oh and to the previous comment, there was no way they could have fitted ejector seats in the back, the structure simply didnt permit. Even if they jumped out from the escape hatch which is right underneath them by the way lol, they still would have found it hard. very hard if it was an emergency, its so small and cramped in there. the engineer said it was very difficult and badly designed for those fellows.
Had the privelage of being in the cockpit of one of these today. The engineer who looked after the plane gave us a tour and all i can say is WOW. The size of it seems is incredible. Still find it amazing that the crew had 2 jump out of the undercarage in a emergency...and my god its cramped inside. great plane, but must have been hard for the navigators etc in the back.
No - I love the look of this plane but then I looked up more information on wikipedia. I was mortified by the sheer number of fatal accidents. It certainly isn't a short list. So no...I don't like the vulcan anymore.
I also hate the fact the ministry was so tight not to fit ejector seats for the flight crew in the back and only for the pilots at the front. Cheap bastards robbed a lot of people of their family members.
Well next time you ever go to an airshow and the Vulcan is flying there be sure to run away screaming histerically . Or you could shut your eyes and put your fingers in your ears and pretend it isnt there,it may just crash on you! GET REAL.

norwich city avation museum has a complete vulcan and they do tours up in the cockpit i highly recomend it for all those vulcan lovers out there not sure but i think it was XM612
When I was a child one of these came over our house so low that the trees moved they used our house as a bombing run as we are high up they are glorious.
Nice vid of a true classic,it could run rings around any bomber, american or russian in it's day and still is one of the best nuclear bombers ever made .
I lost count of the number of windows I had to have replaced in our Married Quarter because of the vibrations these planes caused when they went up! I'm keeping my fingers crossed she's at Waddo next year.
there not going to nuke iraq coz if they did russia will retaliate with a nuke then america will, it will just result in a nuclear war and that will be a very bad thing coz we will all die
I remember seeing one at Yeovilton do a slow pass with landing gear down and bomb bay doors open. Stone me it was loud. Forget about it damaging your ears - what's it doing to your guts!
brought a tear to my eye last time seen her fly 1992 i think .I have to be at the first public airshow ,anyone know when that will be .Congrats to all the team you guys are Heroes!!
Awesome flying machine !.By the way did you know that the first flight of the prototype Vulcan was in August 1952 ?.....55 years ago on the 8th month = XH 558 !:-).Long may she soar.

This was an unreliable and frequently fatal aircraft.

I take it you dont like the Vulcan? Your not Argentinian are you?

If you ever want to see this beautiful bat fly again you need to google and donate.
This Vulcan will not be seen in the air again unless people like you give £1, £5, whatever you can.
I have no connection to the program except that I love this piece of our aviation history.
Spitfire, Lancaster, Vulcan, Harrier. We need to keep our history alive.

The RAF ought to have them back in service purely on psychological grounds; any enemy would crap themselves.

@ tamather2647
Actually, it can go up to 627 mph, wich is approx 830 km/h. It was GB's backbone, carrying nukes in case of a thermonuclear war.
It was the worlds first deltawing and became worldfamous after appearing in James Bond "Thunderball" in 1965
Chrischan74 4 years ago
yeh thats better explanion than mine lol

627 mph is 1000 km/h.

If you see Vulcans dropping bombs on you, I would be very surprised.
This video is a celebration of the achievement of a group of dedicated individuals. Not everything is about war. Why cloud this with your comments?

Me too. however I never forget that its thanks to "planes like that" that I have the freedom to express my opinion, on such things.
Awesome achievement. I cannot wait to see this fly.

that was fantastic, it brought a lump to my throat and shivers down my spine. The sound in the flesh must have been fantastic.
Now perhaps someone will listen and sort concorde out so two of the deltas can fly together.
Mind you, lets get a victor going first so we can really celebrate the V birds and british engineering
