  • I love this version, but it doesn't come close to the epicness of the Dissidia 012 version

  • @MLDKF iyo ... Heard this, the original, first now and i like it 100 % more than Dissidia version =p

  • @UltimeciaKnight That's alright. I don't agree with your decision, but I respect it and I defend your right to have it.

  • @MLDKF xD Thanks for defending righteousness =p

  • For those who entered the pandemonium with low level characters (including myself): this place, with the random encounters, was truly a living hell.

  • @iKashaku I forget exactly how it went for me, but I had a spell that let me absorb MP from monsters... only reason I survived..

  • What's this? No one's complaining over who's the better FF villain?

    >.>

    <.<

Guess it's up to me then. Mateus! vs Kefka! Who's the better spell caster? Who was the greater Emperor?

(Please note, ThePistlwhipr loves having hot-blooded discussions. Replyer, prepare for some exciting discussion.)

  • @ThePistlwhipr No Final Fantasy villain is better, no FF villain is worse, they all original. Each and everyone of them shows a singular form of madness and intoxication (Dissidia Final Fantasy shows, that they are even more complex, than one could think), should their evil be a birthright (e.g. Cloud of Darkness, Exdeath, Kuja) or growing hatred towards everything (e.g. Kefka, Sephiroth, Ultimecia). It's like comparing FF games - each has something, that any other doesn't have.

  • @ShiroiLuke Awwww... but if one were to leave it at that, where's the fun in comparing? I dunno if this is just me, but I always like comparing characters from different video games just for the fun of it, just as a personal gain, mostly. But you do make a very good point. Argument valid.

  • @ThePistlwhipr But still, there is no point in denying, that we simply like to compare. Some concepts have great impact on us, while some we see a rubbish. I too, thought about it many times, like what video game I consider best, what VG main chracter was most prominent for me. So it's not just You, rather this might be case for all of us. That being said, I still cling to what I've said ealier, it's better that having comments disabled, because of... well, too lively discussionXD

  • @ShiroiLuke I couldn't agree with you more. I can't even remember the last time I went to a Final Fantasy video on Youtube without there a fanboy war over who would kill who between Sephiroth and Kefka, or anything else for that matter. In my case, I have discussions with others just for fun, rather than out of rage or spite. That's why I was so eager to have a discussion about it with someone in the previous comment below.

  • Where's the 10 hour version?

  • Never played this game before but hearing this makes me want to try it out. Epic!

  • This is the only last dongeon i wanted to stay there forever due to the most epic song of FF ever! And i think it's one of the thing that made me fall in true love with this FF game!

  • Best song in the game, and one of the best in the series.

  • I was once an emperor like you, then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • @Razgriz4 More like I took a blood sword to the knee.

  • Funny how The Emperor split into two and took two major thrones at the same time. Heaven and Hell. Pharphain's comment explains everything xD

  • I play this when I have over 50 tabs open.

  • I favorited this 2 years ago

  • Officially the best last dungeon music in FF :D

  • I am playing all 14 Final Fantasy games in order. I've only beaten the first one, and I'm in the middle of II. I must say, the Chaos Shrine sounds like shit compared to this.

  • Underrated game. Not the best, but underrated

  • FF II isn't the best game of the series gameplay wise... But my god, it has a rather epic soundtrack!

  • Holy ... sith. I just defeated a group of 5 enemies with Emperor only while listening to this (Duodecim). It wasn't the first time I made it, but it was the first time it felt so damn good.

  • 本当に大好き、この歌

  • so friggen hard

  • My reign is absolute!

  • I had to say

Final Fantasys was one of the best games of music

    back in 1990s :}

  • Dr.Clarke: I'm already a dead man!!! ←←←ah wait, Dr.Clarke?!

  • No final dungeon theme beats FF1 and FF2.

  • @zingodoom FFXII takes the cake on the semi-final dungeon themes, though. The Pharos, fuck yeah!

  • All hail emperor Mateus!

