  • you can actually see the bullest flying

  • nice rifle!! i love those rifles

  • The M1 has been on my list of to-buys for almost 5 years and it was just this year that I finally decided to acquire one - an M2 Carbine actually. The price seems to have doubled in the last 5 years so decided I must get one now. Truly a must-have for collectors and shooters alike.

  • Dude, i really like how you give detailed descriptions of everything.

  • So so many ppl made parts for that gun it was unreal

  • M1 Carbine - love to take new shooters to range with M1 - easy to shoot, easy to hit offhand up to 25 yards - do 50 yards with support. New shooters, especially women have great fun with it. Tula ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt, Texas $12/box of 50. Lite mist of WD40 in action first and no jams. Great defense gun with CTD 30 carb SP ammo $24/box of 50 no jams straight up. 2" groups at 50 yards easy with both ammo. Lovely young ladies are very well armed and deadly with M1 carbine.

  • I always wanted one of those M1 carbines. great shooting nice video..

  • i dunno bout you guys, but my head is not a foot wide.

  • @Hunter57dor

You should see some of the gangbangers in South Nashville.

  • Thats a cool little gun...

  • I do some handy man work for a doctor he has one of these in his closet for the last 40 years or so and has not fired it in as many years, Ive been buging him for it, it just sits there its killing me!!!!

  • Pretty good for a peep sighted rifle at range

  • How much were you holding over to account for the round's drop at that range?

  • @salif08 He just had the elevation adjusted to the range. Rifles are good like that

  • Must say I seen your videos and you have a touch for filming.

  • I like the 2 camera view. I need to get some steel :-)

  • Great video. Any tips on buying a used m1 carbine? Any way to tell whether or not the barrel is still good? Thanks.

  • @46spoony

Just take a good LED and look down the barrel. After you confirm the gun is not loaded, of course. I saw an IBM 1943 at a gun show yesterday. Although I did not check the barrel, the stock and external metal parts where as good as condition as this Inland. They were asking $975; I paid somewhat less for mine in 2011.

  • nice shooting considering the conditions.!!!

  • Excellent shooting!! As far as I know, almost all M1 Carbines were assembled from parts made around the country. Now I'm positive I need one of these!

  • This gun has been on my short list for years. I mean years but it always seems to get leapfroged by something else. After seeing this maybe it's time.

  • @RagnarOdinsson

Do it before it's too late. Everytime I visit a gun shop I look for one. If I find another in good condition and for the right price, it's bought.

  • @tnoutdoors9 Roger that.

  • my dad has a couple gm models

  • 4:12 bullet visible!!! very nice

  • Nice video. Makes me think I better put the scope back on my M1 carbine and try some longer shots. Regards,....

  • Wonderful video. I love the plate shooting part.

  • dude, when you were shooting the plates, i could SEE the bullet actually flying. not the trail, the BULLET

  • actually the m1 was used after the korean war into vietnam (i saw a vid with a soldier in nam holding 1)

  • does anyone think he sounds like Owen Wilson? or is it just me

  • Should I get the carbine or the garand first?

  • nice shooting!

    subscribed :]

  • kind of ontopic: I'm looking to buy a steel target from "Action Target" by the end of the month(I hope!) I see your shooting an AR500 steel target with this. I was looking into getting the stronger AR550 for rifle shooting as well as pistol. How are you liking the 500 for rifle rounds? It's an extra $20-30 for the upgrade

  • i love the crack sound effect of this gun

  • @Zaven297 Isn’t the ‘crack’ sound produced by the bullet, not the gun.

  • @DotsOnALine thats what i meant soz

  • HAHA in the 12" plate shooting you can see the bullets!

  • Open sights, that's how its done.

  • man i wish i could get one of those adjustible rear open sight like that for my mini-14

  • cool cam shots, you can see the bullet!

    great videos!

  • Great weapon,not enough credit..Great vid BTW!!

  • 10/22 on steroids

  • 3:51 on you can see the bullets in flight... pretty cool!

  • Good shooting i can't even see that far.

  • Great vid TN

  • This is a GREAT video man! What gun (person) doesn't love the M1 carbine? I owned one, but like a retard I sold it and have hated myself for doing so. They are such a great gun and so FUN to shoot! Your camera work and dang! Your marksmanship was awsome! And actually seeing the rounds in the air impacting the targets was a thrill to watch. Thanks for an outstanding video that will now be a part of my favorites list!

