this country needs healthcare reform. start with dentistry. it is not an exact science, unlike in europe and australia, so dentists can get away with anything, even murder.
I'm not sure what you're complaining about and what the dentist has to do with your problems. The fact that you state that you have a mouth full of temporary fillings shows that you never completed your dental treatment. My best advice is to go to a dental school where they have dentists and specialists in one building and are willing to take on very difficult cases.
@bbunster1 my case was moderate and the school in new jersey screwed up and got sued. i'll never go to any school again for anything. private dentists are more expensive but it's possible to find one who charges same or slightly more that the school. then you realize private is actually cheaper because the time you spend waiting to get an appointment, then overwhelmed overworked students try to plan your treatment by the books, then faculty who dont give a shit about anything...

There are always multiple treatment options in full-mouth cases. Extractions and full upper/lower dentures CAN be valid and is considerably cheaper than the full-fixed options you're discussing on here. Dentures give dentists a blank canvas to work with and would allow someone to work with you to re-establish your "bite". As undesirable as this may sound, medicaid pays for all of it and it should improve your occlusal disharmony and pain. Please consider it.

Susan... I know you are miserable. I live with the same bite and pain everyday. I'm sorry that you are feeling this way....but I doubt you will get help. I am 44 and watch in horror as my teeth and bite have changed my looks and my life. It is very debilitating to be in pain all the time. we have free dental care in the uk, or some just pay a small amount towards it, say £50 although there can be long waits, I had to wait 3 months after a botched wisdom tooth extraction-45 minutes of trying and broke toothy, I almost had a fit etc so had to wait for sedation dentist.
@MrFigpucker this is a bunch of bull shit, I'm not wealthy in the least bit, I'm a college student, and I have dental and health care. It's horrible what is happening to her but don't make it out like non one but millionaires can afford health insurance. My aunt lives in Scotland where there IS socialized medicine and they have turned her down for new dentures every time she asks, they cause her serious pain, I'd prefer to chose my doctor and head straight to a specialist if I need it.
When I lost my job, COBRA was around $700.00 a month. Needless to say, I did not get it because I could not afford it. When I was in college, I also had cheap affordable insurance through the college. Everyone has a different set of circumstances to deal with but if you don't have coverage through your employer then insurance is usually hundreds per month. I also would prefer to choose but I don't have that luxury. Later in life, you won't have the cheap options you have now

Yeah... I'm sure in your perfect little world, the only people who have dental problems are meth heads and alcoholics, right? I was in a car accident when I was in college and cracked every single tooth in my head, and even though I brush my teeth religiously, they are still rapidly decaying and falling out.

If you knew anything about the human body and bone structure (stuff you should have learned in grade school), you would know that the teeth support the jaw, which is the foundation of the face and the muscles therein, so naturally, without the teeth to support the bones and muscles covering them, they are going to droop and sag, causing wrinkles. Yes doctor is free in my country , you don't pay nothing , but come here and see our hospital , everything dirty , the big rats come , dirty sheet , ditry dish , and dentist not much better. Under this system doctor & dentist is poor people and they don't care if live or die because they get paid same ammount every month.

i know...yes a prostodontist..but i learned that it is just a fancy title that means nothing...mr gittleson was one of the best in the country and he understood the direction in which i neded to be rebuilt but due too the disease in his back which made his hands shack he could not take my case. i had the money to pay then too

Well that was a beautiful 10 minute speech about how you're ruined but still we dont know your problem or what you need. I don't mean to sound insensitave but if your mouth is in that bad a shape right now I only see one treatment alternitave for your problem , total extraction and denture replacement. Once your properly fittted with dentures your jaw and bite will re line properly taking the stress off your TMJ which is most likely where your pain is coming from.

george..i need people to come forthy and help....if there is any one who even has the floor space i ned a base. i cant pay them but i wont cost them anything..
as for fixing me..i need new temporaries rebuilt and then on going visits to be worked upon to rebuild my individual bite,maybe 3 sets of temporaries to work out the placement, size, shape, etc.....this would give me my function back and my face would go back to normal too.

@regalenter The same thing happened to me through SUNY Dental School. Dentistry is not held accountable. We need extreme make over or ethical, honest & caring dentist to put us back together again. We also need dentists ti be accountable for what they've done. They just toss you out and say You're no of any use to the students anymore. It's anightmare.
