well from what i"ve heard you played it correctly so that guy is obviously wrong. Tabs are tedious but its the best way for me to learn and this is one of my favorite songs and i dont kow it 100% which sucks
can someone just post tabs of it, it would be a lot easier to learn. Who ever knows how to correctly play it please post tabs of it, its a lot easier and i dont have to try to guess while your showing off. But nice job on the playing
Well, that's the thing, no one know how to play it correctly. I mean I thought I did, but some dude who replied to me said I did a terrible job. Maybe we should ask him how to do it. writing tabs is such a tedious job anyway, it doesn't describe nearly as well as a video (slowed-down).
Nice job, good cover well done. Love this song, just posted this solo myself. Check it out at GRHARRIS1, let me know your comments. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for trying this one, one of my favourite Rainbow songs and solos. The Strat you're using is very similar to the main one Ritchie used during his MK II days to record In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head, Made in Japan and probably WDWTWA. Did you get it because of that?
Also, IMHO, Ritchie's sound is based more on sustain than on distortion, which makes for his unique sound. But again, thanks for adding to YouTube a song that nobody else tried before!
Well, thank you for the good comments. As for the Strat, yes, I am guilty of what you say... I could not afford a real 1968 Strat Like Ritchie's (at least the one pictured in the Machine Head LP) but it playes very well. And I'm not afraid to say that the Mexican handywork is quite good. Unfortunately, not all MIM products are the same, but generally, they are pretty good.
BUT I am not the first one to try this song, although, I do believe I did a good job on it.
Well thanks, apparently someone else thinks not... But I could have done better. then again, asking me to play, say like Stave Vai, well, I just can't. Within the limits of my fingers and neurons.
No, but I can try, it just seems so tedious. A while back , a girl in College where I graduated did a guitar project that actually sensed every fret and every note you played and displayed the tablature in real time on an LCD. Awesome project. I don't know what happened with that, but I could definitely see it being very useful!
Wow that's sooo cool, I would buy that! that would make learning soo much easier. I'm tryint to learn it by ear, but it's hard to get every note right just by listening even once you figure out the scales and such.
That's true and if you know the scales, that's an advantage. Eventually, you learn that there are patterns of phrases that are often used, along with pull-offs and such. It takes time to get it right, but with the right combination of ear, studying (other tabs) and patience, anything can be learned. Keep on!
Thanks. Well, could be there's no hammer-ons or pull-offs, I mean I just played the intro by ear with some help from some tabs. I just did what came naturally to me.
Well thanks James! While doing this exercise, I noticed it'a alot harder to do a song from start to finish and still hammer out the solo as good as if you were only doing it "solo".

Nice job. Don't use backing tracks or mixers so I know where you're comming from. Cool guitar.

nice intro-just like the way I play it-although my brother claims there are no hammer ons or pull-offs in the opening riff-go figure?

Très très bien man, j'ai bien aimé ça, tu joues très bien. C'est tu un vrai Fender ça?
crazymofquebec 4 years ago
Ben oui, c'est une Fender mexicaine (MIM) de 2005. J'ai pas remarqué de différence entre les US model pis celle-là. Pourquoi payer plus cher?
