  • i remember i used to do the same..its sad watching it cuz i know exactley how hshe feels:/ your mind is just terrified am u dont know what to do!! i hate it!!!!!!!!

  • I had night terrors for years when i was younger, even now i still sleep walk here nd there, no one could ever wake me up out of it but i always woke up to my mom or family around me. One day they just stopped. oh and i also remembered some of my night terrors some were my mom chopping my head off and throwing it in a street so a car can run over it weird shit.... so its not always true that u cant remember them... my mom told me she prayed a lot...

  • Also, you can see that she got fixated on stuff. That was what made it seem so weird to me. She seemed a little more awake than she should be during a night terror.

  • To answer some of the questions from people...

    1. This is not still going on. It only happened for a couple of months after her dad moved out. It was awful though. So hard to see her go through it.

    2. She did not have a UTI or any other illness.

    3. I did try to comfort her. Also, you have to understand that she had been having these for a while before I decided to film one. No amount of comforting ever helped. She would squirm to get away from me, or hit me, that sort of thing.

  • I had night terrors when I was her age. I grew out of it after a year or so.

  • Doesn't seem to be Night Terrors as she made eye contact with the camera. What time after initially falling asleep was this? I would say no. Just pray to god it goes away as she grows older. Because, and I dont mean to scare you but I have known people with night terrors who would rather have cancer. It is horrifying to get them as an adult. Psychiatrists are also full of shit. You do awake and you can remember them.

  • Sounds suspiciously like something my six-year-old niece occasionally experiences between ten and twelve at night.

  • I used to have night terrors; in fact, I still do every once in a while. From what I've read about it, it's nothing traumatizing for the child. I can't even remember my night terrors, let alone know when they happened. Even now when people experience me having a night terror, I don't know it's happening. People tell me I'm calling out or yelling but... I hear or see nothing and just feel confused from being woken up during a night terror. lol

  • 2:41 Jesus, do you think this child was touched and is acting it out? O.o

  • I hope you at least try to console her when you're not video taping her. Our kids have never done something like this. I would wonder if she's receiving enough love and attention. Not to judge... just a thought.

  • @meangreen4321 Believe me, this has nothing to do with possible lack of "enough love and attention". My 3 year old some probably gets too much love and attention, and he does exactly the same. He is the center of attention wherever he goes. We have noticed this happens when he watched TV before bed (we never let him watch TV in general, but noticed this when he did once or twice had the opportunity), or mostly when there is a change in his normal routine. He had a 20 minute scream last night.

  • Yup, this is a classic night terror. I'm 18 and I evidently still get them sometimes, though mine tend to be semi-violent with and end up with me breaking something. One piece of advice; DON'T wake up someone with a night terror. It's hard to do anyway because they occur during the deepest part of the sleep cycle, but it's bad if you do because it actually freaks them out. Just let it go on and try to prevent the person from hurting themselves.

  • im 15 just like thous and i remeber them there about the dumb things but i only get the when i have a high fever haha one time i was freaking out at a flower :S

  • Hi - Yes, this is night terrors - have you treated it yet? There are two signs that it is night terrors - 1) wakes up at around the same time 2) she does not respond to attempts to wake/ comfort her. Her eyes are awake and she is active, but that is fairly common with night terrors.

There are TWO proven TREATMENTS for night terrors: 1) try to change their sleep pattern by getting them to sleep earlier, waking earlier in the morning, etc. 2) Set the alarm to 1:15 or 1:20 and wake her up x3 days.

  • I never knew there was such a thing like these night terrors. I'm glad I now know they exist. Otherwise it would have been quite shocking if i had a kid some day and it would do this. But now i know and can try to prepare myself for these situations. Thank you! I think i'm still far from ready to have a child though. I'm glad she is OK now.

  • I use to get night terrors when i was a child. It's an unexplainable feeling. You wake up confused and i would just sit up right in my bed and start screaming for my parents. It's wierd though because i could remember most of my night terrors.

  • Im only 11 watching this almost made me cry

  • unreal .......its like a bad mushroom trip!!! must have been so frustrating to watch. does that still happen>>?

  • I have a child that suffers night terrors too. It is quite frustrating when you try to comfort your child and it just does not react to your voice or touch and instead tries to fight its way out of your grip. But even if it is frustrating, this is precisely what you have to do. DEFINITIVELY NOT film her for over 4 minutes and let her alone with her terrors. In my case the night terrors became shorter and shorter as she became more "responsive" to songs and caresses over time.

  • poor baby!

  • This would make for a great condom commercial.

  • I happened to have a night terror at chruch camp one year. I think they suspect I am possessed XD

  • lizardhvn..grow up u silly silly idiot!!.....my daughter also suffers with this she is 4 doeant happen every night and sometimes doesnt hppen 4 weeks ....touching the child while there having an episode is a no no it can make them totaly worse as they are hillusinating and we do not know wot it is they are seeing!!!!......ignore lizard beckibuns you know wot ur doing shes ur child !!

