Actually, this song doesn't belong to the Rolling Stones either. It belongs to the heirs of Robert Johnson. Keith Richards was always a huge Robert Johnson fan, but the Studio did not want to credit Johnson for his song. One of his heirs sued the Stones, and won in court.
Fuckin regardless of where it was at, this video singlehandedly proves without a doubt that the Rolling Stones are the hands down best rock band ever. Period. This shows what words can never explain. The ego with the chops to back that shit up. If Jagger could have did the show with his dick hanging out, you can bet your boots he fucking would have. The best.
face as you are stupid that there is at madison square garden then there comes to street fighting man ai goes to show in altamont for God's sake watch the dvd and then put the video ... bye this is that ... at Madison Square Garden who opens the show is Tina Turner and altamont is jefferson airplane and flying burrito brothers ok? I and this song is played at Madison Square Garden just notice the difference in clothing mick jagger and you realized
Yup, some of the beginning was Madison Square Garden. I may be wrong but I think this particular song was recorded in Baltimore Md. Same tour, but before the finale in California.
@tuskopotamus@tuskopotamus Yes it is concert at Altamont. And yes, it is earlier in movie, but whole movie is from Altamont concert, I don't get it where did you get those presumptions.
@tuskopotamus I know it was outdoor concert - and this song is performed outdoor. It's dark so you probably think it's in some club, but it's performed in ALTAMONT. Some parts of movie was from Madison Square Concert and studio at Muscle Shoals but this particular song IS FROM ALTAMONT. Google around if you don't believe me, or check out wiki page for facts about Gimme Shelter movie or Altamont Free concert. Check out song list they performed and you'll see.
@DzedajO The Album "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" was a live concert recorded at Madison square gardens. The version of Love In Vain that is in this video is on that album. All of the songs on that album we're recorded on November 27th and 28th of 1969 at Madison square gardens. Now the video could have been filmed at Altamont on December 6th of 1969 but it was not because at Altamont Mick was wearing a different outfit and he never changes outfits in his concerts.
@DzedajO Furthermore this video is a clip from the documentary Gimme Shelter if you had watched that you would see the other songs the band preformed at this concert where it is obviously indoors. I know its the same concert because they're wearing the same outfits. They all wore different outfits at Altamont...

For one, the concert at Altamont was an outdoor concert. And only the last part of the movie is the Altamont concert.
