  • The movie "Carrie" is really sad story. Carrie didn't deserve to die.

  • @YeardleyFlanagan she didn't deserve to be bullied in the first place.

  • I didnt see Carrie as a horror, I saw it as a sad drama/tragedy! All she ever wanted was to be accepted, its such a great movie. This music is so moving & kinda soothing.

The book is also pretty amazing :]

  • Love this piece. I worked it out for piano solo: /watch?v=ybn2o0yrvI8

  • Beautiful song! Sometimes the songs that don't have lyrics are some of the best ones. Because even though there's just music, no words, it still reveals a message. <3333

  • Esta canción es una de las más bellas partituras para el cine , muy buena melodía del maestro Donaggio!para una gran película del maestro De Palma!

  • HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

  • WONDERFUL!!

  • This soundtrack should have won an Oscar...

  • "Someone told my girlfriend that humming makes blowjobs better. All I'm saying is that humming the theme from Carrie is not erotic."

    -Jimmy Carr

  • @CrackThoseClaws whoever said that to your gf must have seen Stepfather II

  • @palexz78

Not my joke. It's Jimmy Carr.

  • To the Devil with false modesty !

  • The opening part of the song was used in some other song or movie, but I can't put my finger on it and it's driving me crazy!

  • this is truly beautiful I mean just listen to it and think about it and how amazing this song is, now, compare this to "I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH" that is just crap no a days. this is a truly beautiful that actually kinda makes me wanna cry. Thumbs up if you agree. :'(

  • @CheekyUnicornsofDoom Why would you compare film music of the 1970's to chart music of the 2010's..? It's just not the kind of thing you compare.

  • @DavidfromBA Thanks, man.

  • @CheekyUnicornsofDoom What does a horror movie theme song have to do with a pop song from 2010? Anyway, there has always been "crap" music, they just don't play those songs on the classics radio station. Also, you seem like one of those pretentious people who think that they know "real music." If something has a beat, it's music, whether you like it or not. People have musical tastes that differ from your own, y'know.

  • @MottoPro I'm just laying some shit down man

  • @CheekyUnicornsofDoom Too bad it made no sense. If you had compared that song to horror movie themes of today, then yeah, it would have made sense.

  • @CheekyUnicornsofDoom --Why are you even comparing the two things? What possible reason is there? Every generation has shitty pop music.

  • kids don't know what good movies are today

  • @chickun1soup80 I don't think that kids should know this is a good movie yet since they're too young to see this

  • @sgtzero1337 hmmm.. u must be one of those "little kids" since u were obviously offended by my comment lol

  • @chickun1soup80 I'm 18 actually, I just knew how to follow rules when I was younger.

  • @sgtzero1337 ummm yeaa.. weirrrrrdddddoooooo

  • @chickun1soup80 Saying that makes you no different to the bullies that were in this movie on my part.

  • @sgtzero1337 [sigh] well use your magical powers on me then!.... NOT.

  • @chickun1soup80 iam a kid and i love carrie poltergeist 1 2 and 3 and halloween friday the 13 pennywise and etc :D while my sister wacthes step it up 3d or water world

  • @MrGboy111 THAT'S WHAT'S UP! when i was younger i watched movies b 4 my time too. nothin wrong with that at all. that's what i was tryin to tell loserface, sgtzero1337

  • @chickun1soup80 Ikr!?!?!?!

  • Best score ever!!!!! Hauntingly beautiful......

  • love the movie but im a big steve king fan

  • I just watched Carrie last night it's still a great movie.

  • que me gusta esta cancion por dios

  • to taka piękna muzyka filmowa :)

  • This movie should be shown to kids for anti bullying classes, despite it being a horror film and all that

  • @efan2011

you're right this movie should be a lesson for those bullies to never bully you might never know what you're victim might do to you kill you perhaps out of vengeance.

  • plug it up plug it up plug it up

  • who would ever guess that it's from such tragic film

  • This Is A Beautiful Theme Song. I also Like Reagan's Theme From The Exorcist 2, It Also Is A Pretty Song.

  • Miley Virus dumped pig's blood on 4 people

  • THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS DESERVED TO DIE. WELL DONE CARRIE! RIP..

  • @kabadaiXXX one of the reasons i like the remake better.