  • my daughter suffered 2 and its awful and hugs and kisses dont cut it u idiot lizardhvn....grow up and wen u exsperience this yourself then comment.....well done beckerbuns your doing wot should b done....they say dont touch the child during an episode cos it can make it worse.....so shut it lizard!!!!!

  • this site is a bag of shit!!!!!

  • My daughter did nearly the same thing. I found a warm bath worked if not right away then usually in a few minutes. Put on lulluaby music, dim the lights and sit beside her, sing along so she knows your there and feels safe. Good luck, hope it works.

  • haha! i remember doing exactly the same thing when i was 9.mine would last for about 2 minutes and then when it was all over i'd be like : WTF?! :D anyway , she's not crying becouse she's seeing things , but durring these terrors you are so confused that you can't recognise anything around you and you feel like a past cave man brought to the modern world.nasty transition :D take care of the kid.cheers!

  • Aren't people supposed to be physically paralyzed to have night terrors?

  • She's probably crying because she's confined to a physical body. We all cried that we were first realized that limitation. Maybe children can see other things & remember and lose that ability as they get older. I used to see things when I was awake actually I had no explanation but there were alot of nightmares and strange things. Nighttime was almost like death for many years I would sleep for only 4 hours a night starting from 10 or 9. I wonder what it means.

  • That poor little girl :'(

Oh my... how terrible. A toddler that was crying so hysterically and nothing was able to console her.... that's so sad.

Don't worry about what some people said. You're not a bad mom. There's really not much you could do in a situation like that :'(

  • What happens if you just hold her and show her how to breath calmly? You can do this gently without letting her go.

  • people really are rude about this....=/

I hope its stopped by now?

shes such a beautiful litte girl, it breaks my heart to even see her like this...I don't even know the poor child Dx

  • this exact same thing happend to me.

  • Yep! That's definatly a night terror! My daughter always had them, (she's 6 now and rarely has them anymore). My son JUST woke from one.. in the middle of the day! It looks JUST like that... totally seems awake and throwing a fit, but is inconsolable. You did the best you could. How's it going now?

  • Without a neurological/Medical exam, there is no way to tell for sure. However, based on what I see here, these episodes are probably night terrors. Note the way she walks around aimlessly. Funny thing is, she is actually asleep when these happen, and will not remember them in the morning. Most children outgrow them, but it would be best to have a Dr. check it just to be sure.

  • Oh my goodness!Has it stopped?is she alright? That must be so scary for you! I totally respect you and how you handled her!

  • aw poor little girl... ya to me it seem like she when she went to the door she was wating for something or someone to come home... i absolutly hate and i really do mean hate to bring that up cause im guessing u dont want to hear about it but ya im just saying....... does she like still do this.... im sorry about your daughter she is sooooooo cute... she will be in my prayers... unless you

  • Seriously take her to someone that specializes in past life regression in children. I beleive she is reliving things that may have happened to her in a past life. There is tons of evidence that supports past life therapy such as no more night terrors, not being afraid of the dark. Not being afraid of the bathroom and well the list goes on. But a thought outside the box! Good Luck

  • Is this still going on? Did you find out what it was, or a solution? My 3.5 year old son has recently started waking up screaming at about 11pm. He doesn't seem quite as awake as your daughter, and doesn't scream quite so continuously, but he's inconsolable, and I can't figure out what he wants or needs. He doesn't seem afraid, mostly mad or sad or sick. It goes on for about an hour. In the morning, he seems fine. So weird and frustrating!! I'd love to hear if you came to any conclusions.

  • This only went on for a couple of months. It seemed to be connected with her father and I splitting up and him consequently moving out. She has always been a very perceptive child and I think she knew changes were going to happen... And then after he moved out, she kept it up for about another month. It happened almost every night and went on for an hour or more. I believe they were night terrors, connected with her stress over what was going on in our lives.

  • It sounds like your son is having more classic night terrors. What have you done for him? What you see in this video is about all I could do for Misty... Hold her... Keep her safe... Let her have it out. Eventually she'd fall asleep in my arms and that would be the end of it. But it was so frustrating and heartbreaking to watch!

  • my son used to get distressed and i think that can be fairly dangerous. but swinging on the t.v etc is a danger and i would certainly keep her from these dangers:) i have removed anything like that deom my sons room and kept the stair gate secure to stop him from accessing the stairs. :) good luck with it!

  • my 2 year old son is suffering from them at the moment, and he will cry and cry and cry i would probably try to console her a little more or keep her in a safe environment with low lights on, enough so she has a clear view of the room but not too much light where she may confuse the light with daytime. she seems aware of what she is doing so i would expect that she has kind of snapped out of it.

