One of my favourite madness tracks ever! For some reason when i was a kid it always reminded me of Pigeon Street... You just never know what those dirty folks on Pigeon Street are up to... Surely a contender for best solo sax 2:35 onwards
i used to sit and look at this album cover for hours while playing over and over again ...What i would have done to have had a crombie coat and Suggs hair in those days....! Good old days.
Hardly a video is it, it was on the Absolutely album, ( I always thought it was another compilation album but then worked out that "Keep Moving was the compo of the "best of 2 albums for the US market)
Absolutely is definitely a GEM of a record.
JUST ONE QUESTION
I mean I know what the song's about here but I can't believe you could write it!
This definitely has a STORY behind it, just wondered if anyone knew what it was!??!
don't shout at me I haven't read all comments on here yet.
I remember the days when myself and my 3 brothers used to do the madness dance in a line to this song all round our sitting room,up on the sofa across the armchair over the coffee table havin the best of laughs!
These were the start of my skinhead days..come to think of it,same for my 3 brothers..
Goin to see Madness on monday here in Belfast,we've been gettin spoiled recently,The Specials and Bad Manners just played here in the past month..a revival perhaps?
Abolutely was my first Lp -and it still plays better than a lot of my cd's and outlived every cassette i have ever owned..
Saw baggy trousers on top of the pops and it summed up the playground really, running round in hand me down 70s flairs that my older cousins grew out of...unfortunatetely i had to wear flairs up to about 1983 due to the age diff..but i am ginger anyway..my dad cut my hair and madness was the only style he could more or less get right..wanted to be bodee from professionals
Saw em in concert in Pittsburgh, PA....still love em.....fun music

I find it interesting and funny that most lyric sites, and the album's own lyrics, have the last verse's lyrics wrong:
Wrong: See that's the one for me/that was quick too quick for me of that I can see/wash me laundry oh bugger me/sugar and milk with your tea?
Right: E that's the one for me/that was quick too quick for me of that I can see/what's your name, Mildred, well bugger me/sugar and milk in me tea.
The right ones I got from the official Madness site awhile ago.

'Absolutely' is just a fantastic album, all of the songs are great, catchy tunes, intelligent lyrics, nothing like what you hear these days.