  • @xXDogPersonThingXx Dude the original was way better

  • @16kynewell i know. but the remake was more based off the book.

  • @kabadaiXXX Dis miss Collins deserve to die? she was very nice to Carrie throughout the film and she died too in that fire :P but i still feel sympathy for Carrie. Carrie just imagined that everybody laughed at her, but miss Collins didn't

  • @kabadaiXXX Yes......except for Miss Collins. That poor gym teacher!

  • Thank you! I love this film & music!

  • where was Pedro for Carrie?

  • If the movie stopped right before blood was poured on her, it would been a really nice drama/comedy.

  • albino girls scare me

  • John Travolta was all like: I'm crashin' this car oh my GAHD!

  • listen to the other song for the last time we'll pay

  • I don't know if it effects anyone else in teh same way but I find this music chills me.

  • So beautiful!!

  • carrie 4ever!

  • me and carrie are sort of simmilar we were both people who didnt fit in and got bullied alo

  • This music is beautiful and haunting. Makes me want to cry every time I hear it.

  • it happen every time in real life. bullying, teeseing,it took something more tramadice to destructs someone to even kill or take a life.a world a lifetime of bullying and make fun of.

  • it happen every time in real life. bullying, teeseing,it took something more tramadice to destructs someone to even kill or take a life.

  • Although the end is really creepy how Carrie's mom dies.. it's still sad the way the house just destructs... Like sucks that that was the fate for Carrie when the humiliation and bullying was done to her.. and the only person Carrie found peace with was her mom, and no one else =( All of the teens were dumb to prank her.. it just triggered a domino effect of tragedy. I'm looking for the organ song at the end in the house!!

  • I don't understand how the girl died of the water with the hose (girl with cap) Eh maybe it's hot water, well she deserves it. Out of all movies, John Travolta chooses this movie to be his first

  • ohhh God this is sad, the music is beautiful and real real sad as well as the film, i don't see it as a horror film but more as a very dramatic, tragic sad film, everytime i see it and listen to this music it makes me want to cry!

  • @nikitaxs1 i cry everytime i see the movie and when i read the book. the acting is fantastic and well paced.

  • The book is really creepy, but because it was King's first isn't quite as good when compared to say, The Dark Tower

  • @deathdude650 I haven't read the book but I really want to, How much different is it from the movie, is it much darker?

  • @ThinkPink866 it goes deeper into the characters and the ending is different and ya I think it's darker than the movie was

  • @deathdude650 Which do you like better?

  • @ThinkPink866 I can't choose they are both great for different reasons. The way the story is told by the book, changing between interviews in an investigation about Carrie to the event that led to the interviews, is really done well.

I think that with the movie they made a good decision to trim it down from the book because it had a lot they couldn't show because of pacing, and the choice of the actors is great.

  • @deathdude650 I agree, the acting was fantastic. I was really impressed with Sissy Spacek because whenever I watch the movie, it's like I can almost feel what Carrie's feeling. I saw the remake too, so now I see that they got the investigation thing from the book.

  • 4 people are bullies

  • Pino Donaggio should have won an Oscar for his Carrie score!

  • I find the theme as emotional as the theme to Edward Scissorhands

  • This brings back memories of the time I was lonely and talking to the the Gods.

  • The music for this film is so beautiful but sad. What really made me cry during the movie was the music during Carrie's death and Sue's dream. Carrie and Tommy shouldn't have died in this movie. He was the only one that actually loved her and Carrie was such a sweet girl but with a terrible life and she deserved a better ending than what the sign said in Sue's dream. 'Carrie White burns in hell' NOW THAT WAS JUST HEARTBRAKING.

  • the most beautiful thing I've ever heard

  • The '70s was the pinnacle for film soundtracks.

  • I never saw Carrie's character as "scary", in fact, i was actually on her side when she was killing all those other teenagers. I know that this is just a movie, but they needed to understand that she had feelings and if you push someone like her for a long period of time then shes bound to snap sometime.

  • @CharmedHalliwells In the book she took revenge on all those students but in the movie it seemed she had mixed feelings. She had more of a look of insanity on her face than anger. She snapped back into reality when she got back to the house. Even though she killed all those people, I really don't think she meant it and she should've had a better ending.

