  • got a lump in my throat and a need to be me

  • how can he make the two simplest chords of the verse sound so fucking good

  • Beautifully executed and still the best "Love and more" Respect NY

  • who are these "9 dislikes" - they are ignorant; must be bieber fans!

  • Wow he is starting to look old :( He's not supposed to get old!

  • @Redm00nShine "Old man look at me now, I'm a lot like you"

  • 331,765

  • 329,937

  • This old song by Neil is very present in this crazy world!!....

  • 323,148 not bad amount of views. Except it should have 5 times that amount. I guess that is asking too much. Great song and album from Mr. Young.

  • A true modern day classic from probably the most influential singer/songwriter on the planet!

  • Wishing all the service peoples a safe Christmas.

  • As usual I scroll down to read the comments and its just a big political clusterfuck. How about everyone just relax and enjoy a modern classic?

  • Thats what gave the hippies a bad name. After height Asbury in San Fran, most of the people (non hippies) were just about drugs, and the media did a good job of smearing the original cause. Look up Abbie Hoffman, Timothy Leary, John Sinclair on Wikipedia. Also look up the diggers who were at Height Ashbury. History Lost and now everyone once again belives what the media tells them which is how it was then and now.................................I would love to talk to anyone and share this

  • Love Him, so much, I would like to hear his voice , real voice in this video

  • Well. What is going on with Neil Young? I've listened to him for many years, and liked him. I love my world on a string. He's gone through a creative revival. This is the best new material from anyone in music I've heard all year.(s) I know he never left, and I followed him down some weird paths over the years, but this is genius. It's like he's realizing that promise from Tonight's the Night.

  • Keep writing music NEIL YOUNG is a dieing breed of musician :( i am 26 and love it

  • just amazing

  • <3

  • What a wonderful song!

  • one of his best albums he just gets better every year been a fan since springfield

  • Perełka!

  • Saw Neil do this at Farm Aid. He looked quite upset when he sang it.

  • Seems a bit too easy to gripe about Bush 2 getting us into a war. It's OK to slaughter some 3,000 Americans in their own country and then do nothing about it. Have so many already forgotten 9/11/01? Perhaps Mr. Young should brag about what a great president LBJ was. Was LBJ's Viet Nam and the great welfare society a good Democrat creation? 58,000 dead soldiers from early 1960's until 1975. Children born exempt of married parents? Makes Bush 2 look pretty damn good. When a people reject God...

  • @lrenturn Fair play. One of the most moronic posts ever. An anti war song from an antiwar singer and you turn it into GOP v Dem. Neil Young was against Vietnam. I bet you weren't. BTW Iraq didn't cause 9/11, you were just told that. I thought you all knew that by know. Apparently not. I'm an atheist but if there is a god, I think he'll reject stupid people.

  • @ferryboy so many dumb people in this world. You know that everyone is a product of society, our society produces retards like you. Nobody ever claimed that iraq had anything to do with 9/11 that was the Taliban lead by Osama out of Afghanistan. You just made yourself look like a moron by trying to call out someone else with total wrong info, Info that is easily and widely available on the internet. Iraq was started over the claim of WMD's lol if God rejects stupid people, have fun in hell.

  • @TheArmyRanger82nd Read the post I answered. A George bush fan sems to think Iraq was involved in 9/11. They weren't. It was your friends the Saudis. BTW are you really a member of the Rangers? i hope your not! I asumed US Rangers were better educated than you. The Taliban had fuck all to do with 9/11. Fact. The Taliban were not lead by Osama Bin Laden.

  • @TheArmyRanger82nd Oh and BTW, How did the weapons of mass destruction thing go? Not too good? Non existant like lots of people were saying? Oh well, never mind. we invaded a country by mistake. I honestly hope you are not involved anywhere near the US military because you're so dumb. Dumb people in the military leads to Abu Ghraib. You weren't there were you? Seem stupid enough.

  • @TheArmyRanger82nd Sorry but 9/11 was an inside job. It's obvious.

  • simple but powerful

  • What a great tune .Anice surprise was when my 8 year old son James told me he liked this tune, a revelation from a Justin Bieber fan

  • WOW! he's got the touch...both in his voice and the guitar...simple, refined, subtle, elegant....amazing! Great camera-work...it's nice the way the camera explores Neil and his guitar all in one shot...well produced through and through.

  • OMG, his voice is the very same as it was in the sixties and seventies! The very same. Wonderful!

