  • Justin Hayward is and has always been a very UNDERRATED rock guitarist. IMO he's one of the best of all time!

  • I missed this concert, I was stationed in the Philippines at the time, but they do deserve to be in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame indeed.

  • .....This Song.... Is Such A Fabulous Reflection.....Truth....Fire....Part Of The Moody Magic....

  • the very idea that there should be a Hall of Fame W/O the Moody Blues IS appalling.....oh well...who cares what the majority thinks......lowest common denominator....anyway :)))

  • Say them at sheas theatre buffalo... great concert

  • This is real deal, kings of art rock at one of there best songs.i have seen them meny times and they allways kill.Long live the moodys

  • Got to see them 3 times. Shame how the situation with Patrick Moraz unfolded. One of the best bands in the history of R-n-R.

  • @SunnBurn Cool!! I have seen them 3 times too..Once in Daytona Beach, FLorida, 2nd and 3rd times in Orlando, Florida..where did u see them play?

  • @likewowmanhey O'Connell Center in Gainesville, FL; George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA; and the "Orlando O-Rena," Orlando, FL. Solid performances every time. A great band.

  • @SunnBurn Is that Patrick in this video? Looks like him but the hair color is off.. Saw them in in 86 in Dallas.

  • @zappatx YES.... it´s Patrick on the video... I love Mike Pinder... But I also Love Patrick Moraz... The Moodies are GREAT whoever they have in the keys.... This band really ROCKS.....

  • incredible.....one of the best bands of my era.....

  • Maybe They are working on it cause like I said I just seen it happened I watched this vid featured it and it went into a playlist of a bunch of moody tunes so if You or I feature a vid could go into a playlist if it is the first vid on a channel and that first vid is the start of a playlist if a playlist is featured? youtube rocks! I think they are working on it cause I just seen it happen

  • It was so cool somehow I featured Your tune from the moodys and it went right into a super cool moody blues play list on my chan but now it don't happen WTF! it was awesome! Youtube needs to get the play list thing right.

  • I positively have to see these guys in concert before they retire permanently! I've been a fan since 1970 and never grow tired of their sound.

  • The Moodies are truly phenomenal!! Pure brilliance and perfection!! Their music is full of real emotion and feeling. So inspirational and so mesmerizing!! I grew up on this band and their music truly impacted my life and touched my soul so deeply. The Moodies have touched so many souls through the years and still to this day!! So beautiful!! A timeless band indeed!! Cant wait to see them this spring!! :)) The Moodies forever my friends!! ♥

  • Mike Pinder........... Missed him

  • I was at this show! 24 years old and we were sitting just to the right of John Lodge almost onstage.

  • I think their best song, takes me back to a much safer place in time when being a child was freedom to play at the park with friends, walking to school alone without fear of danger and traditional family values were the norm.

  • The Moody Blues should make another album!

  • FAB-U-LOUS!!!!! Saw them again in Birmingham on Saturday and can't get it out of my head. LOVE THEM SO MUCH :o)

  • Graeme's fill at 2:55 is sublime!

  • This is one of my favorite Moody Blues songs. It has driven me crazy for years and years, like over 20, that Justin delays singing the opening lyrics. It always sounds like he's playing catch up. Still, a wonderful band, amazing singer and incredible songwriter.

  • Justin Hayward rocks almost on a cosmic level.

  • this was the first moodies concert i ever went to and the sound was absouletly 1st class.the bbc could not have used the mastertape when put out for television.

  • @salocin671 I had a first gen copy of it and transferred it to cassette at the time. My guess is that this copy on youtube has suffered from being from an off air recording and converting from VHS.

  • @baldbollocks I think it was a poor recording... these guys are amazing perfomers. I mean you have to admit, these days will never see these kind of musicians again, EVER.

  • GOOD TUNE

  • Holy crap! This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

  • This guy can play 12-string acoustic or Fender 6-string equally well. A more accomplished rock guitarist has yet to show himself. I love the Moody Blues.

  • @KENZOWAL Justin generally plays Gibson guitars, whether an acoustic or his red E335 6 string electric.

  • @KENZOWAL he's good & yes under-rated but get serious there are many other more "Accomplished" players, i won't even begin to name them, just go to nashville

you'd be amazed & you would not recognize any or most names except an exceptional few...