  • hold on lemme wipe the cum off my screen...

  • # of people who disliked this video were lowly worms that were easily crushed by the Emperor.

  • Mateus: Hello Satan, I am here for one reason and one reason only.... YOUR THRONE!

    *Meanwhile*

Mateus: Hello God, I am here for one reason and one reason only.... YOUR THRONE!

  • @Pharphain When playing 1 I was thinking what's more epic than defeating an evil final boss that you created through a time paradox... Then 2 comes along and answers it so damn perfectly.

  • @Pharphain try to take the throne of God you will fail miserably

  • @TheSouldier01 Mateus already succeeded.

  • @Pharphain thats the reason why i loved Mateus, he is THE MOST POWERFULL villain in Final Fantasy History :D

  • What would you do if you went to Heaven and some guy offered you eternal life in exchange for forgiving him of his sins?

Let's assume you didn't know he was lying. >>

  • @OgnarPliskin I'd still kill him.

  • @asteroidrules That's good, but you realize he beat Satan right? That's not going to be easy.

  • @OgnarPliskin Don't forget to be God of Heaven he had to defeat God....

  • @CrazyGeistProduction Are you sure he didn't sneak in and work in a chocolate chip factory?

  • @OgnarPliskin Say: "I'm already dead"

  • HOLY SH***** !!!

    thats the FF2's best song!

  • Firion: 2 hits, critical! 4 damage. (I damaged a Death Rider! Yes! I just might win!)

Death Rider: 8 hits, critical! 999 damage.

    The party has fallen...

  • @onionknight777 This is definitely the part of the game where they take the gloves off.

With each floor I kept seeing my supply of ether potions tick steadily downwards.

I was getting low by the time I finally reached 10F. I cringed whenever I had to go up against those riders. They and the fallen angel sub-bosses were more dangerous than the emperor.

  • My REIGN is ABSOLUTE!

  • I CAME

  • Everytime I hear this a little bit of wee comes out.

  • at 0:00 i was eating bread, at 0:01 i was eating toast...

  • Ha it plays when I walk outside and when I unzip my pants so haaaaa

  • This music plays when I unzip my pants.

  • Meanwhile in Castle Pandemonium...

Maria: Face it Firion, WE'RE LOST.

    Firion: FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Leon: At least we can still listen to the EPIC music playing here in this Godforsaken castle...

    Guy: ..........

  • @WeLiveToComment No to mention, who ever would have thought the palace of hell would be so pretty inside. Or that you have to fight your way up instead of down.

Firion: Oooo, pink crystal interior...maybe a princess lives here. Wait! Is that...? *Random encounter with death riders*

  • @WeLiveToComment your comment reminded of 8-Bit Theater and thats positive :D

  • @WeLiveToComment Guy speak Beaver!

  • This is what you hear when you enter God's throne room.

  • I love this theme. Even after I get raped by four Death Riders...

  • @Subzwari1987 One for each party member. Truly a match made in hell.

  • Just....Majestic!!!!

  • Wow, I've played and beat most FF games but no final stage music ever came close to this.. Epic.

  • This is far and away one of the best themes and games that Square Enix made. My only complaint is that this theme could've been a little darker...I mean, it's the Castle of Hell. But it's so epic I can't bring myself to actually care much

  • @ashjk92 it may be the Castle of Hell, but the final battle's central theme is really revenge and justice against the Emperor, for the sake of Minwu, Josef, Ricard, Scott, and everyone else.

  • @StayFreebr007 Okay, but that's the final battle...this is the castle's theme I'm talking about lol

  • This music made Pandemonium the most epic last dungeon in any games ever

  • sounds like the chaos temple theme FF1 but more awesome *°*

  • @TheNekochu I think that was done to make a parallel between the first and second games. Like Square saying "Hey look, similar final dungeon themes! Have some free nostalgia!"

  • Emperor: Run amock....