  • how many young men and women have died fighting for other people's wars? every day there is someone killed in a senseless war.... how many families have a deep hole inside them right now losing one of their loved ones in a senseless war...god did not create wars or problems for mankind, it is mankind who create wars...love and peace to u all peace loving folks! enjoy n appreciate what little simplicities we have these days in today's mad world run by mad politicians n their minions!

  • A true classic ... the latin feel between the Am and E and Neil's touch is outstanding ..thrill ...deep and just right ..Le Noise is Neil classic ..did it again !!

  • beautiful song, guitar, lyrics. Great artist!

  • real guitars best voice best songwriter hardcore.

  • My favorite part is when he "hit a bad chord". It is the glue of the song.

  • @kylasdaddy he, s reffering the song called "Ohio" , if your here , youve heard it , the gov. didnt like a rockstar advertizing thier slaughter at Kent State , . . .

  • @hammeron39 I merely saw it as a poetic way of saying "I tried really hard, I sort of f@#ked it up, I kept going" or, Neil's just another flawed human, just like everyone else. The words flow so wonderfully, yet it's imperfect. An American Zen sort of thing...

  • Neil Young is excellent and I have been listening to him since he firt appeared at Woodstock in 1969. I know because I was there and this song says it all. I only wish people would stop complaining about the war and protest about it again. It works!!!! FYI I am a hippie still and we managed to actually stopped the War in Viet NAM. tHIS IS A GREAT SONG.

  • @surferrandys Hippies protests may have swayed public opinion against the american involvement in the viet nam war slightly but records of polls show most americans favoured what their government was doing. it ended because the americans finally realised they couldn't win it and it just petered out, hippies look at the 60's thru bong coloured glasses. most of them were there to throw a few rocks and score a little free love afterwards.

  • @surferrandys

I agree with you. I was there too.

This country could use some of that thinking now!!!

  • @surferrandys

yep magic! Neil Young has made it again. May he live forever... He will btw and he's song's will remain for a long time...

  • peace man

    tear jerking song

    im in love

and i live on an army base

  • Awesome.

  • Does it happen that you answer in this channel?

I have a very simple & private quest. But I can't mention them here.

Could I talk to you later?

  • What a great tune.Played in the car today and my wife said as it started .You have,nt played Trans am for a while !

  • very sad song,,,,

  • for lack of a better word, brilliant!

  • This song is beautiful, poignant, and heartfelt. We have war because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. We are still looking for a leader to lead us out of war and into lasting peace. So far the politicians only disappoint us.

  • Merci Georges Lang (RTL France) de m'avoir fait découvrir cette chanson. It's a realy amazing one!

  • Another Great song By Neil !

  • Who named Bob Dylan?

  • thi might sound mean or bad but... I hate his voice, although i love the songs he writes.

  • @MegaPanzers1 I'm sorry for you, Neil has 1 of the most distinct Guitar / Voice combo's out there!!! there's a few that come close Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings have it, but not like Neil!!!

  • @MrGeltabs i know, i just don't like it, it's subjective, I cannot control it, it's just the way I am, sorry :)

  • but i hit a bad chord

  • 9 people need to go die lol

  • same voice doesn't change a bit..wow!!

  • fucking mcdonalds advert on a neil young vid. fuck youtube!

  • I just saw him tonight in Toronto <3 it was amazing!

  • nine persons sucks my head....:(

  • great neil!!!! immortal!!!!

  • whoa , this is some great music.

  • I love this song and I am proud that Neil is Canadian, One of our greats. Peace to all people world wide.

  • the lyrics are amazing and it's sung with so much passion

  • Damn Niel Young knows his way around a guitar. I could listen to him play this song all day.

Not even so much about him singing thats pretty damn good for his age. But the guitar just sounds so good.

  • May 1st 2011 -US announced osama was dead.

May 1st 1945 -US announced hitler was dead.

May 1st 1776 -The illuminati was formed.

  • What kind of Guild is that?

  • Just watched last night's show in Baltimore. The acoustics in the Hippodrome are fantastic. I swear I don't think he missed a single note. The show was the best virtuoso I've ever seen. He may be 66, but his music is timeless. I can't find any video of the Boston or NYC show that sounded anything like the music I heard last night. Blew my mind, Neil, again! Thank You.

  • How a man can release a song of this quality on his 43rd solo album is beyond me.

    Legend

  • @EoghanKeegan

    Yeah . . . 43rd huh . . . wow. Brilliance.

