  • ass

  • NO, IT'S DUMB ASS

  • right on the nose :)

  • lol no budget and no creativity... what was the point? When was this made? It looks like an early 90's soap lol

  • this was made in the late 70s when cat stevens was all the rage and i thought id capitalize on that fact by shooting a pilot that was suppose to air on abc before it was bumped by all in the family, i think they made the right choice

  • wow the 70s? Crazy stuff!

  • wtf! don't go on american idol

  • Great

  • CRAP

  • finally, an honest opinion

  • that was brilliant.. few dodgy haircuts but very good :D

  • best comment yet, thank you!

  • loved it, the end was brilliant

  • I liked the film...Have no idea what it was about, but its was good! Keep up the good work

  • hey, thanks

  • Great video.

  • Not the greatest singer XD But the concept of the video was brilliant. Loved it ;'D

  • BTW are you actually blind ^^ guess not, need brail keys on keyboard XD

  • thank u! no, im not blind, but looking at the edit job i might as well be :P

  • it was a very good vid, for, is it 4 days altogether it took? make more please :)

  • how long it take you to film/edit??

  • two days to film, two days to edit,we worked non-stop however

  • cool, good luck with that!

  • I'm a student writing, currently writing my own short film - a rom-com chessy and all LOL - and I just want to say that I loved your piece, such a simply idea but its was fanatasic. keep it up.

    xxx

  • and I won't make it as I clearly can't write a sentence LOL :P

    xx

  • I liked the hell out of it. I'm no film major, but I thought the piece itself from a layman's perspective was great.

I loved the end. I thought the guy was going to realize that he had it alot better than he knew and was going to sing it with much more heart, thus pleasing the blind guy. Instead, you played the actual Cat Stevens version and it seemed to me that it was for the benefit of the guy who could see, and not for the blind guy.

  • thanks buddy!

  • Try doing it on key, yeah?

  • got it boss

  • nice concept and good acting. directorial skills need impriving but it was definitely a good watch. well done

  • thanks for watching my little project. ps, thanx for defending me, but i think estopa does have a point, a blind person can face in the direction of a person's voice!

  • ha ha ha thats the last time i'm supportin u!

  • get a book on film language. On frame 50 both guys seem to be facing the lower left(are they looking at the same thing?), then one gets up and we see that they were facing eachother = bad.

Also the change of light, frame 52 looks bright, and then 55 looks like u used some kind of dark filter. NOw offcourse the story is the most important, but if you are looking to put this on your resume reel, those little holes in you film will show you are an amateur.

  • well one of them is blind so ur not much of an expert yourself.

  • hahahaha

  • the cameraman does a terrible job(film language) the sound could have been better... The acting is actually very good, natural, better than most nyu thesis films. congrats

  • thanks man for the comment! is there any specific thing wrong with the way it was shot? I'm a complete newbie when it comes to framing shots and editing...I'm also glad to hear that the acting isn't cringe worthy

  • off-key, frequently. Unless you have a very large range and can sing several octaves, this song can't work. Few novices can attempt it, myself included, though I'd love to sing this right.

  • well not to be defensive, i wasn't trying to sing the song perfectly or really to sing to entertain, the song is part of the narrative, that's all

  • OK, I just never know what *kind* of feedback people want. some, quite seriously plan to sign with a record label, whereas others want to preserve a moment in time, like Grandma with a slide show after summer vacation or whatever. No hard feelings? I was honest, but could have been smoother in saying what I thought.

  • no problem, i just wanted to clarify my intent for this movie, i kinda thought that u think that this was some kind of music video

  • no problem! This is my fav. song from Cat! What I can't handle is all the people coming to Bash a singer for his lifestyle--and doing it with curse words and ignorance!!! That isn't impressive to me. Thanks for understanding that I just thought a couple of times, just for a moment, the singer didn't reach the perfect key (like playing one bad note on an instrument) and so it showed. Peace!

  • Cool movie man great idea, im no big media buff but it was a pretty good storyline with some cool shots and angles, dialogue was pretty good the acting just seemed a bit forced not very natural and the plot needs a bit of polishing man but that was choice for a short film, what resources were ya workin with?

a college film or somethin? or just personal?

  • Thanks for the comment, and I mean it. We had two VHS-C cameras and two tripods which made dialogue a lot easier. The mics we use are the two cameras' and I used Adobe Premiere to edit. Beyond that, there's not much else we have. As far as the reason for making it, it was the tail end of the summer and my friend and I were bored so we made a little film.

  • Kinda strange, but I liked it.

Tea for the Tillerman Ref. was beyond random(very cool). Anyway keep 'em coming.

XTRA points for another Cat Stevens song.

I dare ya'!!! OK you had no budget but there was a modicum of creativity so you may want to change your title.