  • Justin is my favorist guitarist.

  • Excellent song and video!

  • Michael love this song thank you!

  • From a musician point of view. This tune is phenomenal. The ochestration, the chorus, guitar licks. Just has it all. Look at the keyborad guy and the drummer. There not showboating, that's what passion looks like.

  • ....Legends ....Having Fun.......

  • what were theytrying to do?kic the founding fathes of rock and roll out of the hall/because it didn't sound like the record

and njethe di his voice/how about a sustitute actor not amusician on stage?

  • Isn't Genesis considered Prog? They're going into the HoF.

  • Justin contact me please. I went to school with your sister, Maria. Your dad was my form teacher in King William Street School Before Nights in White Satain my mum, Grace, gave your old van petrol on your dad's accout lol from Bath Road Garage. You are the best band ever. My mum loved you and I love youe band. Take care Justin and thanks for your music

  • THE PERFECT LOVE SONG..THINK ABOUT IT...FOR YOU RENEE, EVEN THOUGH WE NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO MAKE IT THE WAY I HAD ENVISIONED HONEY, I MISS AND WILL ALWAYS WANT AND REMEMBER YOU AND HOW YOU GOT ME OUT OF MY LADY FUNK..I OWE YOU, I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU MY LIFE AND SHARE THE FUTURE TOGETHER..PEACE AND GOOD LUCK SWEETIE..YOU ARE THE BEST AND WHOEVER GETS YOU FOR LIFE IS THE LUCKIEST DUDE IN THIS WORLD..x0..pete...

  • a real part of rock and roll history.

  • they initially refused to donate money to the rock and roll hall of fame when it was founded, simply because they felt that one artists music should not be compared to any other.....unfortunately they've been black balled by the hall of fame and all rolling stone lists ever since.

    its sad

  • thats not it at all, the reason they arent in is because they are progressive and the rock and roll hall of fame refuses to put progessive artists in, such as yes and ELP. Still messed up though.

  • The R&R HOF would rather have Donna Summers and ABBA. Go figure...

  • How can these guys NOT be in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame??? I guess they haven't given enough money to The DNC.

  • its because they are progressive, same thing happened to yes and elp.

  • Because Jann Wenner is stupid, just like his magazine.

  • Rolling stone today is nothing but rap and pornagraphy .

  • They're not in because they're not a punk/alternative band.

  • @libssuc RIGHT! Deborah Harry is in, so is Flashmaster(?) They are forgetting that they are a "Rock n' Roll" hall of FAME. Chicago isn't in either, or Rare Earth WTF! They have lost all credibility the last several years, so who cares who they induct anymore. Moody Blues should have been inducted at least ten years ago. Terry Stewart in New York is the President. I think his email is stewart@rockhall.com. Everyone send him a demand that the Moody Blues finally get in!

  • @libssuc Well, as long as Madonna's in, it's ok. What a joke when you compare their work to hers. This song alone should've done it.

  • @libssuc Sadly the R&R Hall of Fame overlooks progressive rock bands. The moodies are one of many bands that deserve the title. If I had to choose two to go into the Hall of Fame I would pick the Moodies and Badfinger.

  • Hey is that really Barriemore Barlow down there?

  • This is just beautiful: a very special song beautifully performed.

  • i saw them live at madison square garden in 1978...wow, that was a long time ago! they finished up with 'ride my see saw'. great show, shitty accoustics though.

  • I am almost certain I was there for that show

You are right about sound. Worse at the Houston Summit show that year UGH.

They had the world's worst road show until the new manager took over and kicked them in the butt and got them crankiing with some real showmanship. The next date I saw was at Garden State Performing Arts Center and wow Big entourage, dancer-singers, wowl

    What a change.

  • justin!

  • Thanks for posting this. I was there in the audience at the Wembley Arena, and was thrilled finally to be people who had influenced my life so much.

  • ....Totally. Hot. Musicians....

  • @honeystayforever

    Totally hot indeed!