  • How many hours did I protest? Even when my child's father got shipped home from Viet Nam in a box with a flag. How many of you have done anything for the USA? There was a time when people actually knew about war. Do you? LOVE!!!

  • Neil blew my mind with this last night in Boston..

  • @NickStrattonMusic i could have gone to that!

  • Comment removed

  • Who is this old guy? Kinda fun to hear those signature licks. Almost reminds me of little Scotty Miller. Something about smoke and water...

  • @ChezKiva it's neil young man

  • @TheDaleDenton (I mentioned Scotty M. for Neil's sake. He helped build Young's studio, what 30 years ago?)

  • just heard this for the first time and i know exactly what the next few hours of my life will entail.... i have to learn this this shit is as ever neil song fuckin amazing.... hes got a song for every feeling and every moment of my life

  • Saw him in Richmond, Va tonight when he performed this it blew me away...Incredible show Neil!!

  • Watched Neil rock out to this song at the dpac in durham NC last night. The mans still got it. Simply amazing

  • One of the greatest story tellers ever. Listen and learn !!!!

  • i LOVE this!!!

  • most artists of his era cant keep up with their past hits....this proves he can surpass them

  • This song is amazing!

and I gotta give my cousin adam props for his skills behind the camera on this one

  • This is WISDOM. It's just perfect. A tale of his life and ours.

  • TRAVIAN

  • one of the only true hippies left..

  • Beautiful, simple piece.

  • Neil is at his best doing accoustic stuff, a master!

  • terrific song

  • Beaautiful...

  • Take that, Justin Beaver and Spitney Beers. Even as an old codger, Neil still kicks ALL of your asses!!

  • this is deeply beautiful.

  • krieg oder liebe... es ist manchmal doch so eng verknüpft...

  • The 2004 release was great - this shit is boring, especially when he knows or should know the truth.

  • I dont know about this, I think I prefer the younger Neil Young...

  • @Satantransvertdeath You have to appreciate the song though. It has nothing to do with age. It is pure!!

  • What a great tune

  • How is Justin Bieber big and this is not?

    Beautiful

  • Why don't they play music like this on the radio? This song is amazing.

  • It's great to see him up close in action and in perfect harmony with his acoustic guitar. Can't beat it.

  • It's great to see him up close in action and in perfect harmony with his acoustic guitar. Can't beat it.

  • ck out brianrichmanmusic

  • For me, this song is the best of the Le Noise album.

On this take, we can clearly hear that all the guitar work is from Daniel Lanois.

The only thing that is hard to copy is Neil Young's own voice.

    Very Unique.

    Éric From Canada

  • Love you NieL .

  • This song stays forever

    Yoosep

  • How does someone get better and better as he gets older?? Neil young is one of a kind. Classes above the rest!

  • This song holds no surprises for me. It's what I have come to expect from the genius that is Neil Young. Outstanding.

  • Great song

  • I don't like this song i love love love this song. the most beautiful of that album and the most sentimental. Remember the old days of Neil Young. Peace for all people around the world.

  • @MAFCardoso not just the old days... he's been pissing genius for his entire career

  • I think in all modesty, that this genius should have received this award since indeed for a long time, but for all that he made. I doubt that he attaches a real importance for this grammy, he is very too humble for that.

We love him or not. I do, and I'm proud. Thanks Neil.

  • Glad that Muse won the grammy, but man this came close...

  • This one is sooooooooo genius ... Love Niel more then Dylan or Cash.

  • This could have won the grammy too.

  • Genius

  • this is music from the heart not some record company man telling you who you should be most of todays music cannot compete with real musicans of early days todays music lacks love & feeling keep it up neil 30 plus yr fan

  • I go about the Saint Louie area asking if anyone has heard about this album and no one knows. Yes, it is not right that there are 8 dislikes. They probably only remember Southern Man, not that SM wasn't a good song.

Neil Young is on the cover of Mojo this month. You get a CD of Harvest Revisted along with the magazine.

  • Wonder how many of the 200,000+ views of this have been me whilst stoned...

    Utter brilliance.

  • @146degrees The sad part is that in all this time this video ONLY has 253,550 views.. When Garbage pop songs with nothing but Auto-Tuners get 300+ million views because of kids and young adults that wouldn't know a good song if it slapped them upside the face.

  • @Chrisfragger1 Spot on! Couldn't put it any better myself.

  • @Chrisfragger1 yeah that is sad, atleast we can take comfort that there still is good music being made.