  • Fantastic vid and fantastic shooting! I "knew" you could do it!

    Thats's a beauty of an M1 Carbine...just gorgeous.

Thanks for all of your vids, I really enjou them.

  • Actually able to see the lead fly! Great as always!

  • Nice shootin', can you get Hicock45 to get a camera like yours? 1080p sure looks nice.

  • Now that is one very nice rifle. You did some very fine shooting and the slow motion was so very cool for you could see the bullet impact. I am going to put on an M1 Carbine on my wish/bucket list. Hope to see you shooting more of the M1 carbine. Such a very cool looking rifle.

  • Great shooting!

  • @MrUnworthyOne I'd have to see it LIVE to believe it.

  • Thats cool how u can see the round flying to the target

  • You should get an ak one of these days, kool vid, I love WWII guns.

  • is this the rifle where the magazines would fly out with a cha-ching noise basically giving your position away

  • @peptopro17

No, that was the .30-06 M1 Garand "en bloc" clip/magazine.

  • @tnoutdoors9 do you own an m1 garand? im gonna check right now!

  • @peptopro17 My dad fought in WW II. He said they would bounce an empty clip off the end of their rifles. This made the same "ting" sound as an empty Garand made. The Germans soldiers would take this opportunity to launch an assault believing that our soldiers were reloading and they'd scramble out of their foxholes into a barrage of fully loaded Garands. He said after awhile the Germans didn't trust that the "ting" meant our soldiers were out of ammo.

  • @peptopro17 umm i think the gun shots will give your position away more...

  • @peptopro17 you could hear that noise only if you were fighting in a city...in nature with all that mg's shooting this would bethe last thing you would hear

  • @peptopro17 If your shooting at someone, you already GAVE your position away!!! hehehehehe

  • @peptopro17 I think a .30-06 going off would be more likely to give away your position than the ping of an empty clip being ejected. Just sayin...

  • @MrShawn305 um i guess you dont understand. When the enemy is waiting to rush you on the other side of the trenches, your ping of an empty magazine sort of lets them know you dont have any rounds ready to fire at them.

  • @peptopro17 I thought the ping from the m1 garand firing its last shot was the sound the en bloc clip makes when it falls on stone or concrete.

  • @FlakeTillman the ping is from the en bloc clip being ejected. Soldiers learned to mimic that sound by taking the clip, squeezing it and then letting it go.

  • @peptopro17 true but the noise is only made from the magazine hitting stone or concrete so soldiers would often throw empty magazines around in order to coax the enemy into coming out of cover

  • @MrShawn305 you are confusing the M1 Carbine with and M1 Garand. the Carbine fires a pistol cartridge round and the Garand fires a true rifle round. It is not too hard to google 30-06 and/or .30 Carbine.

  • @MrShawn305 thats true but if they herd the ping they knew you were out of ammo and reloading

  • @peptopro17 your an idiot if you think this is a m1 Garand.

  • @peptopro17 no that was the M1 garand which was a 30-06 cal it was a cannon! and soldiars would get around that disadvantage by throwing an empty mag. on a rock to make that cha-ching noise and wait for the enemies heads to pop up from behind cover

  • Very low power at that range, interesting stuff and thanks for your uploads!

  • Thanks for this video. I really like this old carbine so it was a fun video to watch as are your others. Subscribed!

  • Yup, I can see the bullets as they fly to the targets. .30 carbine loses a lot of speed and kinetic energy over longer distance. Still it's on my list of future gun purchases.

  • I have a '43 Underwood we need to get them together sometime.

"decades old tech & eyesight" are still working pretty good : )

  • Cow number 19 doesn't give a fuck.

  • @Anonofwales ... honey cow?

  • tht is sweet that i can see the bullet

  • what kind of ghost ring sight is that? its gorgeous!

  • Nice shootin!

  • @MrUnworthyOne lol! I have never tried that. But I have shot deer that ran off, shot at old motorcycle helmets just to see the bullets bounce off. I mean all this at close range. So for Me I wouldnt trust this much for anything that close quarters combat. Not long range shooting.

  • that looks like a great riflex thanks for sharing

  • this gun is useless @ those ranges.

  • i almost bought this rifle once

  • Sweet rifle man love the vids keep them coming.

  • One of the most fun to shoot guns of all time!