  • this was the first moodies concert i attended been hooked ever since, brings back wonderful memories thanks for sharing,

  • I was at this show! I was living near Earls Court attending college on a exchange program. Awesome show!! I still have my ticket stub~12.5 lbs. British Sterling. Man, does this bring back fond memories of better times and "Days of Futer Past" over 25 years ago...........

  • This a song about End of Times, he say's there's a chance that we can overcome the dark forces underpinning this life, but he seems certain that " The curtain is going to fall". Well see how it plays out. Great song.

  • They are clearly on speed

  • i simply love this group! their music goes deep within my heart! this song is so good! i really can relate this song! thanks!

  • Damn they have some hot guitars

  • I disagree, I don't like the symphony. the instrumentation without horns can stand alone just fine!

  • nothing wrong with the orchestra. it's not fucking up. it's adding depth and layers to the same. and oh your name is what's fucked up

  • damn does John look good in those tight leather pants!!!

  • Moodys My Dream....Moodys Stay Forever....I Wonder....Do The Moodys....Realize....That There Is Fire....Dancing....All Around The Stage....They....Are Part Of The....Fire....Everyday Phenomenon....For Legends....Moodys My Dream....Moodys Stay Forever.....

  • OH I LOVE classic rock, especially bands like the Moody Blues who have a symphany backing them up too!!! I cannot think of many who do that today!!! BOY, they were above their time too, even though I am younger than when they first started!!! AWESOME indeed!!!

  • The Moody Blues music will never sound old either..It definitly out ranks todays' crap that wanna be so called rock and roll bands call music!

  • @truckintim87 very true

  • @truckintim87 wait a minute !!

are you saying that they are better than maroon 5 ?!?!?

    no way !!!!

maroon 5 made such classics as ... ahm ... something .

    maroon 5 , it's like a car man.

  • The true definition of ROCK AND ROLL

  • Yeah, and maybe someday the idiots at the Rock N Roll Museum in Cleveland will invite The Moody Blues (and the Doobie Brothers). Until then, injustice prevails.

  • hhahaha. I thought I was going to cry when they came to my town and I found out right after the concert ended..

  • And they call this crap that bands are doing today music?

This is music , this is beyond talent , it was genus , The 60s and 70s bands rule all time

  • This is becomming my favorite. I've always liked it.

  • i cant believe i've been listening to this song for 35 years and never got tired of it

  • The Moody Blues rule! They have blown me away for 39 years.

  • This is a beautiful song lyrically, and it kicks ass to boot!

  • I have listen to MB for 20, 30 or 40? years and never get tired of this great music. No other comes close to it.

  • I lived during this era of great music!!!

    17 and tomorrow was forever.

  • Genius song man!

  • #2? First, I'm sure not their number 2 fan; I'm the number one fan. Second, I'm not into orgys that include other guys

  • Count me out, lol

  • My favorite JH rocker. Thanks Moodiesfan!

  • Yes, happy birthday John. Saw the Moodies on 7/22 and screamed Happy B'Day to him and I am SURE HE HEARD. HE IS STILL GOOD LOOKING. Again, where did you get all of the songs from the Wembley concert? Would love to know. Please please respond.

  • I have to echo the sentiments of Bluebird and Berrygirl.

  • pre-

    my kingdom for a dash!

  • predino shuffle! fantastic! thanks so much for posting!

  • What a unique talent, what an unparallelled voice, what an exceptional writer and composer, what outstanding musicianship, what stunning presence, what gorgeous looks, what engaging personality, what a guy!

    And what a band!

  • That would be an abbraviation for the Veteran Cosmic Rocker suite: Painted Smile, Reflective Smile, and Veteran Cosmic Rocker.

  • rubenc83, No that great song wasn't on this concert but I can post the rest of the songs from this concert since it is John Lodge's Birthday today.

(07-20-07) So "Isn't Life Strange" will be my next upload. :)

    Said With Love, MoodiesFan

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!! We all hope you have a wonderful b'day!

  • Thanks MoodiesFan for bringing me back to times of sweeter dreams than nowadays, when "Every good boy deserves favour" was my favourite LP !!

  • Would you happen to have the VCR suite from this concert?

  • I didn't know it was his birthday today. Well, Happy Birthday John Lodge!

  • Awesome. More from this great concert!

  • This one was used in "Legend of a Band" their first documentary