  • Many days I sat with my rifle wondering if I would rather be wounded in war or love. I realized better to die with a betrayal of rifle than of love, for with a rifle I die of this world only but with love I die of this and the next. Should I be absent of my breath it is quick but of my love, eternal. In this world a heart is still but a moment but in the other an eternity.

  • He said "It's better to burn out than to fade away", but fading away may even have its positive side.

  • Choon.

  • 8 people missed the 'Like' button

  • He's not young anymore xD

  • “It’s kind of like a horror movie,” Mr. Young said. “Le Noise, this monster, lives in this house.”

  • I've seen Neil twice now and I'm still a teen, both times have blown me away and I believe that current mainstream music could learn a lot from listening to some Neil Young

  • Love the sounds and the style...And the guitar playing...Simply love Neil Young <3<3<3

  • I like how he put that really small piece of hey hey my my in between verses to link everything together. "I sang for justice and I hit a bad chord, But I still try to sing about love and war"

  • Neil's still right on it!

  • You NEVER hit a bad chord Neil. Thanks for years of GREAT music.

  • one of the world's greatest guitar players

  • 7 people are gay and dont know great music and what neil's song is about

  • @mattiscool5678 you're not gonna believe this, but gays DO know good music when they hear it.

  • @mattiscool5678 One person thinks he "gets" great music, but listens to Neil Young and thinks it's okay to use "stupid"/"lame" and "gay" interchangably.

  • bravo Neil è una vita che le tue canzoni mi accompagnano!!!

  • I really hate this new fad of commenting on the people who dislike the video. "7 People never lived"

Guys its retarded and shows your true age. Stop.

  • Beautiful Song and nice guitar.

  • 6 people think justin bieber and kesha are great musicians

  • @SmellBeforeRainProd kesha is pretty good, JB sucks. Sounds like a little girl. But just because i like Kesha it doesn't mean i disliked this song

  • bloody hell this songs amazing....as good as any vintage neil.

  • wow, i just cried.

  • As I loved the band in the 70's, I am profoundly moved my Neil Young's performance. This is one of the most beautiful songs, ever.

  • Biutiful. Beutiful. Beautyful. Beautiful.

  • Best song on the album

  • 1:41 got the signal to turn off Neil Young was laughing at Sarah being controlled.

  • What a great tune .Neil Young seems to get to the point on this one really quick.Pragmatic ,real and classic Young guitar. Shame that some folks are so full of hate that they are blind to goodness

    regards

    jimmy

  • @RandomMovie17 what albums and songs have you written lately? your the one who sounds conceited

  • @RandomMovie17 you think this song is simple and repetitive, right? well, like all art, it makes sense in the context of how it was created. read about who neil young is, and you'll hear this song differetnly. Just like how kanye's runaway was rolling stone's best song of the year, which is touching because we all know the meaning, you'd be touched by this if you knew neil young's career. which you prob should dude, he's the godfather of grunge!

  • @xn6 donìt waste your time answering to these kind of people.. either they are too stupid and don't even deserve your answer, or they are just having a laugh wrting stupid and agressive stuff to see people getting mad and create some chaos.... it's a pity that people don't really know how to use the power of internet to communicate!!! cheers mate

  • @RandomMovie17

he has over 1000 songs and over 50 albums he has talent you little prick. Do i see you making anything no so stfu go listen to shitty rap or pop that doesnt take any talent since you dont like this which is talent. do you see rappers with a guitar playing and singing. didnt think so. they have a drum machine and they talk fast thats not singing. Why dont you listen to something that takes talent like millions. asshole

  • @Reviews4yourliking Umm im pretty sure neil would endorse listening to whatever music frees your mind. Even if its rap, which i also listen to, which also takes talent, so please keep your ignorant comments to yourself. Thanks.

  • @RandomMovie17 I wanna see you say that to his face, fuckin troll hiding in front of a computer screen and has no life or soul.

  • 3:40 , epic

  • for example ,fat ugly little hispanic chicks in bars on the southside of chicago don't like rock and roll. thats why i flipped her off

  • Anyone know what model of Guild he's playing here?

  • Hey, everyone

I understand how you feel I do, really -- I wrestle with my own misanthropy plenty.

If someone dislikes this -- or anything -- nothing to be done.

Only Love Hope Compassion Understanding Forgiveness is what matters. The more we put our attention there, the better things will be.

This is not judgment. I'll leave that to someone else --

Just listen to what Neil is saying here with your heart and I know you'll get it

It's beyond words -- beyond thought -- what we are

    Blessings

    M
