Honestly, this isn't as silly as it looks. I was in DC for 2 months and it rained almost the entire time and people were getting tangled up in umbrellas and getting wet because they kept having to slant them sideways, forwards and backwards or sidestep into a puddle - the side walks were narrow. I actually thought - why hasn't someone invented an umbrella that would accommodate people actually walking places where there were other people. Bravo! This looks comical, but I'd buy one.