Too bad that cheap ammo has gone by the way side for this fine piece of history.

If any of you young guys aren't familiar with the story(s) behind this weapon you should absolutely look it up, a story like this won't happen in today's world.

  • Great shooting. Awesome vid!! Thanks for sharing. Very cool rifle!!

  • Thanks for doing this video on one of my favorite rifles in all the world. Would you be interested in selling me the brass?

  • @thebudgetarmory1

I give all my brass away for free and have someone local beginning to reload for this.

  • @tnoutdoors9 Thanks for getting back to me. Never hurts to ask!

  • Wow. I could see it falling in flight! I'd like to see a pistol take the .30 carbine...

  • @slickwilly87 Ruger makes a six shooter chambered in .30 carbine and the Thompson contender has a barrel you can switch out as well in the caliber. Even cooler..... there is a small california company that makes a semi auto handgun called the MAG30.

  • @splittiebus66 AMT AUTO MAG 30 ....sorry ;)

  • Great Shootin'

  • An old war production M1 Carbine is not the best setup for 250 yard head shots in wind. You must have been putting a lot of trigger time in with this little handy rifle. Great all around utility and personal defence carbine.

By the way, it is normal for a M1 Carbine to be pieced together with parts from many manufacturers. It was not uncommon for a new one to have 3 or 4 manufacturers in it right off the line. Someone needs to start making them again. I think it would sell very well.

  • @Jesses001 Auto Ordnance makes 3 models including the paratrooper model

  • @sharkinfested I forgot all about the,. Thanks for reminding me.

  • pritty good mate... wish we could havesemi autos here in OZ.

  • Nice video man

  • Dang you can see the round flying through the air! Would it be to much for you to sell Bigfoot and buy a super slow mo camera??

  • i like how you're always positive, it makes watching that much more enjoyable! hope to see more from your m1 carbine!

  • hit is still a hit

  • sweet video

  • bullet drop is scary lol!

  • COWS!!!!!!!! :D

  • great rifle, and fun to shoot. its no wonder that it was used extensively in wwII. a hit is a hit, even if you have to hit em more than once.--12" plate @ 250yrds--that was a german melon at the time

  • if you can catch the bullet on camera your not breaking 1000fps. if you put your camera at 15 feet in front of a 9mm and shoot you wont see anything. only a high speed cam will pick that up. i would say your running closer to 5 or 600 fps. MAYBE

  • @bulletboys11 The only reason you can see the rounds in this and other videos isn't because they are traveling slow, its because the lens is zoomed in very far, and the bullet is traveling a long distance so you can clearly see them fly, you could see a .30-06 shot at 3,000 FPS if you were shooting at a long enough distance and were zoomed in enough! and you CAN see handgun rounds in flight... but when you shoot15 feet the bullet is only visible in 1 or at most 2 frames of video DUR!

  • @XHustonProductionsX you made the best point of why they are seen. i stand corrected with this logic. that makes sense. then you turned into a dick.lol

  • @bulletboys11

The Remington Ballistic Calculator shows this bullet going 842 fps at 500 yards. Using the same chart, this bullet won't drop below 700 fps until you get out around 700 yards.

Hickok45 routinely shows zoom shots of bullets hitting steel, handgun shooting. How do you explain a .40 S&W or .45 ACP bullet visible in flight at 80 to 100 yards when the muzzle velocity is at or below 1000 fps?

Over the years, I have learned to respect math.

  • @tnoutdoors9 A piece of paper is significantly different from a chronograph. There's a reason why USPSA and IDPA matches chrono rounds. My shooting partner routinely makes power factor with 230gr. ball ammunition going right around 675fps from his STI, and the chrono is about three yards from the muzzle.

  • @tnoutdoors9 And there's absolutely no reason why Hickock would reload .45 ACP to anywhere near 1000 fps.

  • @SCOUTCHRIS

That was not my implication at all. I don't know to what velocity he reloads his .45's, although he uses my brass. My chrono numbers at 10 feet are usually close to published specs. I have to believe that the ballistic calculator is just as reasonably accurate. I'm just saying that bullets don't have to be going below 1000 fps to be captured, at a distance, on a typical camera.

  • @bulletboys11

I need to rephrase this. I don't think a bullet has to be going below 1000 fps to be caught on a normal camera, at a distance. I may have to prove this somehow.

