I rolled my own similar solution today. I've just begun playing with Opensolaris lately and I've set up one account that launches a Virtualbox Windows VM when the user logs in and logs out when the VM exits. It works from my custom made FreeBSD X terminal too, giving a similar effect to the demo. Would love to have a Sun Ray to play with though :D
The actual demo in the screen was run off my lab system(s) connected to an office Sun Ray 270. However, I do the same demo from my laptop (running Solaris 10 - started at 11/06, now on 10/08) with VirtualBox 2.1 ( I have done the same with VMware Fusion on my Mac). Again, with a Sun Ray as the display device.
