Why don't you convert the working Tricorder to use a rechargeable battery instead of having that Alkaline pack sitting outside of it? This way, you could conceal the battery inside the unit.

Yes, I just ordered two 4LR61 from the net, I can't wait to roleplay on my own out in public [Yes, I live in imagination land in real life too :-)]
I will leave the rechargeable concept to you when I have one made by your very hands, I can't wait :-)
