i'm actually making a 3d computer wireworld simulation for making music now

meh, i designed a harware CA-module which simulated the game of life a LOT simpler than this, and a lot faster too... seeing as it was easily small enough to fit on a single microchip per cell(only about 50 logic gates/cell, excluding slow clock-pulse synchronisation thingy which should trigger every cell at the exact same moment(either that or you need a double-clock synchronisation, 1 pulse to get the next state, and one to change states)) and i made it up in my 1st year at university
