Just like you should avoid mixing open flames with Gas and Oxygen, you should be cautious when interacting with known personality types that cause flare ups with you.
Learn to anticipate a potential problem before it even gets close to the point of anger... take that as a warning signal that this can potentially lead to disaster if I do not put some distance between myself and this person.
What I think is good, is the fact that you feel remorse after the scenario you describe.
This is a good thing as you are learning from your mistake.
As you mature (maturity is a life long endeavor) you will learn more how to deal with your anger. Depending on your personality type and the personality types of those you interact with, you will find that your blow-ups will depend directly upon that interaction.
Good question. I think a lot of this has to do with learned behavior on how to deal with stressful situations such as the scenario you described.
I have been in a place where I could have killed someone too, However that person was not within close vicinity lucky for them. I mostly would rather break inanimate objects then take it out on flesh and blood. this is not good either but at least it is better than physical violence.
wow i really appreciate all of your comments and advice. You couldn't be more right! I've only been taken "THERE" once and trust me...I won't be taken there again. I have learned (as u stated) to distance myself from those who my positive energy is allergic to. I know what people are worth it and those that aren't!
try practicing deep breathing and think of all the nice things in your life, such as...
Isn't it nice that my left arm is still attached to my body, or Wow I really am lucky to have all my fingers and toes. Life is wonderful.
Other than that, try looking up Terrence McKenna and listen to what he has to say about life.
