  • Great version! Have to say i've never liked this song by Neil Diamond, but this version is great! Thanks for uploading.

  • This is a very good version but cannot touch the writers(neil Diamond) . Could never replace Neil Diamonds at a Boston Red Sox Game at Fenway the greatest major league in America even if it is the oldest. Has charm, character and built in pets(RATS). You won't find them any whers else except maybe Wrigley or Oakland.

  • how many songs written by white songwriters sound way way better when sung by people of colour. More melody, feeling, love of soul and just better I s'ppose!

    joey jones,

soul boy since i was a nipper, and a 40 year old kid :)

  • 99 341 views and only 99 likes? I am the nr. 100. This song deserves more likes

  • better than diamond , even though he is fantastic , sorry neil , not this time ,

  • i like the era of music where 20 artist groups would do remakes of hits :).

  • Oh, so good...love the sound and it is MUCH better..Neil Diamond did a great job but this is THE BEST. Awesome sound... Ty for uploading..I appreciate it and love these new "gems"....

  • AAAH BIN INCLINED>> that does it for me. perfection..

  • very nice --i love it--but Neil's is to me the definitive version......but I do LOVE this.

  • my name!!!!

  • I adore The Drifters this cover lifts my heart makes me wana dance slow with someone xx What a voice!!! X

  • Fantastic. At 0.58 Johnny lets us have the first of his great"Touching me...." vocals.

And is there anyone else who could change the balance of the song with such effect?

Great background singing as always and let's not forget the producer.

    Johnny Moore-the legend

  • @roofer63 ..i agree roofer..neil diamond wrote a lovely sound & recorded it well but johnny's silky smooth vocals certainly put this on a new level.."touching me" is a wow factor which hits home..johnny moore is 100% a legend in my opinion...thanks for sharing boogie2w

  • My beautiful girls name ....xxx

  • Sweet Caroline xxx

  • just let mad annie hear this for the first time and she loves it,,,,, a drifters fan

  • I like it--But I like Neil's better

  • fuck neil diamond

  • (GOOD TIMES NEVER SEEMED SO GOOD)

  • and when you discover they were the best times ! you can't go back with time ! i totally agree with you!

  • @exorcist1701 With me? That's not me! I just completed for you the title of the song: SWEET CAROLINE (GOOD TIMES NEVER SEEMED SO GOOD) That's the official complete title!

  • Great song, I cant download it anywhere though

  • @sarmuelwrx it's available on a drifters cd from the late 70's early 80's

  • Can't beat that voice, gives me goosebumps. Wow!

  • Aqui ya no era ese gran grupo que fue,la version de Neil Diamond es buenisima.

  • Great cover!! Johnny was in the Drifters since 1955! and sang with all the great past Drifters legends.R.I.P Johnny

  • johnny was the best... just listen to that voice. i went to see him just before he passed away RIP johnny

  • habe sie live gesehen auf mallorca. wunderbar

  • It s the "Touching me touching you " bit he does so well.Well done Johnny.

  • Not the best version, but it's very good!

  • Great version...you can shag (beach music dance) to this one!!

  • blows neil diamond's out of the water

  • @biggi0401

ELVIS SINGS THIS VERSION MUCH BETTER...MUCH BETTER

  • @biggi0401 I have to agree ... and as that's my beautiful girls name it's the best !!!

  • they come to nc all the time! well the now members, but still gotta love them!<3

  • this is the English Drifters, not the group in the USA.

  • How can you say that...Johnny Moore was American...not English. The Drifters have had many reincarnations since the 50's. however it was Johhny Moore on lead vocal who saw them through their most popular recording period in the early to mid 70's in the UK. RIP Johnny. x

  • Don't care who is in the band, they are from ENGLAND. The Drifters that many see in the states, one of a handful of Drifters band, has Bill Pinkney as the leader. Now that he has passed away, there will be 5 more groups probably.

Ask any USA Drifters to play "Little Red Book"...They don't know it! LEt me say that I have booked these bands for over 30 years so.........I know who is in what band and where they are from!

  • @craigs1001 - this was the drifters at their very best - johnny moore gave the drifters originality and a voice that'll be remembered for ever - he WAS american - we have the english drifters touring the uk and believe me if your thinking of going to see them , don't expect to see or hear this level of singing - you'll be disapointed

  • @iveco321 I'm sure of that ! All we have are the memories and recordings!

  • great version

  • the most melodious voice i ever heard.johnny moore, simply the best! rip.

  • Personally, prefer it to the original sung by Neil Diamond.

  • me too :)

  • the best

  • Hi, this is one of the best covers they ever did along with 'Something Tells Me' and 'You've Got Your Troubles'. If you have the other 2 tracks is it possible to post them on youtube?

    Cheers for posting this classic.

    David

  • FANTASTIC

  • i really like this song

  • I am sooooo glad you have put this track up. Not only is it one of the least know tracks sung by the Drifters, it is possibly one of their best. I love it. Thanks Boogie2w
