  • buenisima banda!!!!!

  • These guys wanna be prog, but they're just gay.

  • @MIKEPEARTNOY Even Dream Theater thinks you are a pretentious dick. Also Mike Portnoy like TMV. Nice try troll.

  • @DandelionVolta

    "Every Dream Theater"

    Implying there's more than one?

  • @MIKEPEARTNOY I said "even" haha.

  • @DandelionVolta You should have pointed out that I forgot a "s".

  • @MIKEPEARTNOY Dude you listen to Dream Theater and you're calling The Mars Volta gay? Have you fucking read DT's lyrics?

  • sometimes cedric has a bad day playing live, but this is definetly one of his good ones...wonderful, like on the album

  • Saw these guys in Orlando in '08, it was the greatest concert I've been to. This cat hit every single note perfectly

  • QUE LINDO TEMA PERO ME DA GRACIA LAS PELUCAS QUE TENIAN JA JA..

  • tmv los amoooooo

  • Wait... how does his work, a song that has 2 parts? (sorry for my ignorance, have been introduced to this band today)

  • @Pedrorunescape1 good bands can do that, such as TOOL (Wings for Marie)-(Wings for Marie pt.2 ;10,000 Days)

  • amazing performance.

  • Omar's pedal setup looks hilariously confusing as shit

  • i think that the bass line from the deloused album was composed by Flea. Heard that

  • @caosemordem The Mars Volta had no official bassist during the recording session, but Flea (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) played bass on nine of the album's ten songs, with Justin Meldal-Johnsen playing double bass on "Televators." Flea's bandmate John Frusciante also contributed additional guitar, synthesizer and backing vocals to "Cicatriz ESP".

  • @BobDoleNSatanRmyniGz thats really cool info, man. thanks

  • @BobDoleNSatanRmyniGz thats really cool info, man. thanks

  • Something about the short improv just makes every part of your being vibrate from the inside out. (6:46) "Do you remember my name... Did you remember my name...?"

  • does anyone else love it when cedric says" thank you" in the funy lsd trip voice? " thank you"

  • @cannabisdeathmorbs lol i do

i didnt know that was an lsd trip voice, but im not surprised he was on lsd in this show

  • Our generations Page and Plant ...

    yup

  • kickass perfomance!

  • i've defected

  • Drummer is sweating buckets.

  • @tixer4 you would be too if you had to play drums for the mars volta.

  • i must b sincerely retarded for never attending one of their shows.

  • @rocknrollkid185 yeah you better get on that before it is to late. I have seen them 3 times and I can say first hand that it is one of the most amazing shows you will see.

  • @TouchFasterImaging i cant seem to find any tours.

  • @rocknrollkid185 I hear ya. They usually only tour to support the albums so you will most likely have to wait till the next one drops. When that happens, don't miss it.

  • @TouchFasterImaging let me kno man, i live under a rock when it comes to media.

  • the way that the guitarist plays is sick

  • Best intro to a song ive heard in a loooooong time

  • I love how happy the keyboard player always looks when he's playing. Its that sort of passion that is missing from most modern music.

  • @AEnima461 well, i attendeded a show with a perfect circle but got there too late and only got to see apc. i missed the mars volta. damn crackhead friends and their crack smoking ways. i saw a complete show at the greek theatre though. cedric sounded like an eagle and i was high on co co cocaine

  • @cannabisdeathmorbs no one cares

  • Fantastic sound...

  • great shit gyus!

  • Juan Alderete is a fuckn bass god!! Im not worthy, im not worthy :-)

  • Comment removed

  • This is a musical ejaculation

  • @mediumphill Eargasm

  • Juan Alderte (bass) is a fucking machine. He's like John Paul Jones (Zeppelin) on fuckin cocaine and with lots of effect pedals.

  • Brilliant, i was there! First time i saw them.

  • 2:15 is just baller

  • @stevieb89 Friggin ridiculous bro...Ridiculous.

  • best band of this generation

  • @nestr0n13 You should check out porcupine tree when they go on tour anonther great band they are great live and very underrated and i cannot wait to see the mars volta in copncert when they come.

