  • Thats Awesome! How did you manage to fit the EMG in there without it being in a "chain" of other EMG's? I just bought an "S" pickup and wanted to mount it in my tele. I'm sure that I can figure out mounting it, but how did you get the pickup to work? Awesome job again!

  • @315DL

Hi, The EMG SA pickup came as a single unit with a pre-amp and battery connector. It came with easy to follow instructions. Mine is done the same way as Keith Urbans. The 3 way switch and the neck pickup have been removed and the battery connector and battery fits nicely in the cavity where the 3 way switch would normally be. I did mine a few years ago and can't remember exactly how I did it, but if you're struggling, there are websites that can help you. Thanks.

  • @rob07903 Thanks for your help!

  • would you post a tutorial for actual solo in this song

  • What's playing at 2:24?

  • Nice picking. The guitar is pretty close too

  • I've been thinking about doing that as well with the pickups, is that the emg-sa you put in there? and if so, could you (if you ever get the chance) take a picture of the wiring, i want to get it right if i do it. :D

    Good playing, btw.

    Cheers

  • man, how did you mount a strat pickup in your tele bridge? i have the exact same guitar. would love to know, so if you could pass on the knowledge, that would be awesome!

  • Hi,

It was pretty straight forward to be honest. I glued a piece of plastic with a resin glue on the bottom of the pickup which is the same shape as the underside of the original "Tele" pickup, and drilled the 3 screw holes in the correct places. To get a good fit in the guitar, I did have to chisel out the corners of the routed section in the body that takes the pickup. That's only a 2 minute job as you only have to remove a very small amount of the wood.

    Cheers.

  • this video is awesome!!! I play it about at least twice a day...I LOVE IT!!!

  • Just wondering if you can set up an instructional video on this that would be phanomenal

  • Right On Man =)

    Just Keep On Truckin

  • how do you play that last part ive been tring to figure it out but I cant

  • Dude....I'm lovin the sound you have there...what are you using for a system? Sounds great...

    good job man!

  • Cheers mate. To be honest, the system I was using was a just a small "Fender super champ xd" practice amp, set to overdrive at about 60%. I think what makes the sound that much better is that I use the same EMG SA Pickup that Keith uses in his telecaster. It's originally made for the stratocaster, but his technician made it fit his tele. So I thought if he can do it, so can I!

    Cheers mate

  • looks like you're playing a nashville tele? keith has a 40th anniversary tele which he indeed did put an emg sa pickup in and he removed the middle and neck pickups, but since then he has bought another 40th anniversary tele and says that it plays much better as is, then how he modified it.

too bad there's only 300 of them made.

  • Whats that last part befora you look good in my shirt

  • Sorry, I have no idea what it is. It was just part of the solo that Keith played so I learned it.

  • dude that is awesome. Love the tone of your setup.

  • That wasn't bad. One thing I noticed was at around 2:09 and a little after that, some of those bends were a bit out of tune... Maybe that was intended or not intended, I'm not sure. That is really the only negative thing I noticed in this. Good job otherwise!

  • Hey amazing sounded great! sweet fender! and can i ask what chorus effect or pedal your using? and what amp

  • Hi there, I'm not actually using a pedal, the sound is purely through my practice amp. It's a Fender Super champ xd with built in effects. It's set on "Distortion". The other thing is that I use the same pickup in my guitar that Keith does which has a much better sound to a standard one.

    Cheers.

  • WOW! You are awesome on the guitar.

  • u missed one lol
