Benelli's American Bird Hunter - Outdoor Channel - Introducting a Dog to Gunfire

This is different than what I just saw on another video. In the other video the lab would retrieve a dummy that is being thrown away from where the gunfire is coming from rather than having the dog see where the gunfire is coming from. Who's method is better?