    Firion: Don't let it...end...

    ten-ten-ten-ten-tenenen-nenen!

    Emperor: Hmph. Not nearly enough.

  • EPIIIIIIC !!!!!!!!

  • Is there any piece of adventure/dungeon music that is more epic than this? I think not...and if you say there is then BLASPHEMY!

  • @NodakJo2010 Look up Doom Castle from Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. It's the only dungeon music that compares, in my opinion.

  • @NodakJo2010 There is. Dragon God from Chrono Cross. And I know you'll bash me as well as those 41 people because you're just fanboys. *Shrug*

  • @RJMazz47 If they removed the vocal part....it could beat this. For some reason it just never fit the song...but yes you are right that is a very good song.

  • I wouldn't just say Emperor is power hungry and leave that as his main motivation. In a way, the story shows how Emperor IS the devil. In lore, the devil is the most ultimate trickster, and the fact Emperor is able to trick him proves that he is and always has been the devil, not just an immediate successor. Emperor, even before his physical transformation and attainment of the devil's powers, is the sole ruler of Hell, solidifying his "My Reign is Absolute" line, but mainly over the last devil.

  • @dshrecksBW I like your study in Final Fantasy theology. It's like something St. Thomas Aquinas or C.S. Lewis would have written had lived in that world.

Still...was Mateus was also always God? If so, can we say it was all part of God's plan and that he works even through Satan?

And once both God and Satan Mateus are dead, who takes their place? Anyone?

Can we assume that God and Satan are 'unkillable' because 'successors' are already lined up to replace Mateus?

    Great Scott!

  • ...this is the most epic song i've ever heard, no doubt.

  • Emperor: "my Reign is Absolute!!"

    Firion: "Rule THIS!"

*Shoots all his weapons towards Empereor*

  • I just played Dissidia Duodecim today, I played with Firion Level 100 VS Emperor Level 100, maximum CPU Difficultya the Stage Pandemonium Top Floor with this music.

Hell, that was a heavy intense genious flashback I had all of a sudden there.

  • Fantastic.

    Just fantastic

  • When I think of the throne of God, this comes to mind :)

  • I know I'm a hater ... god will forgive me ...

    FUCK FINAL FANTASY 13!!

  • @sparileidlon it's okay

  • This game is insanely underrated - get used to the fighting system and learn to control it without using any glitches and thou shalt have an experience.

  • @Laurelindo Agreed

  • @Laurelindo People always complain about the leveling system, but I got my party high enough in level to beat the game in the ordinary course of events.

I didn't have to go on grinding expeditions or attack my own party members like the critics always mention.

There were fights I would grind for awhile to level up new spells but basic stuff like hitpoints and weapon proficiency pretty much took care of itself.

If you look at newer games such as elder scrolls, it was ahead of its time.

  • @leopoldvonhabsburg Yes, I believe this game is actually trying to allow you to become stronger *without* grinding, and it did a pretty good job at that.

Personally I get a wonderful sense of completion if I simply Exit and re-enter a dungeon until I'm strong enough to beat it.

I usually do that in the Mithril Mine - I get as many treasures as possible and use up all MP, then I rest and ren-enter and suddenly find myself much stronger in every way.

    That feels good.

  • my reign is absolute!!!!

  • This just screams, "My reign is absolute!"

  • Man, Final Fantasy II had the best music of the first 6 games (and of a lot afterward). I still get the songs stuck in my head.

  • i thought this sounded good in Dissidia 012.......then i heard this version.

  • THIS.....is screaming out loud:

    Now or never

    Fight or be gone

    Live or Die

    Anihilation or Future

    Emprisonement or Freedom

THAT'S the kind of music I want to hear and what it should tell me when entering the final dungeon :)

  • I want a orchestra-Version!!! >.< With a big chor!!! I count for the next DISTANT WORLDS!!!

  • @NeroFlyFly Idk maybe its just me, but I feel like dissidia's remix to this song doesn't capture what I felt when I first heard this song and its intensity. I may be biased as well because I'm not a big fan of the dissidia ost.

