not a big fan of the paradoxes, like richard only had the compass to locke because he gave it to him to give to himself. And that it seems that the others only believe locke to be their leader because he goes back in time before he was born and tells richard he's the leader, making richard always think he's the leader... doesn't seem like Jacob had much to do with it. But maybe that's just what the writers want us to think
@bolognacrew666 There could have been two compasses. The reason I say this is because the one Richard gives to Locke appears to be in very good condition, whereas Richard states the one Locke gave to him is rusty. So, Richard could have given Locke a new compass, which Locke gives back to Richard in the past, and then Richard keeps it for fifty years, causing it to age over time. Then again, this might just be a continuity error.
