I had been going on and on about the (ugly) Betties. I thought they were hideous from photos and videos! They do look much better "in the flesh!" Not sure why, but let me know what you think when you eventually get to see one.

yeah there are 30 i think it is all together they have ordered. i keep an eye on the freightliner site all the time:P am one of the few who likes them:D i like a change sometimes:P

Sorry to get you excited - I'm waiting for one to go north! LOL! There was a balance working to this one on the 4th December - left Felixstowe at gone two o'clock, so it must have come through Northampton in the dark!

Very nicely filmed with great stills. I've yet to see any of the class working liner trains. The engine seems to sound similar to an electric loco at speed !

Thanks! Yes, I would like to see one going up the grade rather than just rolling down - Northampton is built in a natural bowl - trains to both the north and the south leave uphill! Similar to 90's and 86's but 92's rolling down hill make much more noise! - Mike

Thanks Wayne - I would imagine that some viewers will switch off thinking that the music overrides the engine note. The wind was so bad that my first video had the sound turned off at the time the music cuts in - I just didn't like it. Normally I don't video in such windy conditions but I heard that 70001 was making it's first run through Northampton so I thought I'd give it a go! - Mike