  • @MJuematsu I am, also a big Dissidia Fan and you're right, the PS 1 Version is much better ^^

  • Comment removed

  • Iz dat sum "Solveig's Song" from Grieg's world-renowned "Peer Gynt" I hearz?

Seriously, the melody of this song has been shamelessly lifted.

  • @VysetheTard Listened to Solveig's Song and there's definitely parallels in the melody. Cool observation.

I'm playing Solveig's song and this FF2 dungeon music simultaneously. Amusingly, the effect is not at all jarring. You have a good ear for music.

But it would be a stretch to say the Uematsu tune was 'lifted.'

The tempo, mood is totally different. And the major and minor sounds like it's been switched.

Thus sombre song becomes majestic march. 'Inspired by' might be more accurate.

  • @leopoldvonhabsburg

"But it would be a stretch to say the Uematsu tune was 'lifted.' "

-Yeah, probably so. I believe I made that comment when I was in the middle of a smarmy accusatory streak, when I was seeing musical similarities all over the place. It's hard to stop those once you're on them.

  • Epic song in an epic game.

  • This song is to the Emperor what Those Chosen By The Planet is to Sephiroth.

  • This music is the very pinnacle of awesomeness. It is fucking DIVINE.

  • Comment removed

  • amo la musica del fina es supero bonita tenfo unas ganas de ber el finall

  • You have braved the depths of Hell to reach me. But the hand of man, which deals in false justice and forsaken love, can never hope to defeat the lord master of Hell!

  • The place where you kill the emperor =D

  • @Darkslayer1250 Foolish men. If you will not have eternal life,I shall give you eternal suffering!

  • MUST. CREATE. LOOPED. VERSION.

  • The main thing between the two versions seems to be what it's "fit" for. At least to me. This is for an epic fucking dungeon. The other is more fight oriented. So...meh. Take your pick XD

  • The remix for Dissidia 012 sounds like crap compared to this.

  • @MJuematsu i was going to say the same thing bro

  • @MJuematsu it doesnt.. your ears are probably bleeding

  • @MJuematsu you have shit taste sir

  • @MJuematsu Thi one sounds more epic xD

  • @MJuematsu I couldn't agree more

  • @MJuematsu because the one for dissidia 012 was designed with a different purpose in mind, to be a constant battle theme. This does not fit the category of a battle theme that could occur over and over for many battles. No, this arrangement will only fit something akin to a final dungeon or FINAL battle due to it's overly humble and organ piano tone compared to the one in 012.

  • @MJuematsu Well I like all of the Castle Pandemonium songs. Both the remixes, and the original. |D

None of them sound like crap. They are all as epic as the other.

  • It is new, therefore it is shit.

  • @MJuematsu Very True

  • @MJuematsu the dissidia version is alright but idd this one is better

  • @MJuematsu

Well, MOST of the remixed songs sound bad. But this particular one, I'd rather listen to a MIDI than Dissidia's version.

  • This song will play when i'm going to do my 5th grade exam.

  • This is what made FF2 so great. It's soundtrack was amazing, especially for the time it was made.

  • the new remix version of this sounds soooo much more epic than this.

  • @rampade

Maybe but for me it lost the "last struggle" feeling it originaly had, I wouldn't mind if Square put them both in Dissidia 012 actually :p

  • EPIC MUSIC!

  • THIS WILL BE IN DISSIDIA DUODECIM

  • @GravityPowerful yeah a new mix of it it doesnt have the royalty feel this one does though.

  • So, ff10 was trash The only thing i liked about it was the song "Otherworld" but it's still trash compared to songs like "one-winged angel" and the the ff6 boss theme "The decisive battle" and "Dancing Mad"

  • o pllz ff1o was type trash

  • @kidhavii1995 So you hate FFX and you're illiterate

How funny those two qualities are seen together

  • This music is the only thing I liked about this game.