Also, if this was only going 600 fps at 250 yards, why would the military send troops into battle with a rifle that produced less than 100 ft lbs energy at a possible fighting distance? I realize that we hear enough debate today on the 5.56 mm and it's effectiveness beyond 300 yards.

  • @tnoutdoors9 houston productions made a very good point about the camera being zoomed in so the bullet is caught on more frams traveling over a greater distance. i am proved wrong and respectfully bow out sir. lol (also i have a VERY high respect for the math)

  • @bulletboys11

No problem, we all learn something every day. I learned alot myself from this shooting session.

  • @bulletboys11 His AR videos you could clearly see the rounds on some of the shots and they are traveling considerably faster than 1000fps. I am sure a 90 degree shot at the muzzle would not show anything though.

  • Fun vid to watch - cool rifle. excellent marksmanship -

  • Great video and nice shooting! Love how clearly those .30s are in flight on the last few segments of this video, and I know it is a bit louder but those .30 carbine shots sound very similar to a .22LR... must be the straight-rimmed rifle cartridge sound? LOL

  • Nice shooting and some great slow-mo at the end.

  • Beautiful gun nice shooting!

  • thats some damn good shooting sir

  • You are a great shot!

  • Great shooting!

  • This is a great video I absolutely love that rifle! I love how you can see the bullet travel. It looks like you are really high off the target but it still connects. Great vid!

  • love the little carbine. Ive got myself an original paratrooper myself. what a blast to shoot

  • Is it possible to find new manufacture versions of this carbine that are built to military specs. I fired one many years ago and loved it.

  • @curlybobz Auto-Ordnance makes makes them

  • i love it when TNO9 shoots with open sites...i know he likes it too

  • Great eyes! I pronounce it "Kar-bean" too.

My carbine is made from Winchester parts.(barrel, receiver, trigger group, at least all the marked parts). It was either never used during it's service or somebody previous to me cherry picked the parts.

  • You can see the bullets! Must be 700 fps.

  • @glennwih They start at over 1,900 FPS and when they hit the targets they were traveling about 1,100 FPS... (1:48) Where does 700 FPS come from? That something you made up because it doesn't make any sense!...

  • @XHustonProductionsX It makes perfect sense if you have the 2nd video I have ever seen showing bullets on video. You're filming at 60 fps and if you did it at 30fps you would probably not see the bullets. I think your wimpy .30 carbine bullets are traveling at a slower rate. Get a real gun like a SKS.

  • @glennwih

I would be very surprised if my calculations were off by 400 fps.

The first zoom segment was filmed at 60 fps with the CX-560. The plates and water jug zooms were filmed at 30 fps with the CX-110, which has a better optical zoom than my newer CX-560. The bullets in flight were clearer on the CX-110 segments due to a better optical zoom; frame rate fps was irrelevant.

Yes, a 7.62 x 39 123 gr FMJ has much more energy vs. the .30 carbine; over 1500 ft lbs at the muzzle

  • @glennwih 60 fps will be cleaner motion and catch more fast movements, yes, but even 24 fps can pick up projectiles in flight... depends on the zoom of the lens and the contrast of the background, its not my .30 carbine... but you would be able to see both the .30 carbine and 7.62x39 rounds... besides the 7.62x39 is an anemic .30 cal! If your going to say whimpy compare it to at least the .308... why are so many gun iliterate morons out there so sure of facts they don't know on youtube? HAHA

  • @XHustonProductionsX YOu seem to know nothing about video or guns. Your .30 carbine is a wounding catridge. It was made for pussies who couldn't handle the M1 Garand. Go back to your gay little life and cuddle your pee-shooter moron.

  • @glennwih So army airborn were pussies? I'll go tell some WWII vets you said that. You've pretty much anounced your intellect on that one, buddy.

  • @glennwih Yea... I know nothing about video or guns... thats why I just explained why your dumb ass is wrong to you and you still missed it and why my videos are edited so nicely, what didn't you understand oh knowledgeable youtube ballistician? Like I said... its NOT MY .30 Carbine, and it was made for tank crews and paratroops that couldn't carry a full size M1 with them you fucking idiot! You were talking all badassed about your big bad 7.62x39 sks piece of shit, now its the garand? Grow up!!

  • @XHustonProductionsX Veryweak comeback. Kinda like a .30 carbine at 250 yards; aka a bb gun.

