubas. From the past 2008 season, the "100" had about 420 members.

  • who else do you think is a good band besides famu

  • there are alot of "good" bands out there... but bands that are "consistent" year in and year out other than FAMU... in my opinion... is tennessee state, southern, jackson state and bethune-cookman. Im sure there are others, but being "good' and being "consistent" are two different things.

Anyone can be "good" for one or two years... but it takes more than being "good" for a few years to be the creme of the crop

  • AMEN TOO THAT!!!!

  • for them to have a band this size they dont play to the fullest ... su , asu, and jsu will blow just about as loud as famu if not louder and famu's band is way bigger

  • There is more to a band than volume. The 100 has a different sound concept than most bands. The 100 goal is to play with good intonation, blend & balance w/ each instruement supporting each other not about how "loud" one can be. Secondly, unlike most swac bands, the 100 isnt mostly brass. Yes, we have alot of brass, but its evened out with our woodwinds. Bigger brass=bigger sound. But if u go 2 a game (not youtube) and stand in front of the 100, you will see just how POWERFUL the 100 really is.

  • however, i challenge you to type in "FAMU WIND ENSEMBLE" in the search box and you can see and hear what we strive for here in everything we do... including the marching band. We strive for musicality in everything we do and we wont trade in musicality for a "louder" sound.

  • @hhorns2002 agree with you on that one. I get tired of hearing about who plays loudest. Some people I guess do not know the difference between sound and noise. I have been a fan of the 100 since 89 when I saw them for the first time. I am a long time musician and love the quality, not the quantity of a piece. I can say there is no one in the SWAC I can say would musically or could hold a candle to the way they play REAL MUSIC!!!

  • @tubaboy2011 dude...just because they don't doesn't mean they don't have the capacity to...if FAMU ever play to the max each band you mentioned sitting across from them would pack up and go home...that's just not their style, goal, or the way they design their program...with a 400 piece band you simply don't have a bust a blood vessel to make a impact. thanks

  • @tubaboy2011 Loud doesn't necessarily equate to nice sound!

  • @tubaboy2011 Blending and Blasting are two different things, my friend!

  • They arent loud? Compared to who? These guys have a nice CLEAN sound. Lets give credit where its due. People on here always hatin on a FAMU, BCU, Norfolk etc. at least we are represented

    "The negativity must cease"

  • people talk about how good they are but i dont see it ... everybody is always on their nutz its all about alabama state

  • i hate famu ... the suck .... they have like the biggest band ever and they dont even play that loud ..... they suck ass

  • youve CLEARLY never heard them in real life because if you had you would not have said that

  • wow can someone tell me the tuba notes for this song!? this is great

  • DANG, they take up 1/2 the field!!!

  • . . . . . this band has a ridiculous number of people. . . i thought they were called marching 100 for 100 people. thats way past 100.

  • This is a nice size band. The 08 edition is huge.

  • morris brown and redan sound betta than this shit!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF!!!! REDAN!!! REALLY?!?!?!?

    please stop!

  • VA STATE VERSION IS BETTER

  • for da person saying stephenson is da best in Ga cuz of famu's arrangement is a lie. i go to Brooks and we have da same arrangement as Famu. we just don't have to put our shit on youtube to get publicity like all da rest. try getting invited to huge bowl games adn then get back at me saying dat they are da best. nigga please

  • EVERYONE gets invited to bowl games. and sorry but i never heard of brooks.

    keep workin on that

  • a college band is better than a middle school. then a high school. then middle school.

  • i agree with the college being better than middle school but there are some middle school bands that are better than high school bands

  • Comment removed

  • hell yeah stephenson we fye

  • MILLER GROVE!!!!!

  • ....stfu.....

  • kill you self two times. i can get 1 person on every instrument in my band to blow your whole middle school away.

  • honestly, i dont care. my middle school got sum amateaurs on they horns. what school you goto anyway?

  • yall would would have to be there to get it famu comes across on tape soft but in person as i have wittnessed you will get drowned out by there sound

  • go saxes!! wat sax u play???

  • well u lost that dime because play 400 better than this performace

  • lol he only says this because hes never heard them in person...once you hear them in person you gonna wanna delete everything you just said

  • ive heard them in person but really i dont care its just a band

  • oh sure now its just a band

  • im saying really i dont care lol im not about to argue over bands lol i could care less about what band is louder or sounds better lol im just in it to get into college

  • This song is suppose to get you hype, like the original Juvenile version. Good sound quality, but so lacking SOUL. I like MBC version better.

  • Is this at Phillips?

  • Yes this was at Phillips like it is every year

  • arena football field?????

  • that field to small 4 them

  • DAMN FAMU DEEP AZ SSHIT

  • yall big for nothing

  • LOL!!

  • lol true they barely louder than my band

  • yea this is nice

  • i like how they played TxSU song at the end

    that shit is the jam

    the lil 007 song. .

    i like the transition

  • Stop hating cause they turining lilly white ideas into something black.

  • Thats not the the type arrangement I'm used to hearing. but I understand and respect FAMU's approciate play a song with true quality and precision without sounding a mess. That was aight.

  • Im feelin this arrangement

  • Okay it's different. F Minor im feelin this

  • no body cant tell me famu aint da shyt

  • It is indeed a "Historically Black College University."

