@times9 - The eeepcs usually come with Xandros preinstalled (that's what was on mine). But I didn't want a stripped down OS, rather a full OS with everything I needed. Haven't decided about upgrading the RAM yet, will see how it works as is.
does it work with compiz fusion?

so you got the linux version of the asus then put on ubuntu.did you do a full install of ubuntu. will you pop on the 2gb ram.
