Wow, Romney's bit about hospital emergency rooms is simply not true. After Romneycare was passed emergency room utilization rates skyrocketed, in fact they are higher than the rest of the country. Massachusetts also has higher costs, and longer wait times. This guy is bad news for the Republican party, he is not a viable alternative to Obama. What is his platform going to consist of: "I can do socialism better than Obama can."?

The Constitution is not conservative, it is libertarian.

Lincoln was not progressive in the sense that he cared about rights of African Americans. Lincoln repeatedly said that the purpose of the Civil War was to keep the union together, so it did not split on his watch, not to free the slaves.

And the free market is conservative. Forcing people to buy health care, even at the state level, is not according to the free market.

DURING the war however, after spending time with the troops and seeing what happened Lincoln grew as a President and thus is Second Inagural being as famous and as it is.

But the fact remains that Lincoln did not start the Civil War in order to be "progressive" as Romney implies in this video. The Civil War was about 1) maintaining Lincoln's legacy and 2) maintaining the tariff and tax revenue from the South to the federal govt. If slavery had been the only issue, or even a major issue, the Civil War would never have been begun.
