  • I got lost in the scene but then you think where are the lights and the camera and Mic ..... Good job :)

  • In all seriousness, I don't find this scene to be very moving. To me, Clem is just sounding just like any other girl who is insecure about her looks. It just seems so vain to me, and not particularly intimate. Just an affirmation of physical attraction, nothing more.

  • @Arbiter567 I can kind of understand what you mean, but I think what's moving about this is that Clementine always tries to be so impulsive and careless and attempts to be a badass for most of the movie, but she was able to be so completely vulnerable with Joel that she was able to admit her insecurities, which she doesn't ever make mention of at any other point in the movie.

  • WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? ARE YOU AFRAID TO LOOK UGLINESS IN THE FACE? WELL HERE! LOOK AT IT! LOOK AT IT! I WANT ALLLL OF YOU TO LOOOK AT IIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!

  • This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. I love those talks you have in bed with the person you love...telling each other every wonderful and horrible thing. I miss it.

  • Kate Winslet deserved the Oscar for this scene alone. Jim Carrey was fantastic too. Just wonderful acting and beautiful dialogue. A gorgeous scene.

  • this always makes me cry

  • ...just this one

  • This is scene is somehow heartbreaking. Beautiful.

  • it's so amazing that people have the creativity and ability to capture moments that are truly this beautiful. everyone has moments in their life that reach this level of beauty but very few can actually capture the idea weather it be real or imaginary. and i love the fact that the director of this movie does it in such a creative and amazing way.

  • "just this one" :')

  • This scene always hits me so... damn hard.

  • Jim Carrey's line "Mierzwiak, please let me keep this memory. Just this one." gets me every time.

  • this is the best scene i've ever seen. it's my favourite movie since i've seen this. it's the perfect moment

  • <3

  • It's been long enough... someone needs to post a better version of this scene. Her voice is all high pitched, it's kinda blurry and the subs aren't necessary. This is one of the best scenes in the film

  • @whimsicalcharm1 I agree, including the distorted version of "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime" after this part ^.^

  • was the words at the bottom spanish subtitles?

  • @prideowns No, portuguese.

  • @prideowns no it was bulgarian

  • Damn, man.. this scene freaking gets to me. I like to think of myself as pretty resilient, but this scene always takes me down.

  • I'm writing an essay on these scene right now. It's due tomorrow. I'm just starting cause i know it will be a breeze.

  • @bmdeerwester Thats awesome. Whats the essay about?

  • Jay Electronica!

  • @KaramuKarim : He sampled something from this scene ?

  • @Chocolatmenthe yeah download Act I

  • If you put a apron on in your kitchen, you're a mama's boy who does women's work. If you put an apron on in a restaurant, you're a chef with a respected skill. Either way you may just be a guy who likes to cook. The perceptions of your schoolmates reflect their own uninteresting lives. Like what you want to like especially if its good.

FYI... This movie is not a chick flick. Your friends just didn't understand it.

  • @CH3CH2OH4U very true

  • Its such a sad but beautiful scene

  • it's so rare that a film transcends itself, when you no longer see the actors, or the director, or hear the music, or believe you are looking through the lens of a camera. This is one of those moments, this is me witnessing an act of pure intimacy.

  • @lulustu Ever had something to hide for fear of getting hurt? You'd act tough too. But inside you're insecure and scared to open up. I know because I am just like her.

  • kate winslet does a flawless american accent

  • love this scene, even tho relationships dunt last there are some memories dat cant be forgotten

  • quick question am i the only guy that likes this movie, or is it just a rarity?

  • @codeman017 No it's not a rarity. I'm a guy and this is my fav movie. I know other guys whose fav movie it is too!

  • @codeman017 idk i just looked at the statistics... it had all females at various ages... just a quick question to all the girls that read this, is it a good thing to like movies like this, or is that considered "weird, or soft" idk... just curious

  • @codeman017 You are defts not the only guy who likes it, my ex-boyfriend is the one who showed it to me because it's one of his favorites and my brother likes it now too.

  • @codeman017 You are not alone. I'm a dude with a film school degree, and this is the last, latest great film that I have seen. Out of thousands I've watched, there are only a few like this. It works on so many levels that it still haunts me today, especially this scene.

  • @CH3CH2OH4U idk i was brought up with the notion if a girl likes it its not cool, i always loved titanic, but i was considered gay at school for liking it... oh well life is full of people that are scared of saying what they mean, if only, if only

  • this movie make me cry sad&happy tears

  • 3 people are ugly

  • this scene is the one scene that i always remember from this movie cuz it makes me tear up every time

  • I love how Clem is usually so impulsive and careless but this portrays a softer side of her that's vulnerable, the way only a lover can see you.

  • favorite scene

  • may i please ask if this is a name of a song its so calming and i dont want them talking in it... so anyone?

  • @codeman017 phone call

  • @codeman017 The song you're asking about is called, "Phone Call" by Jon Brion. I bought this soundtrack because it's amazing. Just do a search for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on Amazon and you can listen to it.

Although there were several music artists in the sound track, all original pieces made for the film itself were composed by Brion.

  • this is such a beautiful scene... the music is relxing and it seems so real.... I'm literally replaying this just to feel the feeling i'm feeling... :'(

  • This is absolutely the best scene in the movie! I get the feeling there's a little bit of the real Kate Winslet slipping out here. This movie's gotta be her finest hour!

  • There are some memories that are too Beautiful for words...

    this is one of them!

  • sounds like my life \,,/

  • on of the best scenes in this classic movie

  • this is the scene in the movie when i said "alright this is my favorite movie" i get her so well. this movie is the best thing ever.

  • @lunalovett FUUUCK YESS, you took the words right out of my brain.

  • WAaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!..adoro esta escena..ella es un sol :)

  • Just that JOEL didn't want to lose this memory- a memory that surely would have meant more for Clementine. That's love. Not wanting to part with the affirmation and adoration he gave her that she needed.

  • @Elfinesmom This comment makes me smile. :)

  • this is one of the only films that can make me cry like a little girl even though I've seen it before and I know what happens.

it's so beautiful and so heartbreaking

  • no one told you to watch this clip

  • gosh she is nothing near ugly

  • WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN THE WORLD! No.

  • @AntiSemiticJew1488 Whoa. Chill. People make mistakes.

  • best transition in a movie ever.

  • i love this part. there are some things you just dont want to erase. wonderful things :)

  • this scene is so perfect, it conveys so well the essence of intimacy and love between two people

  • this is not a cut-scene. this is a goddamn amazing scene.

  • This is the most perfect movie on Earth. So true, so touching! I love it =)

  • *_*

  • what's the track playing during this scene???

  • It's called "phone call" by jon brion. It was made for this movie

  • Well, actually it is a rendition of the same song earlier in the movie, "Phone Call", but this one is called "Joel's Tangerine".

You can find it on Jon Brion's online album "The Frozen Charles". It has all the songs in the movie that weren't featured on the soundtrack. :)

  • Thanks, now I have something to look for. I was wondering where I could get the rest of those songs.

  • No problem. But to be honest, I think you might be out of luck. Last time I checked Brion's website they remodeled and took down the freebies section. As far as I know they're not even SELLING it anywhere. I know this is impulsive (almost as a lark) but I suppose I could send you a copy of it if you're truly DYING to have it. :)

  • Thank you, I just tried looking for it and I couldn't find it. You know somebody online always tends to have something like that. Out of print albums are usually easy to find online even if they're just digital copies.

  • They are selling it on the soundtrack via iTunes and such! Haha.

I bought it, and most of the tracks are very haunting.
