I just purchased the roller version and it comes with a 88t spur. I am a basher mainly and I'm putting the Dynamite fuze 6800 kv esc/motor combo in it what pinion would you recommend for this setup? Like I said I'm a basher and not into hearing about the truck only being a racer. Thank you for your time any info will be appreciated! :)

@Nuclearrc I'd start around an 18-tooth pinion and go up or down from there. Keep an eye on the motor temperatures to make sure things aren't getting too hot.

This is my first truck and it has been running great. I even race at S&N Trackside. :) The only thing i had to replace or switch out right away were the steering ball cups. They kept popping out if I hit a wall or landed a jump too hard. Later on a nice guy gave me have some RPM steering ball cups to replace them.

just picked this truck up and after losis severe mess up in releasing the strike its good to see theyre back on top with the xxx sct its so bloody nimble right out of the box it easily puts the blitz and slash to shame and rivals or supasses the associated

why so many haters? this platform is gold. i have the desert truck and mf2 xxxt no issues in 4 years of bashing/racing. traxxas freaks get way to bent out of shape about losi. oh and the stock dsm range issue. what issue? your not going to be racing on a track thats 300 meters away. who wants to use binoculars to race on a track anyways. for the whiners complaining about not being 4x4. 2wd takes skills to drive, 4wd is childs play point and go to easy.

Both my Mini slider and Mini SCT steering servos both have failed after less than 1 month of use. They both wont centre and shake left to right.

It is a common issue. I have tried a Spektrum DX3S radio and the range is better but still has drop outs.

Not sure why Losi is not taking or borrowing ideas from the upcoming Losi 22 for when they (re) designed this truck. I would expect metric screws and updated steering design, and nice shocks available as a hop-up. I welcome the new losi 22 ideas. I'd expect to see those reflected in this truck. But otherwise, saw one at my track and it handled surprisingly good. The price is incredible too, as a BND. I have the Mini SCT 1/16 Readylift as a "toy" but would like to see good offroad tires for it.

@madeinquebec This project was in the works long before the 22. Also keep in mind this truck comes from the Losi side of things where the 22 is a Team Losi Racing project. Honestly the XXX-T design is still going strong and is a very strong performing platform. Keep in mind too that Team Losi Racing also won the 2010 ROAR 2WD Championship with the XXX-CR, not the 22.

I have to say its good to see that Losi is trying to make ammends from the first trucks mistakes. But in all honesty if your team driver had to switch so much on his truck to TQ the race, it just doesnt make sense to me as most of the other drivers ran stock or with way less mods to their trucks. Sounds to me and looks like this truck could have some issues already and just from a messed up jump you had a issue and pointed to a good flaw. Why is Losi following a bad plan for a race truck?

@mikemontgomery1970 Switch so much?? The truck was stock except for tires (That would be track-specific for any vehicle) and a ball diff. Normally with any vehicle you play around with camber link positions, springs, shock oil, etc. He even ran the RTR body!

@HorizonRCdotCom I understand your statement here to mine, and thats fine. To me changing out tires is a regular deal for a tracks type, and conditions period. So are changing the trucks setup through moving its camber and shock positions around o help it grip or jump better on the track your at. I do consider that him changing the diff out is a major change from stock and does affect a major portion of its running compared to the others that didnt do changes such as a diff swap. my opinion.

@timbulb ive used one for a weekend of racing. the ball ends would keep popping off the bell crank. the shock collars kept sliding up the shock body. the tie rods for this sc truck are from the losi strike, broke from use. i wouldnt troll on someones youtube page if i didnt know what i was talking about.

@doggydoo72 Dustin Evans TQ'ed the Spektrum Electric Off Road Championships with a XXX-SCT that was essentially box-stock. The only changes he made was to install a set of Super-Soft AKA Wishbone Tires and a ball diff. He used the stock shocks, springs, oil, pistons, etc. This was against some super-fast competition including Ryan Cavalieri.