  • @CharmedHalliwells I, too, LOVED the way Carrie "got even" with the people that "gave her a 'hard time'!" In my opinion, it serves them right! In my opinion, nothing like seeing bullies "getting a taste of their OWN medicine!" To THIS day, I (DO) wonder makes people want to "make life tougher/(more) strenuous" for others-when HELP IS AVAILABLE.

  • HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL!! I LOVED THIS MOVIE. IT WASN'T SCARY, IT WAS SAD,EERIE DRAMA

  • The music is absolutely breathtaking.....melancholy. Makes u just sit and think. I can listen to this 100 rimes. I play the clarinet and I learned to play this......B E A U T I F U L!!!

  • It's a great sound track to a classic masterpiece.

You don't need a maga budget to make great films like this.

  • The thing is that Carrie is classified as a horror film and book, but once you watch or read it, you forget it is. It's more of a tragic story than a scary one. You really see the emotions of Carrie, and I think that's a powerful thing....

  • @WinterChilledHeart

That is exactly what I thought. I think that Carrie is more of a tragic parable. You push someone to the brink and then you knock them over the edge and then they've snapped in front of you. Stephen King himself said he based "Carrie White" off girls he knew while he taught at a school who fit the image we saw Carrie in. Overall, it's a fine piece of work from a household icon who didn't even know if he wanted to finish Carrie. His wife salvaged a draft from the trash.

  • Je la trouve pas si moche que ça sur cette photo

  • Great and terrific !

  • This is such a sad beautiful song. Carrie is one of the most sad movies I have ever watched in my life.

  • @TudorRose85 I TOTALLY AGREE.......EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS THEME MUSIC, I CRY. I FEEL SORRY FOR CARRIE, AND IT'S ONLY A MOVIE. THAT'S POWERFUL.....

  • My late girlfriend's name was Carrie. She was a tall 5 foot 7 beautiful blonde brit and everyone loved her.

  • Pino Donaggio has a wonderful talent with music

this theme almost made me cry cause it's so beautiful yet sad

  • Next time I take a shower

    I'm gonna play this

  • @daisyhinojosa23 Id do the same thing,lol.

  • @daisyhinojosa23 i'll sneak up outside the door with the bucket of pads above door

  • @daisyhinojosa23 me too lol

  • @daisyhinojosa23 PORN!!!

  • is that a recorder or flute that comes in half way through - I'm terrible at identifying instruments!

  • @paulac2006 yea it sounds like a recorder. flutes usally sound more higher pitched i cant explain. :)

  • felt sorry for her , everyone picked on her because she was diff so what if she was diff

  • @stuwba68 i kinda feel that way about myself too

  • simply beautiful

  • one of de palma's greatest films. a masterpiece.

  • man dude carrie had it hard even in death people hated her all she wanted was to be accepted =( just seeing her smile in the movie and then when she was humilated man but out of all the deaths her date was the saddest cause he died from a prank

  • @randomtv57 I never understood why they had him die. He was the only one that actually loved her.

  • @randomtv57 Its even sadder and makes me madder (unintentional ryming) when Tommy Ross died without let Carrie know it wasnt him. It was fucking Chris Harginson that bitch! (sorry seen this too much)

  • @EvenInHerYouth1997 dont be sorry i felt the same way when i saw the movie the first time =)

  • @randomtv57 Gahhh and it was even his fault. It makes me cry because Tommy actually liked Carrie.

  • @randomtv57 when i see the death of all the motherfuckers not count of the boyfriend obviously i like him seriously i enjoy the death of the girls who did the prank to her

  • this theme is just so sad, yet calming and soothing

  • I am upset that she never last til graduation and had a real life with a man that loves her. However, I'm glade she went to the prom, danced, and got her first kiss (winning Prom Queen but doesn't count) before she died <:) I'm kind of upset that they portrayed her as evil at the end when she grab's sue while she's covered in pig blood. She's not like that she's a very pretty girl!

  • Carrie wasn't so scary for me- yeah, it was "chilling" but not frightening.

More than anything, it was just so sad.

  • @Treemeadow Yeah, agreed. Its not really a horrorfilm, but still really great annyways.

  • @Treemeadow I liked the storyline a lot, it wasn't the scary that would have gave me nightmares, but the scene when Margret pulls Carrie into the closet and Carrie screams did kind send shivers down my spine lol

  • so beautiful!