  • you were did a great job handling that. Dont listen to what that moron lizardhvn (faggot name) has to say. im not a doctor, but as i said when i was talkin to lizard boy, i know how to handle a night terror. basically, your supposed to just ride it out, and prevent them from hurting themselves. good job mom.

  • Thank you. I appreciate your encouragement. As you can see I got a lot of abusive comments on here and I had to turn moderation on. People can be so hateful!

  • my daughter has the nsame exact thing. that is why i have been looking up night terrors.. her eyes are awake and I can not hold her down or try to help her.. it lasts for about ten mins and then she falls asleep. its supposed to be like sleep walking. and you are not supposed to touch them.. you are just supposed to watch and make sure they dont hert themselves.

  • Becky- that is scary... wow. Does she still do this? Wonder if it is a way of stress coming out...

  • Hiya,

She did this for a couple of months last year. It was right around the time her dad moved out, and I'm pretty sure it was related to the stress, even though she was only 2. It happened several times a week. :(

  • your daughter is awake you dumb bitch. you are a horrible mother. she wants to fucking brush her teeth apparently. night terrors is when you are a sleep. dont be a dumb bitch, bitch

  • I personally think your comment is totally uncalled for- you probably do not have children of your own... because tell me why would a child "wake up" in the middle of the night screaming her head off to brush her teeth... talk about rude, did your mom not teach you sympathy or tact when you were growing up? Shame on you... Do you even know anything about night terrors? Obviously NOT.

  • NO she was not having a night terror. It is a fit, perhaps in the beginnig. Please ladies. Stop it! Your friend knows she was encouraging that rage. I DO know. When she said mommy and whimpered SHE WAS AWAKE! It seems like she awoke when trying to get the bag of candy mommy took away that was on on the counter! Damn! this is abuse! GEEEZE! Its sick ladies

  • I know I was encouraging that rage? Really? This happened 2-3x a week for 2 months at 1-2am and lasting for up to an hour each time. I was exhausted, frustrated, and sad for her because I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Why on earth would I want to provoke this? It makes no logical sense at all. There IS a bag of candy on the counter. I have no idea if she was actually able to see it or what she was doing going behind the door as well.

  • I posted this because I wanted to find out if people thought this was a night terror. I was really conflicted about posting it at all but I wanted to find some way to help her. I do not need people who don't know me or my situation, accusing me of abuse and/or neglect.

  • -_- OH MY GOD! ur r so dumb u CAN wake up still screaming from a night terror

  • It is a night terror- the kid wasn't awake and nothing would have made her happy- it's a common problem with kids her age. Beckerbuns is a wonderful mother, and far smarter than you. You aren't even smart enough to express yourself without vulgarity. Grow up.

  • ok for one with a night terror u can WAKE UP screaming from that terror and shes not a bad mom for one i think she knows her daughter woke up if u dead the desscription u would have noticed that she said this has happened more then once and how in the world did u think she needed her teeth brushed if she woke up a 1:30 in morning ( its in the descripssion)

  • hey fuck face! shut your fucking mouth. YOU DONT KNOW SHIT!!! wants to brush her teeth?! you fucking moron. I have seen night terrors time and time again. that is definetly a night terror. faggot

  • do i even need to say what a dumbfuck you are?! brush her teeth? seriously!? your a fucking moron that obviously doesnt know shit about children or night terrors. dumbass

  • your torturing the little child all she wanted was to be cuddled& to have abit of confurt .... ....

  • idiot. no she doesnt!!! if ur child wants to be conforted, then they stand in front of you forever until you pick them up. she did that one time and it didnt even work! after that, she randomly took her clothes off, ran into a door, and tried desperatly to get her blanket out of her crib. WHAT DO YOU CALL THAT!?!?!?

  • Holy crap!

  • why are u egnoring her, just filming her, she just wants to be comforted. come on shes holding her hands out, she might possibley have a water infection that is hurting her due to the fact that she has taking her nappy off, all she needed was a cuddle and u probable would save her alot of upset i am very shocked that u have let her cry on for so long with out a word to her or a cuddle, confort my 21month old has night terrors and doesnt want me, next time she puts her hand to you please cuddle her

  • nope...doesnt help..you cant do anything about it

  • Andrew is right. You can see in the video that I do pick her up but it doesn't help. She would just try to get away from me and such.

  • Please mom, she clearly was having an epsode until she noticed the bag of CANDY! that u would not hand over. I. U picked her up, but did not console her? Why? She is a baby! THATS NO NIGHT TERROR! Maybe leg cramps from not enough K. bananas/potatoes/green beans. My 3yr old is horrifyed when these spells happen, your daughter is a bit alert(manic) but knows where the door handle is? focused on whatever it was on that damn counter top, that provoked the fit! don't want to attack your person

  • you are a fucking idiot! you obviously don't know anything about night terrors. I got them all the time as a kid. and my little sister got them too. a person remains mechanical during a night terror, and they somehow know where a door is and where objects are. they usually run or reach for an object of some kind. I did it, my sister did it, its fairly common. are you a fuckin doctor?! and who the fuck are you to accuse this women of being a bad mother?! fuck you you fuckin idiot!

