@WarrenKeingGaw oh i was wrong. These are Show Monks. But there are 100-200 real monks. Shi Dejian, YanLei, Deyang, etc.

But the most are just Kung Fu students who look like monks. Real Monks are very rare. I saw a few when i was at the Shaolin Tempel.

The one claiming B.S. is a moron. While I can't say for this set specifically, I have done backstage work for one of their tours and these guys are legit. Really friendly too.

these arent real monks. My brother worked on this set. They are all trained actors. There was 2 people that were actually from Shaolin there.

Trained actors that just happened to have spent enough time in their lives to do what is shown on stage? Maybe you dont realize but all of these actions and mediations are highly complex and take years of practicing to perfect. Especially the pain excercises. I would like to see an actor with 6months of training do what these guys are doing, I would deem that an imposibility.

I was so lucky to watch them perform live at USC back in 1998. Their performance was just AMAZING! I was thoroughly impressed.

All those Martial monks are from Shaolin Temple Wushu Training Center, where all the tourists visiting shaolin kungfu shows. The performing group have been invited to over 60 countries to give Shaolin kungfu shows.