  • @nestr0n13 best band ever

  • I forgot how much I like this song. This video reminded me.

  • @reefergoat i also remembered how much i love afros

  • what kind of guitar does he use?

  • @Gisele11 His 1st signature model based of an ibanez axs32.

  • @Gisele11

    ibanez omr

  • 4:48. What the... that's amazing

  • Sick drummer.

  • 2:20 epic face

  • Im not to sure but i believe the bassist played with Paul Gilbert. He is actually quite talented.

  • He was/is with Gilbert in Racer X. They were pretty over-the-top. He's still doing stuff with them. He's 46 and has been around the scene for over 25 years.

  • yeah he was in Racer X man.

  • this song is the BEST when youre high

  • everything is best while high

  • Comment removed

  • and when you aren't !!!

  • TRUE that man

  • Chingonsisimo!

  • the guys got thee most underated bassist of all time

  • @beatofthestreets So true. I saw him play with a broken hand last October. He even did a solo at the show after Cedric talked to the crowd about his hand.

  • @beatofthestreets

Funnily enough, playing the bass recorded by the most overrated bassist of all time!

  • @beatofthestreets best bassist!

  • @beatofthestreets flea from RHCP originally recorded the bass for this song

  • 5:56 he lloks like slash

    pause it

  • Comment removed

  • Haha if you pause it at 2:17 it looks like Omar is strangling himself with the guitar strap :P

  • it's a trick, connar

  • still scalping this ticketless applause...

  • Omar = Total freakin rock star at 2:15 :)

  • i wanna see them live so bad but they never come around and it makes me sad all day

  • K chido omar y cedric aaaaahhhhh¡¡¡ son lo maximo seee¡¡

  • so sick, love how they improvise always in between songs. Makes their concerts so intense!

  • crazy live!

  • going to see them at congress theatre in chicago on sept.11th. should be a great show.

  • one of my favourites of them, amazing live

  • yeah! go chi tocwn! i saw them when they came out with system of a down

  • holy fuck that would have been amazing!!

  • Great band! I wish I could be at that show...

  • So energetic,so incredible.

  • im massively with you at that one man, in my opinion theodore is the best drummer alive. thomas pridjin is mega tallented but he just hasnt got the creativity that theodore has, i dont enjoy the volta half as much since he left

  • lets not. I miss Jon just as much as the next person but he left for a reason. They even said in interviews that they see each other/talk on occasion and the relationship between them is just akward and unpleasant.

  • they said he was a whiny bitch

  • let it go bud

  • Tava demorando aparecer uma banda assim...

    mto boa

  • JON MOTHERFUCKING THEODORE RECONIZE

  • lol.

  • @Fittygitty One of the best drummers I've ever seen.

  • @Fittygitty yes! Jon Theodore was the greatest.

  • Drugs, oh my.

  • this has always been my favorite song of theirs

  • this is straight up amazing idc what anyone says

  • this is early volta, when his live voices sucked. this is actually a pretty good vocal performance by cedric although i know exactly what you mean about the cat being dragged.

go watch the "abortion, the other white meat" or "mars volta lowlands" videos. his voice is really good in those.

  • are you kidding. I think his voice is not as good as it was back then. I loved seeing his older performances way more. i do agree "lowlands" was badass

  • I wish I could have Cedric hair.... Ha... It's so awesome.

  • Deloused is by far there best album. Fuckin changed my life

  • hard to say, its the album i listened to most when i first got into the volta, its obvi. the rockiest, but i looove all the others in completely different ways too.

  • fuck you icirum

    hayden i completely agree brother

  • ...heroin induced creativity...;-)

  • + large doses of lesergic acid dythylomide

  • not to be one of those grammar nazis...

but you mean 'lysergic acid diethylamide'

and yea i just kno that..lol

  • u grammar nazi!!

    lolz :P

  • lol, yeah. this is their best album. didn't they stop doing heroin after this cause of ward or whatever? just saying, all sorts of intense. not that their others aren't amazing, but still. DELOUSED. the end

  • Yeah they stop doing drugs cause Ward died

If i remeber correctly either Ineratic ESP or The Widow is dedicated to him

  • cob sucks man, flame me.

    tmv are awesome..