  • @glennwih Your mind is obviously very weak in the brain cell department! and I don't know any BB guns that can produce over 300 ft lbs of energy... at ANY distance! So that your retarded ass can understand it: You're saying that a 9mm at point blank range is less powerful than a 'BB gun' I would quit commenting but I find it so extremely comical how you keep finding new ways to make yourself look less and less intelligent with each comment! Thanks for the laugh! LOL

  • @XHustonProductionsX Hey douche bag, be a man and convert your wimpy .30 carbine to .45 win mag like real men have done. And no, I would never own a .30 carbine, I shoot big magnums like .300 WM and when it's house cleaning time I use either one of my SKSs. .30 carbine was not made for tankers, the M1-Garand Tanker model was made for tankers. .30 carbine is a piss-ant catridge and had problems in Korea penetrating the thick coats of the North Koreans. That's a fact.

  • @glennwih You are still too stupid to realize what I have told you about 4 times... its not my .30 carbine retard! I have a .300 Win Mag, but its far from a 'big magnum' and the 7.62x39 is a joke! I still don't remember saying the .30 carbine was a powerful cartridge of any kind... I do recall calling you a retard though... ;)

  • @glennwih I don't know why you're all butt-hurt over the M1 Carbine but it's obvious know nothing of the history of this gun nor the M1 Garand.

    1) M1 Carbine WAS used by tankers, truck drivers, cooks, motor pool personal, etc. The army saw the only other option was to issue 1911s to these men & no one wanted to only have a pistol in combat.

    2) The tanker M1 Garand was never approved by the army. It was a failed experimental rifle. It's believed that only one ever saw combat.

  • @glennwih

Why are you flagrantly attacking other viewers when presented with facts? Granted, the 7.62 x 39 is a more powerful round, as is obviously the .30-06 from a Garand. It has nothing to do with anyone using an M1 carbine being "pussies", it's what our government gave our guys to shoot. The M1 carbine had a specific purpose, the military understood it's strengths and weaknesses. Audie Murphy didn't seem to have a problem with the M1 carbine.

  • @glennwih

The Remington Ballistic Calculator shows the .30 110 gr FMJ going 842 fps.....AT 500 YARDS. My numbers at 250 yards are reasonably accurate.

  • That was a very interesting vid. i have always wanted to try my hand with my carbines at longer ranges. That round would still punch through a German helmet at that range, no problem.

  • @kiwitedferny

I was truly hoping you would see this. If there is anyone who knows the intimate details of this rifle and its ballistic capabilities, not to mention history, it would be you.

  • I love that Prvi Partizan ammo. Its also sold under Monarch Brass, and Wolf Gold.

  • That M1 is a beauty, love the stock. I've only ever shot one and it was a so fun to shoot. No real recoil, just a blast.

  • That's sounds great! I just bought one 2 weeks ago, it was still in the russian crate of 20 , I paid 120.00 for it . The thing took about 6 hours to get all the cosmoline off,but is brand new looking also . It was made in 1944 ,I ordered ammo thru SGammo.com, 880 rounds in a Russian crate for $139 , I can't wait to shoot it and see your video also. thanks for replying sir, take care

  • You are making me very excited to take my M1 out to the range. Nice Shooting!

  • The bullets are going so slow that I can see them

  • looks liek you can see the bullets! sweet. I had an m1 carbine copy a few years ago. shot it a few times and decided to wait to get a real m1

  • how about a video with the m1 garand? this is nice. this carbine is pure history

  • Nice shooting

  • i can see the bullet flying in the air

  • Nice shooting, especially with that wind. I really like the slow motion

  • NICE! i'd like to own a .30 carbine, but ammo in my area seems to be almost nonexistent, or really expensive.

  • Great video,thanks

  • Beautiful weapon.

  • Great Video Tnoutdoors9 as usual. Did you calculate how much drop you were getting at that distance? Just curious. Thanks and keep up the good work.

  • not bad

  • nice vid and cool gun

  • I love how you can see the bullet right before it hits the steel targets and how it bounces off.

  • good shootin Tn

  • you should try to get your hands on a m2 carbine, theyre a hell a lot of fun to shoot!

  • at 5:00 you can see the bullets flying.

  • the wind was blowing hard the way yer bullets drifted on the first targ.

    Good shooting imo.

  • Haha, that was cool, loved seeing the rounds looping in and hitting those "headshot"plates, great video.
