I didnt see Carrie as a horror, I saw it as a sad drama/tragedy! All she ever wanted was to be accepted, its such a great movie. This music is so moving & kinda soothing.
Beautiful song! Sometimes the songs that don't have lyrics are some of the best ones. Because even though there's just music, no words, it still reveals a message. <3333
this is truly beautiful I mean just listen to it and think about it and how amazing this song is, now, compare this to "I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH" that is just crap no a days. this is a truly beautiful that actually kinda makes me wanna cry. Thumbs up if you agree. :'(
@CheekyUnicornsofDoom What does a horror movie theme song have to do with a pop song from 2010? Anyway, there has always been "crap" music, they just don't play those songs on the classics radio station. Also, you seem like one of those pretentious people who think that they know "real music." If something has a beat, it's music, whether you like it or not. People have musical tastes that differ from your own, y'know.
@chickun1soup80 iam a kid and i love carrie poltergeist 1 2 and 3 and halloween friday the 13 pennywise and etc :D while my sister wacthes step it up 3d or water world

you're right this movie should be a lesson for those bullies to never bully you might never know what you're victim might do to you kill you perhaps out of vengeance.
@kabadaiXXX Dis miss Collins deserve to die? she was very nice to Carrie throughout the film and she died too in that fire :P but i still feel sympathy for Carrie. Carrie just imagined that everybody laughed at her, but miss Collins didn't
it happen every time in real life. bullying, teeseing,it took something more tramadice to destructs someone to even kill or take a life.a world a lifetime of bullying and make fun of.
Although the end is really creepy how Carrie's mom dies.. it's still sad the way the house just destructs... Like sucks that that was the fate for Carrie when the humiliation and bullying was done to her.. and the only person Carrie found peace with was her mom, and no one else =( All of the teens were dumb to prank her.. it just triggered a domino effect of tragedy. I'm looking for the organ song at the end in the house!!
I don't understand how the girl died of the water with the hose (girl with cap) Eh maybe it's hot water, well she deserves it. Out of all movies, John Travolta chooses this movie to be his first
ohhh God this is sad, the music is beautiful and real real sad as well as the film, i don't see it as a horror film but more as a very dramatic, tragic sad film, everytime i see it and listen to this music it makes me want to cry!
@ThinkPink866 I can't choose they are both great for different reasons. The way the story is told by the book, changing between interviews in an investigation about Carrie to the event that led to the interviews, is really done well.
I think that with the movie they made a good decision to trim it down from the book because it had a lot they couldn't show because of pacing, and the choice of the actors is great.
@deathdude650 I agree, the acting was fantastic. I was really impressed with Sissy Spacek because whenever I watch the movie, it's like I can almost feel what Carrie's feeling. I saw the remake too, so now I see that they got the investigation thing from the book.
The music for this film is so beautiful but sad. What really made me cry during the movie was the music during Carrie's death and Sue's dream. Carrie and Tommy shouldn't have died in this movie. He was the only one that actually loved her and Carrie was such a sweet girl but with a terrible life and she deserved a better ending than what the sign said in Sue's dream. 'Carrie White burns in hell' NOW THAT WAS JUST HEARTBRAKING.
I never saw Carrie's character as "scary", in fact, i was actually on her side when she was killing all those other teenagers. I know that this is just a movie, but they needed to understand that she had feelings and if you push someone like her for a long period of time then shes bound to snap sometime.
@CharmedHalliwells In the book she took revenge on all those students but in the movie it seemed she had mixed feelings. She had more of a look of insanity on her face than anger. She snapped back into reality when she got back to the house. Even though she killed all those people, I really don't think she meant it and she should've had a better ending.
@CharmedHalliwells I, too, LOVED the way Carrie "got even" with the people that "gave her a 'hard time'!" In my opinion, it serves them right! In my opinion, nothing like seeing bullies "getting a taste of their OWN medicine!" To THIS day, I (DO) wonder makes people want to "make life tougher/(more) strenuous" for others-when HELP IS AVAILABLE.
The music is absolutely breathtaking.....melancholy. Makes u just sit and think. I can listen to this 100 rimes. I play the clarinet and I learned to play this......B E A U T I F U L!!!
