it started slow, meandered a bit, but episodes 7 and 8 were really good in many respects of plot and character development. Watching 9 later today. I think the series is going to have a satisfying payoff. True, it has been a big departure from its original style as a series, but it certainly has enough going for it to continue to further series.

I hope this wraps up this season well. God I hope this season doesn't kill Torchwood. I watched episode 9 and skipped episodes 7 and 8 and feel like I missed nothing at all of any consequence. This was a three parter at best dragged out three times to long.

@Fektthis i tend to agree that this could have been a lot like children of earth about 5 episodes 10 was to long many eps were filler. i pray that torchwood returns to the old concept stand alone episodes and just have a few episodes in one season be 2 partters but make monster of the week or mystery of the week eps

Meanwhile, Doctor Who started the River Song plotline in season 4, and we're still on that plotline in season 6.

@RoyalGuard503 lol, clearly you've not seen any posts i made on river song. i don't care for her. this need the modern writers seem to have that compels them to put the doctor into a romantic relationship is, how can I put this, lame. and this ultra fantastic super wonder woman known as river song? i can't wait until i never have to see her again. to be so great and full of charm i'm hard pressed to find one redeeming quality about her to make me even care.

@RoyalGuard503 no, i hate her for being a contrived human/time lord hybrid love interest of the doctor which is what they've been trying since the new series reboot started. i just don't care for the character in the least. they tried it with rose, they tried it with donna and now they're trying it to the 10th power with river song.

@anvilman2804 The future is never guaranteed, the Doctor says this often. He could very well die changing the events of every episode where we see the Face of Boe. But because I love Jack, I hope that doesn't happen!

looks pretty sick, I need this to be an amazing finale, not good, not great, amazing. The series as a whole as been a mixed bag with bad pacing and not enough tension in the right places, but if the finale is amazing that will make up for it I think
