Great video. Love the idea of painting over the decal to help it blend in. I've got some of the Microset and Microsol and the stuff is simply awesome.
i need get paintin my dark eldar too....havent been able to find the right shade of blue yet though...nice little tip, I've used this before and it does make a difference
@Eesoteric43 That wouldnt be a bad idea at all, plus that would help garantee that the decal wouldnt move once you had it in your set spot. Thats really an excellent idea friend thanks for the tip :) Thanks for taking the time to watch and write as well
@FiveStarRating22 First a clear gloss coat (brand of your choosing) then decals after gloss coat has dried, decal set and solve, repeat as needed and once all is in place and dry, a matt finish to seal everything up. That's how I take on the decal applications. If decals are a bit translucent, put the same decal over the one you just applied, that makes the colors more bold and solid. Painting them is another option, it works.
@Jriv193 Thats the setter I was speaking of. Im sorry if I said something else. If youve watched my vids before you know that I dont always name things correctly or pronounce them right lol. They dont have them at my hobby shop near by. They do have it at the one hobby shop called the source but that one is 2 hours from me so I dont make it there often. Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch bro
Also I've seen that using gloss varnish underneath helps both set the decal better and hids that film your talking about. Then use matte varnish to remove the gloss shine
@wakcedout I have heard of doing this as well I havnt ever tested it personally but I am sure it would work fine. Thanks for taking the time to watch and write friend
try a matt coat on the decal before painting on it , it really helps the paint stick ! :D

Good video, what about spraying some matte finish on the decal to give the paint something to grip to?

Another product you can use is called Micro Set, and Micro Sol.
You should be able to find it at a hobby shop.