  • i feel bad for whoever has to untangle their chords after a show

  • Love TMV to death, i could listen to them all day. Was going to get TMW lyrics froom this song but i god COB instead ^^.

  • Ohh sorry lol dumb friend told me him died. well iam happy cuz this guys make some good songs. :D

That does come outta my mouth now a days that much.

  • you make music omar. you make..

  • met 2 members from the mars volta aldetete nad pridgen! :D and met omars brother marcel, at an "omar rodriguez lopez group" gig in london a few weeks back, got pictures with them to, and omars plectrum! awesome night!

  • juan isnt in this enough, he's an amzing bassist

  • Best Cicatriz ESP ever heard.

Omar gives the most intense echo psychedelic effect of the history.

Cedric vocals peel off the skin.

  • heres a fan

  • does anybody know how did the leader sing died?

  • he dident die....lol

he will be at bonaroo sometime between june 11th-15th

  • C'mon!

    He is absolutely alive!

  • maybe you mean his friend that died by drug overdose.

  • 2:17

  • look at all these stupid people that cant even spell realize

  • I love Haruspex so much :) It let us enter the song and after they're starting with Cicatriz... awesome.

Almost better than the transition Son Et Lumière/Inertiatic ESP :)

  • What's Haruspex? a part of the song?

  • the live intro of cicatriz.

  • Yeah that's it! You should listen to Scabdates btw

  • escelente video

  • this performance is great! i didnt reolize it till just now!

  • dude anything volta does is godly, ANYTHING

  • word.

  • doble word

  • they are playing bonnaroo

  • absolutely fantastic.

  • What guitar is Omar using? And does anyone know if they are going to tour some more?

  • He uses an Ibanez AX 120, no idea about touring though.

  • Now in tour he uses his Ibanez Jet King signature guitar

  • Yea, but the old AX is so much cooler.. Still its got a cool look to it, very Jag like. Omar can make any guitar sound killer though.

  • yeah it's true. Virtuosity is not only defined by the one who can play very good, in this case is also defined by the one who can get otherworldly tones with all the fx he can get.. and that's cool

  • Yea but its way more than just virtuosity, tones and effects. The music he writes should be whats important right, and what theyre (omar particularly) writing is something very different. Tones and Effects are like the icing on the cake, take it all away and thats still one delicious cake.

  • haha i love how EVERYONE'S nodding their heads at 1:38

this is such a groovy song...gotta love TMV

  • yeaa that is dopee but i would prolly be the onlyy one danciin nobody dances to TMV and thats wat they liike to see at concerts not juss ppl standiin there lookin up at them watchiin them have all the funn thats why they put so much energy into their shows cuz they wanna see people dance...

nevertheless still a great performance i miss the old mars volta even tho the new is pretty koo :)

  • i danced like a fool both times i saw them. some other people did too. but us white people tend to either bob our heads or jump around. no middle ground

  • Juan Alderete y a metronome!!!!! awesome, i miss Theodore in the band, they are the best.

  • Juan is an amazing bass player !! one of my favorites,it's good that you notice his abilities. Juan <3

  • hear him on racer x, hes a beast

  • I just love it from 2:07 to 2:30!!

  • lol the synchro headbanging at 1:38

  • THIS IS MY EFFING FAVORITE SONG BY M.V.

  • psychedelic rock ;)

  • I love the noise cedric makes right at the beginning... "wakow"

  • i think he's saying thank you wicked fast in a goofy voice, lol but i like you thinking haha

  • Enjoy The Mars Volta

  • They're more like King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra and At The Drive-In mixed together

  • King Crimson...I can't see that.

    Dont know Mahavishnu Orchestra...

At The Drive in fits BECAUSE IT IS CEDRIC AND OMAR PRE-TMV...

  • Oh really? No Shit!

    Thanks for the insightful comment.
