  • That is one "enchanting" video. =p

  • Your vid is popular on Massachusetts

  • Superb landing!

  • oh and to the previous comment, there was no way they could have fitted ejector seats in the back, the structure simply didnt permit. Even if they jumped out from the escape hatch which is right underneath them by the way lol, they still would have found it hard. very hard if it was an emergency, its so small and cramped in there. the engineer said it was very difficult and badly designed for those fellows.

  • Had the privelage of being in the cockpit of one of these today. The engineer who looked after the plane gave us a tour and all i can say is WOW. The size of it seems is incredible. Still find it amazing that the crew had 2 jump out of the undercarage in a emergency...and my god its cramped inside. great plane, but must have been hard for the navigators etc in the back.

  • the avro vulcan is better in person!

  • I use to go every year to the Valley (Anglesea) airshow just to see and hear the Vulcan, it was the highlight for me. Thanks for the clip.

  • No - I love the look of this plane but then I looked up more information on wikipedia. I was mortified by the sheer number of fatal accidents. It certainly isn't a short list. So no...I don't like the vulcan anymore.

I also hate the fact the ministry was so tight not to fit ejector seats for the flight crew in the back and only for the pilots at the front. Cheap bastards robbed a lot of people of their family members.

  • Well next time you ever go to an airshow and the Vulcan is flying there be sure to run away screaming histerically . Or you could shut your eyes and put your fingers in your ears and pretend it isnt there,it may just crash on you! GET REAL.

  • This was an unreliable and frequently fatal aircraft.

  • I take it you dont like the Vulcan? Your not Argentinian are you?

  • If you ever want to see this beautiful bat fly again you need to google and donate.

This Vulcan will not be seen in the air again unless people like you give £1, £5, whatever you can.

I have no connection to the program except that I love this piece of our aviation history.

Spitfire, Lancaster, Vulcan, Harrier. We need to keep our history alive.

  • What a beautiful Giant Delta Wing it is... awesome, a dream coming true!!!

  • norwich city avation museum has a complete vulcan and they do tours up in the cockpit i highly recomend it for all those vulcan lovers out there not sure but i think it was XM612

  • When I was a child one of these came over our house so low that the trees moved they used our house as a bombing run as we are high up they are glorious.

  • fantastic... cheers... ;-) now she's back in the air long may she stay there.

  • I would give my last few years on this rock, if I could see this great lady, flying alongside her older sibling, the mighty Lanc.

    dnazup

  • It's a dream come true to see XH558 back in the air.

  • I soooo wanna see this plane in person. sounds great

  • it sounds like nothing i've heard before man!! Increddible

  • Unbelieveable!!! I'm planning to go to an airshow in the UK soon!!! i absolutely love your planes!!!

  • I hope they bring concorde back one day.

  • The RAF ought to have them back in service purely on psychological grounds; any enemy would crap themselves.

  • obviously you havn't a clue what you're talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The sound of freedom - awesome

  • at last the lady flys after yrs of resterationm

  • Wonderful to see the old girl in the air again :)

I lost count of the number of windows I had to have replaced in our Married Quarter because of the vibrations these planes caused when they went up! I'm keeping my fingers crossed she's at Waddo next year.

  • So are we going to hang onto this one just in case the Argie's get any funny ideas again?

  • lol russians start up shit agen we start up the planes

  • Nice one

  • i dont get it

  • So when are they going to restore the nukes and fly to Iraq ? :D

  • via holland.

  • there not going to nuke iraq coz if they did russia will retaliate with a nuke then america will, it will just result in a nuclear war and that will be a very bad thing coz we will all die

  • Fanbloodytastic to see her back in the air. A beautiful plane and worth the wait ......

  • @ tamather2647

Actually, it can go up to 627 mph, wich is approx 830 km/h. It was GB's backbone, carrying nukes in case of a thermonuclear war.

It was the worlds first deltawing and became worldfamous after appearing in James Bond "Thunderball" in 1965

  • yeh thats better explanion than mine lol

  • 627 mph is 1000 km/h.

  • If you see Vulcans dropping bombs on you, I would be very surprised.

This video is a celebration of the achievement of a group of dedicated individuals. Not everything is about war. Why cloud this with your comments?

  • Me too. however I never forget that its thanks to "planes like that" that I have the freedom to express my opinion, on such things.

Awesome achievement. I cannot wait to see this fly.

  • I remember seeing one at Yeovilton do a slow pass with landing gear down and bomb bay doors open. Stone me it was loud. Forget about it damaging your ears - what's it doing to your guts!

  • what sort of plane is it, what sort of combat does it do, it looks very slow. anyone with any info

  • its a strategic bomber (i think) from the cold war. carry nucler weapons

  • ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
