They did surgery for "wind sucking" and David got banned from the show ring for doing it for a year because Magnum had no medical reason. The surgery was not to dish his face, it was to tighten up his throat latch for a cleaner line. Get your facts straight!

They have one fewer rib and one less tail bone vertebrae, as well as being more high spirited in comparison to other breeds. All horses can carry their tails high, however Arabians do so naturally from birth on. For the people that think of owners as making them into horse barbies.. its called grooming and show sheen and is easy if you groom every day!

@Flyingfudgemuffins it's not just desired traits. all purebreds have those traits. if they dont, somewhere in their lineage is another breed. you might be thinking of anglo arabs, which aren't purebred arabs. the breed also isn't technically "based" off anything. arabians are one of the original breeds responsible for the creation of others. i said nothing about his legs or build, just pointed out "flaws" that some people see cuz arabs look different from the normal horse.

For those of you who don't know, Gingering is a practice where they apply ginger inside their anus with a toothbrush to irritate them as much as possible. It burns like a mother fucker and the horse raises its tail to try to avoid the pain. Its a shame people like this as so successful.
@bazy11 He has a full, younger brother named Quetzalli and I prefer him to Magnum, actually. He's got a much sweeter temperament and I like his markings better, gives him a kinder looking face. He finally went to Scottsdale last year so I'm hoping they're finally doing something with the poor guy. When I worked at Midwest, Zalli only ever went out when I took him for grooming and exercising, though all the studs there are that way. Stalled ALL DAY LONG!
yea i've heard that except not for more dish, like ears and throatlatch...i've also heard they dont use the most humane techniques there as well but im not sure so yea....thats just the reputation ive heard of them

Magnum isn't Egyptian...He's mostly Russian, with some Swedish and German lines in there. Not really any Egyptian if you know Arab lines! And yes, I have a Magnum descendent whom I LOVE.
You are all incorrect! He is not Straight Egyptian, nor had he be proven to have been surgically altered. He is with out question one of the best Arabian horses in the world if not the best!

No he is not pure egyption. I believe his sire is Padron. Padron is not Egyptian. He may have some Egyptian blood but he is NOT Straight Egyptian.