The thing is that Carrie is classified as a horror film and book, but once you watch or read it, you forget it is. It's more of a tragic story than a scary one. You really see the emotions of Carrie, and I think that's a powerful thing....
That is exactly what I thought. I think that Carrie is more of a tragic parable. You push someone to the brink and then you knock them over the edge and then they've snapped in front of you. Stephen King himself said he based "Carrie White" off girls he knew while he taught at a school who fit the image we saw Carrie in. Overall, it's a fine piece of work from a household icon who didn't even know if he wanted to finish Carrie. His wife salvaged a draft from the trash.
man dude carrie had it hard even in death people hated her all she wanted was to be accepted =( just seeing her smile in the movie and then when she was humilated man but out of all the deaths her date was the saddest cause he died from a prank
@randomtv57 Its even sadder and makes me madder (unintentional ryming) when Tommy Ross died without let Carrie know it wasnt him. It was fucking Chris Harginson that bitch! (sorry seen this too much)
@randomtv57 when i see the death of all the motherfuckers not count of the boyfriend obviously i like him seriously i enjoy the death of the girls who did the prank to her
I am upset that she never last til graduation and had a real life with a man that loves her. However, I'm glade she went to the prom, danced, and got her first kiss (winning Prom Queen but doesn't count) before she died <:) I'm kind of upset that they portrayed her as evil at the end when she grab's sue while she's covered in pig blood. She's not like that she's a very pretty girl!
@Treemeadow I liked the storyline a lot, it wasn't the scary that would have gave me nightmares, but the scene when Margret pulls Carrie into the closet and Carrie screams did kind send shivers down my spine lol
one think "tender music, tender movie",but is one of the big wrongs!Try this,or "Cannibal Holocaust",for example...beautiful melodies and horryfing horrors!
A stunning musical score. The heavy piano reminds you of the hell of other classmates and all the frustrations of being a student and the uplift and bells signal hope, the flute a kind of gentleness. Awesome and sadly underrated because of the movie's genre; rarely does a score so acutely capture the essence of a movie.
my mother hated horror movies but she liked this one..and I remember after the movie was over- she said "Thats not right...they treated that girl horrible"
..almost the same thing she said about Saturday Night Fever...ie: Donna Pascal's character
This theme indicates in the beginning that carrie has a sad life it makes me cry and at the shower scene its soothing and relaxing which is the only scene in this movie that carrie relaxes from the reality world.Poor carrie :(
Carrie is not scary, but got a very good tone. Remember the mirror scene where the text Scool Prom gets spelled backwords. Really make a great tone for the ending.
This music appears at the very beginning when ahe`s having her first period. All the girls are taking a bat and since she`s terriby scared to hell, the others make fun of her.
i love this movie and book! its sad at the ending :( poor carrie she had a horrible life :( kids picking on her for no reason and her mom almost tried to kill her! so yeah she had a sad life :(
In your opinion, if this film had been made today, do you feel Carrie would've "vented" her anger and frustrations via firearm(s) (remember Columbine?) or some other way(s)?
Probably not. I don't think they'd deviate from the whole telekinesis angle unless the director chose to have her fire guns floating in the air or something.
The movie "Carrie" is really sad story. Carrie didn't deserve to die.

This theme indicates in the beginning that carrie has a sad life it makes me cry and at the shower scene its soothing and relaxing which is the only scene in this movie that carrie relaxes from the reality world.Poor carrie :(

@FreddyClown123 yeah :(
she should've just gone after the people who treated her like crap instead of the whole school.

In my opinion, this music/score is (somewhat) eerie (hey it's from a HORROR movie, right?), YET SOOTHING and great for contemplation.

i love this movie and book! its sad at the ending :( poor carrie she had a horrible life :( kids picking on her for no reason and her mom almost tried to kill her! so yeah she had a sad life :(

In your opinion, if this film had been made today, do you feel Carrie would've "vented" her anger and frustrations via firearm(s) (remember Columbine?) or some other way(s)?

@AngelofAnguish
Probably not. I don't think they'd deviate from the whole telekinesis angle unless the director chose to have her fire guns floating in the air or something.
