  • My 3 year old is this way. He can read words and spells things out of our magnets on the fridge-mostly things like Toy Story 3 or THX, or other things that he gets from watching his favorite movies. I don't know how much comprehension he has, and his language skills are pretty delayed- although they have been improving greatly since I put him in Head Start and he has been receiving speech therapy and other therapies that they are giving him as if he was officially diagnosed with autism.

  • Lol. Can I play

  • This reminds me so much of driving down the road when my son was 5 and he totally caught me off guard by reading a "Starbuck's" sign outloud. He read it so casually it was as if he'd always known how. While other kids were learning to read words like "push, pull, stop" he was effortlessly reading much larger, much more complex words. In grade 3, he was considered to be reading at a grade 6 level.

  • I have a daughter w/autism . I can relate. Angela

  • That is so awesome! Best of luck to you.

  • thanks!
