Jeez @ all the arguing on this page. This isn't a competition of Darren vs. Pavarotti. Pavarotti is clearly a superior opera singer, his voice is incredible! Darren is amazing in his own right, but he's not a trained opera singer. He's singing way out of his element in this video (I've never even heard him sing such low notes in his songs)...if we had a video of Pavarotti singing pop songs it would seem a little silly too. It's just not his element.

I kinda liked him, but in no way should he even be considered better than Lucianno Pavarottii. He is so good and it doesn't even seem like he's trying. Opera and pop are completely different categories. Of course, Pavarotti's voice is undoubtedly the strongest, but it's a matter of opinion when you deem him a "better" singer. It's all subjective.

As far as music being an art? You seriously need to listen to Darren's albums. The lyrical value is pure genius.
