My problem with the IPC 498A is that it does not protect the man if the woman had lied about the D/V. IPC 498A is fair if the case is genuine. But to say the case is genuine just because a woman complains is unfair. The case has to be investigated to see if its genuine. The law has to work and be fair for both sides. To say that a woman complaining of D/V is always right and to assume that the husband has committed the D/V before a proper investigation and to charge him would be wrong.

My problem with the IPC 498A is that it does not protect the man if the woman had lied about the D/V. IPC 498A is fair if the case is genuine. But to say the case is genuine just because a woman complains is unfair. The case has to be investigated to see if its genuine. The law has to work and be fair for both sides. To say that a woman complaining of D/V is always right and to assume that the husband has committed the D/V before a proper investigation and to charge him would be wrong.

1). Husband is punished BEFORE found guilty. He and his family including females were hauled to police station on Friday(coz courts are closed on weekend, so exert psychological terror on them and try to make them "settle" out of court). What is settlement about? Once the hubby and family paid extortion money to such scoundrels like pynchme below, they will be let go. In that case, no invstigation. Money will be shared by likes of pynchme's family, cops and judge.