  • Such a beautiful piece for a horror movie. I Love it! Carrie is one of my favorite horror movies of all time

  • Carrie White is my heroine! lol

  • @TheMegaAhaaaa :D Yeah...mine too!

  • this is so beautiful and sad it makes me wanna cry... Especially at 1:31...

  • Sublime inspiração musical, maravilhoso.

  • one think "tender music, tender movie",but is one of the big wrongs!Try this,or "Cannibal Holocaust",for example...beautiful melodies and horryfing horrors!

  • Aww *tear*

  • nice

  • this is my favorite song in a horror movie but it is so sad make you wanna cry.

  • Right at 1:31it just puts me in tears. I love this movie.

  • such a beautiful and sad theme... it really makes you feel sorry for carrie...

  • Pino Donaggio's music actually brings tears to my eyes, every friggin time I hear it!

  • They just dont make good horror movies like this anymore....shame.

  • In my opinion, this sounds like funeral music.

  • A wonderfully intoxicating score. Pino Donaggio is the greatest ... !!!

  • A stunning musical score. The heavy piano reminds you of the hell of other classmates and all the frustrations of being a student and the uplift and bells signal hope, the flute a kind of gentleness. Awesome and sadly underrated because of the movie's genre; rarely does a score so acutely capture the essence of a movie.

  • I love the flute part. Very touching.

  • A true work of art. Pino Donaggio should be proud.

  • This song is great...I remember watching Carrie for the first time at 12. It was pretty scary. I get scared listening to this... and I'm 22 now. Lol

  • It's so painfully beautiful.

  • So sad. Beautiful piece.

  • its so sad to see a pretty girl suffer the way she did for no reason

  • so touching.

    from 1:31 it's just beautiful.

  • my mother hated horror movies but she liked this one..and I remember after the movie was over- she said "Thats not right...they treated that girl horrible"

..almost the same thing she said about Saturday Night Fever...ie: Donna Pascal's character

  • @theoneandonlySS1995

Ok. Where did you leave your brain? You can't type without a brain!

  • Carrie's theme is beautiful, love, tragic, drama and amazing. ;D

  • I luv the movie carrie by why did they have to be so mean to her in the movie watching the ending of the movie creeped me out alot!

  • @monkeylovergal1 my favorite character in the movie is her gym teacher. she's so nice to her! her mother is crazy.

  • Beautiful!!

  • This theme indicates in the beginning that carrie has a sad life it makes me cry and at the shower scene its soothing and relaxing which is the only scene in this movie that carrie relaxes from the reality world.Poor carrie :(

  • @FreddyClown123 yeah :(

she should've just gone after the people who treated her like crap instead of the whole school.

  • Perfect for ICE SKATING

  • please someone tell me who does this song. totally agree with alln posts. Haunting yet beautiful

  • @MrTommyTurk

    Pino Donaggio

  • Carrie is not scary, but got a very good tone. Remember the mirror scene where the text Scool Prom gets spelled backwords. Really make a great tone for the ending.

  • This music appears at the very beginning when ahe`s having her first period. All the girls are taking a bat and since she`s terriby scared to hell, the others make fun of her.

  • i think this should be one of the best horror films in history

  • It is, in all list for best horror it's always in the top twenty.

  • @orrkhari it IS one of the best if not THE best

  • In my opinion, this music/score is (somewhat) eerie (hey it's from a HORROR movie, right?), YET SOOTHING and great for contemplation.

  • i love this movie and book! its sad at the ending :( poor carrie she had a horrible life :( kids picking on her for no reason and her mom almost tried to kill her! so yeah she had a sad life :(

  • In your opinion, if this film had been made today, do you feel Carrie would've "vented" her anger and frustrations via firearm(s) (remember Columbine?) or some other way(s)?

  • @AngelofAnguish

Probably not. I don't think they'd deviate from the whole telekinesis angle unless the director chose to have her fire guns floating in the air or something.

  • incredible theme

  • I was introduced to this song by Buckethead and I'm really liking it!

  • How can I download this song???

  • You can try youtube to mp3 converter. It works great and yes, its free.

  • OMG WOW totally worked!! THanks!!!

  • You' re welcome Rikeeboy.
