  • its not dat wc didnt wrk its dat bruce started jkd cus wc had 2 many fixed moves an his arsanal was limted wit jst dis one style...an there is actually wc in jkd 4 sum ppl who say dat theres nt but he jst took trapping moves 4rm wc dat actually wrk in put dem in jkd

  • We cannot say this or that. Bruce Lee was an extraordinary fighter and got a lot of natural talent. He was able to learn a move fast and doing it. Yip Man was a frail person but in my opinion with a lot of internal power as i could see on the old video when he was striking the dummy. I better watch the quality of both instead of thinking what's the supreme style. I respect both and i wish all martial artist will respect each other's without thinking who's the best.

  • becuz of bruce lee "slow motion" has been invented...

  • @torobaby1 there are high kicks ,too . didnt you see the ip man zero movie?

  • awesome !

  • Bruce Lee never didn't master bases Wing Chun, therefore wasn't better than master Ip Man.

  • Bruce Lee was very very much fast, but he never don't was better that master Ip Man.

  • @KeyMSimmons Lee's student glover went to Europe and schooled them like new born babies. No wing chun guy was going to beat Lee. When he went back to hong kong, they were all scared to even do chi sao.

  • @KeyMSimmons

bruce lee gave up on wing chun and came up with his own style for a reason.

that reason being that wing chun is far from a complete and realistic system.

bruce would make the best ever wing chun master look like a noob.

  • @SkemeKOS My understanding is that Lee became involved in the Hong Kong film industry and came back to visit IpMan. Bruce was only on the 2nd form of Wing Chun and wanted to learn the 3rd form but IpMan said he needed to stay a year and study. Bruce was making a lot of money at the time in the Kung Fu movies, and offered to buy his Sifu a house if he would teach him the entire remaining forms but IpMan said no... only if he stayed. Bruce left angry and he IpMan never spoke after that.

  • Ip Man would not teach Bruce when he discovered he was not pure Chinese. Many will deny this because Wing Chuns rise in popularity is primarily from trying to closely associate itself with Lee. When Lee used his WC in a fight he was dissapointed with its inneffectiveness and was very critical of WC refering to it as the 'classical mess' and looked to other styles thus JKD was born. In response to Lee's criticism of WC the WC commiunity says 'he didn't know the whole style'. Many will deny this.

  • @aldridge1

hmm what I heard from my sifu that is under yip chun.Bruce lee noticed it was ineffective at some point so when he went back to hk he wanted to learn the last form Biuzee from Ip man,to complete the whole WC system, but Ip man didnt wanna teach him as he know bruce was a kind of trouble maker, always go fight on streets and etc. He didnt quite like that.

that might also be a reason why he found his own way instead?(JKD)

just wanna share what ive heard and what I think, no offense.

  • @aldridge1

actaully most students get talked not by the master but by the second in command, bruce was talked WC but maybe not from IP man. not becos hes wasnt pure chinese, if he didnt want bruce to learn he would have easily stopped the others from teaching bruce.

  • @KeyMSimmons

There are 3 open hand forms in wing Chun and 2 with weapons that is 5 altogether so get your facts straight before you post goddammit

  • @KeyMSimmons Respect the classic arts asshole. It's not a matter of who is better than who.

  • @KeyMSimmons bruce lee stopped doing wing chun coz the arts footwork is limited to low kicking

  • @KeyMSimmons

arent there only 3 forms? excluding dummyform. siu nim tao, chum kiu and biutjee.

just curious what the 4th is that you say?

  • @KeyMSimmons Bruce Lee studied boxing and other arts that developed his skills. Just because other people finished the other forms of Wing Chun, you are all knowingly predicting he would get shredded..... And what, you met every single figthter when he was around to determine he wasnt the best? You sound like a total douche. He was considered the best because of the skill he showed, and the fights he never lost, even in his younger brief boxing career.

  • @KeyMSimmons Bruce Lee was a great Martial Artist who had great phylosophies about fighting. Meaning not lying to yourself. Now you are talking about Wing Chun. Bruce Lee didnt believe that Wing Chun was all that, thats why he started JKD and at the end there was almost NO wing chun left in his system. People dont wanna know this but its true. About Wing Chun. Even if it had 20 different forms, the style/trapping aint realistic, meaning lying to yourself.

  • @KeyMSimmons maybe not the best fighter in the world, that wasnt proven, but definitely the finest martial artist of his time. important distinction between martial artist and fighter

  • @KeyMSimmons

Umm... there are actually 6 WING CHUN (not weng chun) forms.

    3 open handed forms

2 weapon forms (one with stave, other with knives)

    and 1 dummy form.

Bruce Lee is a prime example of what wing chun kung fu is ment to be capable of. And i could say that Bruce Lee is infact the best fighter of the modern world. If he was alive today he would still be the best standing fighter.

  • @KeyMSimmons wing is just wing chun, bruce was more deadly cos he was a more rounded fighter, bruce would get beat if he just used WC but if he was fighting to the death he would use everything he knew and beat those WC guys with his all round game.

  • @KeyMSimmons wing chun is a great martial art ,but Lee actually used boxing footwork and wasnt limited. I think he could be just about any wing chun guy easily.

  • @WorldMilitia wat?? he doesn't have any boxing backround wat so ever....he has his own kung fu jeet kune do foot work...every art has its own realluy good foot work. he has fought in boxing using his wing chun techniques and beat the champ...lol..he has fought karate fighters, teakwondo guys, and muaythia fighters too. he's a legend.

  • What does Taekwondo have to do with Weng Chun? Weng Chun is the best martial arts possible. It's all about countering your opponent when he strikes or before he strikes. I wanna study Weng Chun bad. We have people that teach it but its a 150 bucks a month.

  • @KeyMSimmons

take mma classes instead. theyre more effective all around.

wing chun is great but its only good for little aspects of fighting.

  • @KeyMSimmons You'd like something like kempo bushido ryu

  • Very good example of the one inch punch. Does not pull his hand back when he does the punch.

  • CLEAN, BEST HUMAN HANDS DOWN
