Hey i'm lookin for a good guitar but dont have a lot of money. I'm in a band and the sound i'm lookin for is that 90s SoCal pop punk kind of sound, like blink 182. i know tom used a fender strat. could i get the same sound with a fender spuier model?
@NfamousShirley1 3 is the amp you use again hundreds of brands and types to choose from and if you use pedals that will again change ur sound. A squire will be a step in the right direction is thats the sound u want but you must consider the other 3. for example someone can take this squire and make it sound heavy metal if they wanted.

@aoverheid1995 thats just the cheaply made squier pickups. you can replace them with standard fender pickups witch don't cost to much. just replace the pickups and maybe the nobs(or neck altogether) and it'll be just as good as a 1500$ Fender American Deluxe.
just gunna put my opinion out there i picked one of these up a few years ago for 200$ they're a great guitar to learn on but if u plan on playing anything on the rock and metal end of the charts forget this guitar. quite a good guitar to play for the cost though, guided me through my first 2 years of guitar playing with no problems. to be honest i regret not just skipping the steping stone and picking up a higher end guitar such as an ibanez or esp/ltd
Is it true that the Squire are really more for begginers?

@100Underworld100 They're mainly used by beginners because they're so cheap compared to other competitors, that way if you end up hating playing guitar you're not too out of pocket

@Hippyslob i live in newfoundland and newfoundlanders dont talk like that. most newfoundlanders don't talk with a "bayman's accent" which would sound sort of like a harsh irish/inglish tone but using words like b'y and skipper and generaly speaking very quick. the older newfoundlanders commonly talk like this depending where on the island they are from. kids use the accent to look cool.

@erikentenfresse i do think it's better, i got a good epiphone, and i had a very low-end squier... and, a MUCH better amp, so naturally, the epiphone will always sound better, because of the amp ;) but the squier was fine :)

I have a strat and after 1 year its impossible to tune it, you tune it perfectly then you check the tuning again and its dropped. Great beginners guitar but not that quality, maybe its only my guitar, But tese are definitely better than epiphones
Bought one about 3 months ago, just to start playing electric (been playing acoustic for about a year now). I like it a lot, but obviously it's a value guitar so I'm always drooling over the more professional models and chomping on the bit to upgrade. Just like he said, good guitar for the money.

If you've modified the guitar, how can you give a review of the Fender Squier Strat? You really can only offer a review of the guitar as you've modified it. Not everybody's going to be looking for, or playing, the same modified guitar. Right?
The headstock and body of your Squier look larger than my '87 M.I.J. Squier, but it sounds similar to yours. The Start style is very versatile for sound selections, and the neck is comfortable.
@ogbgang lol i got one of these for £125 with all the trimmings. i.e. amp, case, strap, tools. but the strings they come in are shit. it is impossible to drop tune anywhere below d. i replaced them with ernie balls super slinky strings, they sound much better.

For 500 bucks schecter Damien elite great value for me. Shecter has some nice guiatr with sd that sound really good IMO I do t red a strat though ha but everyone has there own taste

bullshit. fenders are a horrible value. for 1200 bucks i could buy an high end ibanez which beats anything fender has ever put out. squiers on the other hand are a splendid value. for 220 bucks you get a better guitar than the mexican made fender
@ReTr093 You've obviously never owned an American Standard Strat. The $500-1000 MIM Strats really aren't put together so well but MIA strats are an unbeatable classic that Ibanez will never achieve.
i played enough to know that they're nothing special. they don't have any classic tone to them. apart from the shitty trebly sound they all have. fender is all about the name and quality control. and i own an j prestige ibanez, an esp eclipse II and a gibson les paul standard. i don't need a fender

The headstock and body of your Squier look larger than my '87 M.I.J. Squier, but it sounds similar to yours. The Start style is very versatile for sound selections, and the neck is comfortable.

@ogbgang lol i got one of these for £125 with all the trimmings. i.e. amp, case, strap, tools. but the strings they come in are shit. it is impossible to drop tune anywhere below d. i replaced them with ernie balls super slinky strings, they sound much better.

For 500 bucks schecter Damien elite great value for me. Shecter has some nice guiatr with sd that sound really good IMO I do t red a strat though ha but everyone has there own taste

Hey JAMMAN1701... All the Squiers are made of Agathis right? Is that actually bad? I want to buy my first electric and I'm confused between a Greg Bennett AV3 made from mahogany and a Squier made from Agathis. The Squier kinda sounded better though :P

That said, some guitars can be put together better, they can be built to last longer or look nicer but they are never ''Better". Learn a little somethin' about guitars before you start accusin' somebody of knowin' nothing.

bullshit. fenders are a horrible value. for 1200 bucks i could buy an high end ibanez which beats anything fender has ever put out. squiers on the other hand are a splendid value. for 220 bucks you get a better guitar than the mexican made fender

@ReTr093 You've obviously never owned an American Standard Strat. The $500-1000 MIM Strats really aren't put together so well but MIA strats are an unbeatable classic that Ibanez will never achieve.
BTW Squier is MIM.

i played enough to know that they're nothing special. they don't have any classic tone to them. apart from the shitty trebly sound they all have. fender is all about the name and quality control. and i own an j prestige ibanez, an esp eclipse II and a gibson les paul standard. i don't need a fender