  • she doesnt have night terrors sorry night terrors ur mind is lost in the dream ur having you can see things around you but ur in a dream slash reality phase

  • This does not look like night terrors. My daughter experiences night terrors and she will not acknowledge her surroundings (e.i. - looking at the camera). Your baby does appear to be awake. This looks like she may have had a nightmare and woke up scared.

  • i have night terrors sence i was 5or6 and im 18 i hate myself when i have them becouse i dont know wat i will do

  • i am 22 years old and i still have night terrors. your body is awake and you see the things going on around you, but your mind is still lost in the dream. so you see your dream and reality all at the same time. its very real, most kids grow out of them but i guess im not that lucky. the only thing that i found is sleeping with a light on, preferably bright. a bedside lamp would do.

  • To me it looks like she is just angry and wants something. probably had a bad dream or something and needed to be held and rocked back to bed. Im not sure thouhg, did it turn out to be night terrors?

  • exorcist

  • nah sorry my bad i have a son who has this and the cries OMG

  • solution=UPPERCUT bak to sleep

  • she will most likely grow out of it. i had the same when i was younger, they were very scary and strange. just keep an eye on her while shes in this state, thats really the only thing you can do.

  • calling someones name while they are having a night terror will not work...im 18 and i still have them. just got to ride it out...there is nothing you can do to really stop it. dont try and wake them up or hold them.

  • When i was just young, like 3-12 id have them. they were realllllllllllly simular to this, && the pulling and tugging and trying to take clothes off was actually what i did.

  • At 1:03 she looked like she wanted some sweets.

  • Yeah i'm pretty sure she's just having a fit because she wants something on the counter.

  • OMG! Scary, but cute.....you should of called her, see if she anwsered?

  • No if their in a True Night Terror they will not speak to you or answer you, all they will do it scream and Cry for no Reason for a long period of time, as long as 15 min or longer. My younger brother would get them very strange i got scared at time because i used to sleep in the same room with him.

  • I'm saying, if she thinks she's having one, but isn't sure call her or distract her, see if she stops?

  • Yea thats what most parents do, and i am sure this parent tried before turning the camera on, but there non-Responsive they're Sleeping but walking around screaming.

  • yes this is night terrors... I use to have them and they hurt so bad that its making me so upset that you have this video on here.... if you love your daughter you would take this video off here and tend to your children not expose them as if there animals

  • She's not exposing her, jesus get a grip!! See the title?? "night terror?" She's trying to find anwsers!

  • And videos like this help people like me who haven't experienced it know what to look for. It's informational. Who are you to judge if they love their daughter or not!

  • Hey Did You Guys Know That Travis Pastrona Has Night Terrors

  • Comment removed

  • aww poor thing..

  • show the vid to ur doctor

  • You should have stopped filming her, made sure she couldnt hurt herself, and gave her some comfort.

I suffered from terrors for years and couldnt imagine going through that feeling without someone there. I remember always waking up with my mum holding me, yet know idea why.

  • You're not supossed to hold someone who is having a night terror..it makes it worse!

  • What a spoiled Brat .

  • technically shes not awake, not asleep, but somewhere in the middle. What she is having is worse than a nightmare and seems real to her, shes trying to escape whatever horror she is facing.

  • your a fucking cunt

  • holy shit that made me LOL literally

  • Singulair? is she on that because my son was on that and we had to take him off of it becaue this is exactly how he would wake up. Let me know if she is taking any allergy medications appear to have the same effect or psychosis.

  • yes it is singular

  • get her off of it now!!!! she doesnt need it look at the bottle it even has a warning about kids and mood swings please this poor baby....!!!

  • she just wants the candy.. i can see that candy

  • It would seem to me from watching the whole video that she was having a problem with her diaper. Is it possiple she had a UTI or a diaper rash? Her diaper, the bathroom, and a new diaper were her primary focuses. You might want to see a pediatrician

  • not a night terror just a angry baby -.-

  • Yes, I am pretty sure she is having a night terror. I used to have night terrors when I was between 5 and 9 years old. I can't remember the "dreams" but I do remember the feeling. It's like we have to solve a very serious and urgent problem, but we don't know what or how. That causes panic and terror. You see how she does things disorderly all the time? It's a desperate attempt to make the confusion in her head stop. It's like a 106 degree fever. If you need more info, just send me a note.

  • yep it definitly looks like shes having a night terror.

  • I feel for you. I have been going through this with my daughter for almost 2 years!