  • no theyre asian actually.... dum ass -_-

  • MY FAVORITE SONG...

  • Although I'm a die hard WILDCAT, I still have mad love for FAMU and this is great arrangement!!!

  • To all you DUMB FUCKS out there, FAMU incorporates quality sound into their music and lets you hear EVERY section in their songs. Just because your eardrums aren't borderline nonexistent when you listen to this through your borderline noexistent SPEAKERS doesn't mean they aren't playing good music. But for all you people who think that FAMU ca't crank go listen to this clip and maybe...just maybe your hating asses will SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • Was this really age appropriate? Do you really feel the need to perpetuate drama? Are you a musician? If so, you would appreciate all feedback be it constructive or destructive and use it to build a better band and a better sound!

  • Thats pretty straight...imma swac person tho

  • its all about the MEAC!!! 101 4 eva!

  • My goodness it is alot of them.... That's a good sound for it to be so many people:)

  • SWEET!

  • i like how they incorporated the JAMES BOND theme in there

  • i was tryin S000 HARD t0 figure 0ut what that was... L0L.. thats h0tttt...

  • famu iz so dam fresh 4real str8 up HUBBA Z!

  • mane... yall some haters... FAMU u {my future college startin in 09} will blast on any band... u can see dey not even playin out cuz no 1 is takin big breaths

  • perfect job :)

  • thats a big weak ass band

  • and who do u march for?

  • wow....MEACkang...i thought i was da only one who thought about the sound issue in the dome....nice arrangement by FAMU...absolutely POWERFUL....I agree with u MEACkang most of da otha bands play whole notes and crank and da song just be hype but has no quality...

  • ITs straight though just wish they would have beasted at the end of the song.they got enough ppl to blow dat sadium bout 400 Miles away.

  • FAMU band never beast and thats sad

  • that's a lie

  • no actually FAMU never beast for real.If all of them were blowin its possible they could be louder than SU.but other that they sound good as hell

  • i disagree. on many occasions i've heard the 100 beast/crank LIVE on hay, vice versa, espn, sos, just to name a few. dont let these internet clips fool u

  • so.... how many do they have in the band?

  • ignorent....just ignorent

  • and what high school do u go to talking all this junk cuz if ur high school lined up in front of the hundred and played we kno what would happen

  • this is the most unique version of 400 degz i've heard. it's not just a buncha dumb whole notes and unison parts like others. every instrument has a diff moving part. big up to the arranger for thinkin out the box. as far as volume, it would be STUPID for a 400+ band to open up INSIDE a dome! the echo would cause all kinds of tempo and intonation probs. i'm glad sum1 in the band was smart enuff to kno a lil sound physics (ie controlled vol) b/c some of yall clowns just dont have common sense.

  • firstly thats not even 300 people in that video and thank god somebody is smart cuz the sound would sound muffled if u just open up like that in a dome

  • i really like famu, but this video is a realy bad representation of them in my opinion. my high school plays 400 better than this and they sound so small for them to be so big

  • they sound very good its just bad sound on the tape. compare famu to a high school band? u crazy

  • dont ever compare the hundred to a high school

lil homie thats like compareing a flu to full blown aids we eat college bands alive and dont worry about some old bitch ass high schools

    Mr. Fantastic

  • I thought the College Band experience taught elements of personal growth and maturity that could be seen the world over. Not the same as the vernacular displayed here right?

  • y do dey sound little but dey so big

  • look here icn. im the baritone player from the battle with nansemond and i finished my first year at famu. Dont let the tapes fool u and this was in 05. they had size by more than half the band was woodwinds in 05. look at some of the clips from this year and years like 02 and 01

  • i like famu..but ima be real dis got to be the most boring version of 400 i have ever heard

  • this is nice.

  • Im always Impressed wit FAMU band my moms went there back in the 80's Ima 80's baby I was born in the dirty dirty thas why Im crazy a str8 up florida boi foreal.

  • dis song is ridin. my band teacher, cidel, wrote this song for FAMU

  • no he did because the current band president chandler wilson wrote this, i would know cuz im in the 100 and i got the sheet music in my room

  • oh my bad, he wrote outstanding

  • tubas got to hold their notes longer in the beignning

  • dem niggas look so cramped

  • yo some1 put dat real juvie up

  • lol, finnaly. Someone who plays it the right way!!!! That tuba part has to be right on or the song is ruined.

  • Morris Brown played it the right way, they had the best version of it.

  • Probably just the way that sounds more appealing to the fans, not necessarily the right way, doubt famu would ever play something wrong.

  • not all songs are meant to be played symphonic, also they played the wrong arrangement, I know you're a big famu fan be they're not perfect.

  • I'm a pretty neutral fan, and the song originally comes from an rap song, if it's converted to anything a band can play than technically it's not the right way, I'm sorry you would like to hear this song different but I can't change that, personally I don't prefer this version either but I doubt Famu would play the song itself converted into this wrong.

  • actually non of u morons dont know wat ur talking about.although the drums can drown out anything.but if the whole fucking band blow at the same time the band willl blow out the percussion

  • not only do they use dynamics they dont allow the drums to over shadow the band, even though drums control tempo they can also drown any instrument.

  • Such talent, and their field shows are great. Including their formations.

  • this is awesome