  • Why is this song so damn amazing!?

  • ff1,2,3,4,5,6,7,&9 have masterpieces in them even if the games might not be as good as the music in it. and thats not saying any thing because the games listed are my fave

  • Comment removed

  • @kidhavii1995 way to skip ffviii and ffx, faggot

  • a song fit for royalty

  • An epic song when descending into the Bowels of Hell itself.

  • Thumbs up if you came when you read this will be on Dissidia 012.

  • @Sheikah92 And it's not as good.

  • THis Version Of THe Game Is Better Than THe Playstation Version and THe NES Version. This Is Because You Can Use THe Items In Your Bag INstead Of Just Equipping 2 Itmes That You Have To USe INsted Of The ONes In THe Bag.

  • @fantasto5 You on cRacK, boy.

  • @fantasto5 Margot Roth Speigelmen?

  • @fantasto5 something wrong with ur key board?

  • "Hey guys, forgive me and everything will be okay! I'll let you live forever."

"It's a lie! Look, he's still fighting down in Hell!"

*sees Emperor fighting Firion and co*

    "Um...crap."

  • how about ff1 underwater temple and this song are almost exactly the same!

  • Comment removed

  • @TOTtomdora

you should take advice from your statement towards me, this and underwater temple are the same song, if you cant hear it your def!

  • @DarkFocust Does "Comment removed" mean anything to you? I removed it less than a minute after I posted it.

  • I dis i like :)

  • Those who disliked this are 100% officially retarded.

  • Somebody should make a 14-minute-loop about this..FFII for life <3

  • This one is awesome! I could listen to this for like an hour!

in fact I did once, while I was drawing or something :)

  • "You have braved the bowels of Hell to reach me. But the hand of man, which deals in false justice and forsaken love, can never hope to defeat the lord master of Hell!"

-Emporor Mateus! haha i love this boss even though its practically the easiest final final fantasy boss ever...

  • Uematsu is one of my favorite composers... I'm so glad he's the composer for the upcoming Final Fantasy 14

  • And I came here looking for the organ orgasm that is pandemonium castle FFIX. But this is awesome too.

  • @Ingestedbanjo Did you know that theme is a slower version of this theme? Hard to pick up but it is there.

  • @rissole25 Oh my gosh I think you're right! How cool!

  • This game is a masterpiece. And this song is epic.

  • I think that the plot of FF2 is possibly one of the best in the series. The issue that I have with the game is that I'm just terrible with the gameplay, which prevents me from actually getting through the game.

  • I really enjoy finlfantasy two until i got to the mysidia tower. When i got there ANYTHING did massive damage. I would unbelievably powerful and I struggled so much. This place though was impossible without max everything. You either have max all stats (which I had like 7000 health and max other stuff.) Or you ran from all encounters. I ran through that last 2 hour dungeon and reached the hardest, but easiest boss ever. Aka use the damn blood swords to win. 5/5

  • @Omnigamers I fought all encounters and I beat the game with all my characters at like 2000 health each. IMHO Mysdia tower was one of the easiest places. I had more trouble in the Dreadnought lol.

  • @pharphaine See I was told that the dreadnought would be punishingly difficult, but with fririon I boosted attack all the to max before i went there. I guess it was because i never boosted up defense very much

  • I KNEW IT!!!! This song´s arrange is pretty much the same as the Chaos Shrine theme in Final Fantasy 1! Check out for yourselves and listen closelly if you don´t believe me.

  • @Lookin4aBoxToLive I listened. I don't believe you.

  • @Infidel775 you have to listen really closely. of course they´re different inmany aspects but the arrange is very similar...

  • The 2 people who disliked this video couldn't hope to defeat the lord master of hell

  • FF9's Castle Pandemonium is a majorly slowed down version of this song.

Thumbs up if you agree and check it out yourself!

  • @Frostycakez "Agree"? What's there to deny? It's official, it was never meant to be hidden or anything.
