  • The sweetest duet harmony on YouTube from two of the sweetest ladies in the world. Mama Kat, I understand why this was your Mama's favorite. I remember singing this song at 5 years old in church (that's been a while back)! Yes, I think to pray, and I pray for you almost daily Mama Kat. We must never under estimate the power of prayer. Love Ya Mama! You too Joanie! Mo Jo

  • @MoJoPiano ```Thank you Moe your sweet words and constant support. We really appreciate it. Hardly a time goes by that Mama Kat doesn't ask about you...She is battling the pneumonia and doesn't feel well. We hope she will get better when the meds have a chance to work...Hope you are having a good weekend.....

    ~Joanie~

  • @Ivoryticklermama I love the way Mama Kat sings the first verse with her soft, gentle and soothing tones; then comes the lovely harmony on the chorus. I like the way Miss Joan comes forth on the second verse with great power and a sense of determination in her voice; she believes those words she is singing. AMEN! A real blessing on this Saturday afternoon. Sending up a special word of prayer for Mama and this pneumonia. Sincerely, Moe

  • Great song! I've heard it only a few times. I play and sing southern gospel music out of love for the Lord and to help pay my college bills, but I wish that my hands could float across a piano like yours! Your arrangement of Just As I Am was quite wonderful, too! Great voice! Keep up the great work for the Kingdom! Matt :-) Proverbs 4:7-10

    100 stars!

  • Carri,

Thank you very much! Mama Katherine needed some encouragement this week. It amazes me how the Lord works! You were so sweet to take the time to write such sweet words that I can pass on to her. Sending you and your family many blessings.

  • Gombak,

    Thank you so much!

I was blown away by your video that my friend MOJO sent to me.

You are great and I am looking forward to more. I wish I could play a guitar like that but it is harder for me than keyboard.

    Have a wonderful day.

    ~Joan~ in rural La. USA

  • I've always loved this song. The only version I am familiar with is Charlie Pride's. You play the keyboard so well! I love it.

  • Joan,

You are a blessing, my dear!

    In Grace,

    Glenn

  • Glen,

Thank you...And you have blessed me too.

    ~Joan~

  • Dear Joan,

It really is true that both of you harmonize so well in fluidity of tone and agility of voice. Glad she likes the Everly Brothers. They recorded an album in 1968 entitled "Roots." On that album Don and Phil sing a medley that includes "The Old Rugged Cross," in a way that could melt your heart. Others favorites are "Illinois" and "Kentucky" and "Shady Grove" and "Mama Tried." Please give your Mom a hug from me!

    Glenn

  • Glen,

    Thank you...

And thank you for the info and the Everly Brothers. These are some songs I haven't heard before. Gotta check them out.

I will certainly give Mama K that hug. She needs it...Don't we all..

Now, get busy and get to posting most accordion videos!

    Hugs,

    ~Joan~ in north La.

  • Absolutely beautiful, Joan, with true Gospel overtones as you and Mama Katherine sing so melodically together! The harmonies are as righteous and deep as those provided by Don and Phil, the Everly Brothers. You can sure tickle those 88 ivories with skill, passion and a joyful heart. 5 stars in every way *****!

    Glenn

  • Glen,

Oh Boy! You just made my night because I will get to tell Mama K... ~~She loves the Everly Brothers.~~ And..she is a little under the weather. That ought to perk her up.

    Take care,

    ~Joan!

  • Dear Joan , that is extraordinary how natural "the whole" is flowing through you and your music and I admire how you do not care at all about all these little things which are so important for most of us... you and the cows - that was so funny and made me laugh and laugh... Thank you for your prayer ... lealu

  • Lealu,

Thank you.and I am thankful you can see the some of the real me..

Things seem to just happen that I DO NOT plan..

~I write a column for a local newspaper here now and then called "Joan's Journeys". Lot of the time I tell on myself, and include some of this "stuff." And yes, people just laugh and laugh at at the CRAZY FIXES that I can get myself into. lol

~~You are quite welcome about the prayer..We need all the help we can get.

    Hugs, ~Joan~

  • To observe you both together and being allowed to listen to you playing and singing gave me such a deep yoy and confirmed my own hope that I don´t know how to thank you - may HE bless you. Lealu

  • Lealu, Thank you. I am glad you found hope. We are so natural at this~ I just move my hands and open my mouth, the rest comes from the Lord. The same for Mama K.. I believe you stumbled upon us for a REASON...When Me-Maw IRENE died, I told the choir director to sing "Don't forget to Pray." Mama K. was shocked and said, "That was Mother's favorite song." ~ Maw-Maw stood on the word of God and loved people. I hope I have a little of her in me.. I will be thinking and praying for you..Joan

  • This is wonderful!! I will be listening to this many many times!

  • Word,

    Thank you so much.

I am glad you enjoyed our song.

    Hugs, Joan from NE LA.

  • Word,

I am so glad you will be coming back again! Hope we can sing another gospel song you'll remember.. Mama K is under the weather today.. Maybe she will feel better soon.

    Sending a SMILE,

~Joan~ down on the farm in La.

  • Joan, I love the piano playing and your Mom is wonderful. Mom and Daughter harmony is also very nice! That piano playing sounds like a little Church of God influence, maybe Baptist, although Baptist don't play that good...I'm Baptist, but we Baptists' can sing! LOVE IT!

I started singing this song with my own Mom when I was 5 years old! Thank you so much Joan and Mama Katherine. Truly, "Oh how praying rests the weary"! Beautiful singing, beautiful playing, beautiful message by two beautiful ladies. God bless and keep you both ever in His care, Mike
